This really helped! I have having trouble getting the flag to stay exactly where I put it, because I was just wrapping and wrapping relaying on tension to hold it to the cleat.
Excellent,,,,very useful 👌
I agree with Daniel below. I am really enjoying all the knot of the week episodes. All my years on the Navy, I have never learned this flag pole knot. lol! Thanks much for this.
Well done! A very informative demonstration without unnecessary promoting. Thank you!
What a great idea with the flag pole knot too! Very neat and clean! Thanks for sharing!
Love the knot of the week episodes. I made a templar shield on my plate carrier with the butterfly knot. Looks good and i carry about 30ft plus of emergency 550 cord. Keep up the good work.
NICE SHIRT👍👍

You might want to check some videos for a cleat hitch for boating for example. Your half hitch lock is in the wrong direction.
yes I think you are right if it is supposed to be the same
Not only that but he should have made a half turn around the cleat before the figure 8s.
Now to build a nation
Your cleat lock is in the wrong direction. The rope you pointed at that crosses over the rope should be across, not alongside the cleat. This will slip.
you should elaborate more. your explanation needs more clarity. use mm:ss. at no point is the halyard “along side” the cleat EXCEPT in the beginning and end AFTER its been locked in place twice. It will not slip because the stress is taken by the cleat once the halyard is wrapped underneath the foot of the cleat. then, once it is locked in place with the twist the halyard is then properly secured.
good gob
"That's not going anywhere"
Or you could just do it properly...
Title: How to PROPERLY...
Comment in video: "Something I like to do..."
Which one is it? How to properly tie off a flag pole, or did we just all tune in for your opinions and habits? Inquiring minds want to know!
Your cleat is actually wrong...If you care.
Do you know how to untie political knots? Asking for a friend.
This video is incorrect. Thelocking loop should go over the top horn. If you're going to make an instructional video, make sure the information is correct.
