  • Nanotechnology is the future of all technologies. it is a platform that includes biology, electronics, chemistry, physics, materials science and engineering. Although nanotechnology is the study of ultra-small structures, it not simply about making things smaller for the sake of it. It is because the game of science has different rules when you play it in the nanoscale. Noushin Nasiri received her PhD in Nanotechnology following which she continued working on nanostructured materials for health, energy and environmental applications. In 2018, she joined the Macquarie University School of Engineering as a lecturer and group leader. Her research lies at the intersection of science, technology and engineering. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

This is a fantastic explanation of what nanotechnology actually is! Most videos just explain what it does or bow It can be used. It's quick and to the point, and I really liked the presentation and the audio too.

Very well said, it lightened up my mind about the importance of nanotechnology in our everyday lives. It also reminds us to think out of the box and transform weaknesses into an opportunity. All in all, always remember that modern technology is a creation that can save our future generation. Thank you for this informative speech.

It's a humorous and well-informed presentation of how a nanotechnology can be such a great study for the future. It is not confusing for whoever watch this video because of the dynamics on how she explained it from general to specific and also, everyone can easily imagine it because of the accurate visual examples. I'm so grateful that I've watched it.

At first it’s quite funny for it is right that curiosity will lead you to other world. Yes, you will question reality about things but soon when your curiosity turns into ideas and that ideas turns into plans and that plans will soon turns into action there you will create another very beautiful thing. Just like nanotechnology, it may be a very very small particle but it has a very big impact. And thank you very much for sharing us about it and inspiring us to not settle on one thing but to seek more.

Great speech with very nice and stimulating questions! Thank you Prof. Nasiri to bring the fascination of Nanotechnology on this platform. Moreover, I hope many people would enjoy the topic, especially girls. Percentage of women in STEM is still low, but watching videos like this one makes me optimistic about the future. I think you are a good role model for young girls who look up to you. I didn't know you, I admit it. But I am glad I ran into you and I'll start following you on Linkedin to be update about your research. Thank you very much for giving me hope about my academic goals. Good luck with yours!
