I recall that in another video John recommended against taking the tip off the steam wand for fear of misalignment of the teflon(?) tube when reassembling.
While there is a risk yes, you can still remove the tip off. I advise to gently twist and pull at the same time. To be extra safe you should use some tweezers/pliers to hold the tubing while you remove the tip.

Nope, the 5x flush is just what it says, the clean does lots of different things, and does the steam wand too.
Is it the same as manually pressing the rinse button and cancelling it several times?
