I was going to send this to you and then I see your reaction. My dad passed in 1972. I have 2 older sisters who both left home as adults within a year which left me and my mom alone in the house. I turned 9 the year this came out. Yep, it was 100% our song.

Helen Reddy was an Australian-American singer, actress & activist. She had a lot of hits in the 70's such as "I Am Woman", "One Way Ticket", "I Believe In Music", "I Don't Know How To Love Him", "Peaceful", "Delta Dawn", "Leave Me Alone (Ruby Red Dress)", "Keep On Singing", "Angie Baby", "Emotion", "Ain't No Way To Treat A Lady", "Somewhere In The Night" etc. Sadly she passed away in 2020.

There is an Oldie song from the early 60s by a guy that was in a weekly TV series named Paul Peterson. He played the teenage son. The show was/is The Donna Reed Show" The song is called "My Dad" I thought of it because of you. Its before my time but I used to hear it all the time on the Oldies stations i used to listen to back in the 80s. Check it out if you will ☺
