-- This video is not meant to theorize that Big Boss never had a BODY DOUBLE. As you may have seen from our theories, we actually predicted MGSV's New Snake/Body Double twist years before release. What this analysis is meant to show is that the game's ending is still being falsely interpreted through the eyes of Venom Snake, just as the intro hospital sequence - which is why Venom still saw a duplicate of Ishmael even in the TRUTH mission, something which would not have happened if we were seeing the actual events of what actually went down at the hospital.
Whether Venom was truly aided by someone during his escape remains to be seen, but Venom and Big Boss being two separate Snakes remains a fact.

I get your point on why would the real Big Boss risk his life while being hunted by many to kill him - unarmed, in hospital clothes. You're right. BUT, ask yourself this -- Who would they even put instead of the real Big Boss to safely escape with a fake Big Boss? In that case, the real Big Boss is PERFECT for that mission since his military experience is more than exceptional. He's the only one who could've rescued Venom Snake from that living hell in hospital we had all witnessed.
It also wouldn't have been his first time escorting someone injured through a battlefield.. 🤔 I love how this all still provokes thought of so many players

He did actually save him from a highly trained assassin who later becomes quiet so that bscks your point up very well

The only real question is why he was completely unarmed. The doctor has a pistol so it's not like there were any barriers (either security or moral) preventing a stash of firearms or even something basic like a combat knife being located in the room to facilitate an escape or defence should the need arise. I know onsite procurement of weapons is a recurring theme but it makes no sense in this scenario, you're keeping a low profile but you're not behind enemy lines in a politically fragile warzone, enough time was available to reinforce the position and improve the likelihood of successful extraction.

The search for answers will never end either. That's the point of Kojima's ambiguous storytelling. There's always another theory, another layer of meaning, another possible interpretation.

The real protagonist of the Metal Gear series is not Big Boss nor Solid Snake. It is Revolver Ocelot. He's there at the start and he dies at the end, and he plays all sides from all angles in between. He's the true survivor and, to achieve what he has across all of those groups and goals, he is the true master of stealth. He just does it psychologically, not physically.

In the end Kaz and Venom are left on there own to survive against XOF and betrayed by their friends. Ocelot betrayed venom and Kaz. Kaz remaining loyal until the end. Ocelot is a weasel, taking all sides.
I agree boss and solid aren't the protagonists. In my eyes it was the boys, Kaz and venom.

Hey I admire your supreme appreciation of the series, I too feel this passion towards Metal Gear. But I sincerely disagree that a minor NPC sharing the same model of an injured, wrapped up patient at a hospital means that the entire ending is a lie or some kind of hallucination. If anything I think the most likely explanation here is that they simply recycled the same model as Ishmael for convenience purposes... the setting being a hospital with many unwell patients. MGSV is great but still a little unpolished in some areas so it doesn't shock me that they'd reuse some models. Regardless I respect this dedication to the series, and it was an enjoyable video nonetheless.
I am pretty sure it was intended, just to confuse the player even more or something, thats why snake was staring at his ass. But yeah i dont think that means the whole mission was a lie, dude was just out of coma and probably confused another person whith ishmael.
@@jarlboof Yeah I meant he only went through intense surgery, then hypnotherapy, and woke up from a 10 year old coma so it isn't exactly strike me as questionable that he perceived some people in a corrupted way lol
My guess is that you haven't watched the rest of PythonSelkan's videos. There's tons of intentional conflicting story pieces out there from Ground Zeroes to Phantom Pain. For instance, Venom's version of Master Miller is disappointed in himself and everyone for trusting Paz. But if you played Peacewalker you'd know that Miller knew that Paz was an "enemy" the whole time. And that's just one example out of a sh*tload of intentionally conflicted storylines. It is not unreasonable that Python is right about Ismael/Ahab too, in fact it's very likely. They didn't need to re-use Ishmael. If they needed to re-use anyone (they didn't) they could have picked any of the patients, especially one that looks a lot more generic. On top on that, he tells Venom that he's "talking to himself" when Venom asks who he is. There was no need for this line of dialog at all, unless something strange was going on. That'd be like me asking you who you are, and you telling me I'm talking to myself. That makes ZERO sense.
@@MavisRecon It absolutely does make sense, it foreshadows the ending twist that venom and naked are one, he is talking to himself because he is big boss and so is naked who he is talking to. Naked is making a nod to Zero's plan without directly telling Venom as to not ruin the illusion.
Why would they recycle that particular model though? Considering they have plenty other models to recycle and that Ishmael has a distinct look to him among other patients?
To me it doesn't make sense if it wasn't intentional.
I feel like Ishmael's in-game model being used for the patient that's supposed to look like him is probably just for convenience. I also don't see any reason for there to be two Ishmaels in the first place; it doesn't add anything to the narrative

Yes, this also occurred to me. Instead of being a hint, it could just be laziness on part of the developers: reusing the exact same 3d model in that sequence.
Theory: The twist is you are Chico. Venom has Dissociate Identity Disorder(source: Medical Paz scene)Ishmael, Skull face(disappearing Skull face scenes), Kaz, Ocelot , Quiet are all alters. Skullface's burns line up with venoms horns. Kaz and Ocelot act different this game to any other game, their are written like one dimensional characters that represent anger and logic. Quiet represents Chico's wishing he didn't constantly open his mouth with his friends dying because of it, in both Peacewalker and GZ tapes. Go look up the deleted artwork, you'll see a skull faced Chico who has such guilt he's wearing Paz's poncho. Venom has guilt about Paz (medical bay scene) but in Ground Zero Big Boss is indifferent to assassinating her(opening G.Z dialogue). If you look up enough D.I.D. material you'll find that it causes people to split to protect the brain from things to horrible to live with knowing, like torture or loved ones dying. Who do we know who's been tortured and forced to torture via sexual violence? Chico in GZ tapes. Who's totally missing in Phantom Pain? CHICO! the phantom pain we should feel is the gap of missing Chico. Chico is the hidden ground zero personality, that's not allowed to emerge. His brain would rather believe he is some medic then believe he's responsible for Paz's death. So how does Skullface torture Chico if Chico is Skullface? Skullface is an induced alter that does all the dirty work. I've read in D.I.D. sometimes one of your alters takes on the identity of the perpetrator . this is an MKUltra Manchurian Candidate induction by what I believe is the real Ocelot/Skullface. My only source for this is a guard line in GZ which says something along the lines of he looked like a cowboy for some reason I cant remember his face(paraphrase). So skullface could be a real guy in this fiction around G.Z. time or he could just exist as an induced Manchurian Candidate Alter used by hypnotherapist tortures like we know Ocelot to be(MGS4)

There's still one thing that bothers me in addition to Your theory. In GZ in final scene there are 6 individuals in Morpho before Paz's suicide":
1. Boss
2. Medic
3. Paz
4. Miller
5. Masked soldier
6. Chico
Paz is jumping off:
1. Boss ends up in a coma.
2. Medic took a shrapnel and particles of Paz's bones.
3. Paz died.
4. Miller lost his limbs and has some sort of glaucoma.
5. Masked soldier died.
6. What happened with Chico???
I mean, where is He? He wasn't just some random masked soldier to just die, He was a very important part of the story and then we jumped into "Phantom Pain" and where is he??? He isn't even in the mother base, He just disappeared like that.
@@CrossfireTheory The tapes ingame mention both Amanda (his sister) and him. Then they say that it wasnt fair or that it was very sad, what happened to Chico, implying he must have died in the crash
The problem with invoking thr "unreliable narrator" trope is that we, the audience are privy to moments that Venom is not. For example: we SEE Ismail walking away from the ambulance wreck with Ocelot while Venom hangs unconscious inside the van. This cannot be explained away by saying Venoms memory is faulty or manipulated...because he doesnt even witness the event.
As for why BB would put himself in harms way to rescue his body guard? Well, he didn't. He went in to extract his body double...the person who was gonna take the heat off of him while he operated undercover for the next few yrs.
In truth, the whole situation doesn't add up because the ppl coming to kill BB found out he woke up from his coma, but WHY? If he was such a threat, why not eliminate him BEFORE he wakes up? And even so, why send an entire squad to wreck the whole hospital and murder everyone in it when it would have been far easier and safer to just have someone undercover take him out quietly? I had to shut off my brain for that one and just go with it.
I admire your desire to see more layers and complexity in whats presented, but it gets to a point where you basically just unravel the whole story and all meaning it might hold by assuming everything is a lie. If nothing you see can be believed, then theres no point in investing yourself in the story.

Didn't in the prologue Ishmael go into the room on the right - into which he pulls Venom into - and a confused Venom mistakes the man standing there as Ishmael as he lags behind?

it was likely a way of save resources and time (during early testing of the game's environment) . Some one likely notice that the was two Ishmael on the screen and thought 'you want would be a good' scare' for the players? make them think your guide is killed'. The two model are pulling the same 'skin' hence why they're the same.
Venom Snake is supposed to be the venom of the original Big Boss.

V(Ahab) Is Naked Snakes'(The true Big Boss) Best Soldier and personal Guard.
He's the only one capable of preforming tasks that resemble The true big boss all the way down to the legendary CQC. (Although Big Boss' CQC is far too superior.)
Venom Snake was supposed to be the vengeance incarnate of Big Boss, Killing those who destroyed mother base 9 years ago.
This is why some of the wandering soldiers attack you on sight. And only Actions that big boss can perform (CQC or using a cardboard box) peaks their interest, that leads to a fulton extraction.
Bog Boss's clones were, to a certain degree, rebellious, chaotic, and confused by their genetic nature. Each one of them sought to kill the other to prove who's better than the other and the original Snake.
This is why Venom Snake was entrusted with being the ultimate distraction to the world while the Original Big Boss(John, Jack, Naked Snake, and ofc, ISHMAEL) continue to Run Fox Hound while you run Diamond Dogs and make your own legacy with his name and his face.
Is it possible that the whole hospital was filled with doubles convinced they were all big boss?
Now I want a mod that swaps every character model in the hospital with Big Boss's. Doctor? Big Boss. Nurse? Big Boss. Assassin? Big Boss. Man on fire? Believe it or not, also Big Boss.
There's one thing that proves Venom snake is in fact the medic. And it's the Paz scenes, Big boss never cared about Paz like the medic did. All those scenes with Paz are hallucinations caused by the medic's guilt. He has big boss's memories and experiences but it's HIS hands that failed to find the second bomb, HE failed to Save Paz as the medic and not Big boss

The twist woulda been 1000x better if BB was still voiced by Hayter and Kiefer voicing Venom.
I very recently thought about this: I think the reason for the voice change is the hypnotherapy. They couldn't change his voical chords to sound like Big Boss (Hayter), so instead they made him think Big Boss' voice sounded like his (Sutherland). So even when Big Boss does speak, to him (Venom) it sounds like his voice so that his brain doesn't reject the idea and end up making the experiment a complete failure.
Probably bullshit, but it made me go "Hm." *shrug*

@@truebigboss however, Ground Zeroes itself is the simulation that Venom is experiencing. Note: Big Boss knows from the PSP games that Millar knew Paz was lying from the beginning. In GZ miller says he can't believe he fell for Paz's act. Miller never fell for the act. GZ's big boss doesn't question the lie told to him. "Extraneous information needs to be filtered and removed.". Big boss in GZ is also Venom...experiencing the simulated memories of Big Boss.

Big Boss enters the hallway then quickly maneuvers around the crowd and ducks off into the room on the right. The camera snaps back to Venom Snake just before Big Boss goes into the room. Venom Snake trails behind because he was messing with the gate for some stupid reason (last one close the door maybe). Venom shambles through the crowd, like a kid looking for his mommy, then wave checks his homie but its just a rando and gets lost in the sauce of his butt cheeks. Everyone does the flop and Big Boss dies a little on the inside for the stupidity he just seen.

I still remember buying this game the day after it released and the sheer fun i had just unlocking all the equipment i wanted before moving on in the story. Especially the walker you unlocked when you went to africa. A truly great game and while my xbox 360 broke back in the day and lost all of my saves. I am considering buying it again so i can think about how great it was back then.
Kojima said that the game ended as intended. The last "incomplete" mission everyone talks about is just a bonus mission thats a prequel to the 1987 metal gear. So the game itself is completely finished.
Exactly my thoughts
Something you should research if you haven't already, Digoxin, the drug Ishmael gives you. It actually suppresses your heart rate, and isn't a stimulant as he has you believe. Conveniently when Venom is hit with it, afterwards is when the hallucinations begin, but is also where the changes in the Truth mission stop. He's misremembering the events that unfold when he takes the photo from the doctor which changes the entire context of the game, but nothing after that.
The cutscene with 'the actual Big Boss' and Ocelot is a scene without Venom, and therefore is a result of something he's inferring without actually knowing, it's Venom's truth, given to him by the Truth tapes (which unlock in the same way as the Paz truth tapes, through arbitrary gameplay until it's just given to you), and in the same way that Paz's Truth is a lie to Venom, Venom's Truth is a lie to us.

Unrelated to these revelations, I just noticed something from the Shining Lights mission: when Snake walks down the hallway and transitions into a demon, the same way he sees himself in the ending cutscene, a firefight is suddenly heard in the background. This is the same noise you hear in both the very first cutscene in the game before the tape is played, and in the final scene when Snake breaks the mirror and walks into the darkness. The gunfire continues as the camera cuts to the bodies of soldiers on the ground. Considering MGSV is a memory recalled by Snake listening to the tape from the Man Who Sold The World, could he be blending two memories together here? Two memories involving the death of his men, once by his hand and another due to following Boss's orders and playing the role he needed to play?
maybe if you believe the lies the game tells, you'll find closure but looking into it makes you feel the phantom pain
Solid Snake was conflicted in the grave yard against Big Boss, if he really wanted to he could’ve put Big Boss down. ALSO the script for V states that Ishmael would’ve beaten Quiet if he had fully recovered from his coma.
I'm also pretty sure that Naked was holding back, because if he showed his prowess in CQC Venom would recognize him since him and Venom have been working with eachother for years and Naked trained him.

My personal theory is that both the Ishmaels you meet are people who underwent the same process as you but didn't take to it as well as you did. they were expendable at that point. the real big boss was never in the hospital.

volgin gave up on killing venom as soon as he actually got a closer look at him.
if venom was actually naked snake wouldnt volgin have killed him?
and if we take into account his connection to mantis, who connected with ahab and maybe ishmael or ishmael and maybe ahab, wouldnt he be able to some what tell the difference between them since mantis said he was able to read deep into peoples thoughts, no amount of subliminal and memetic rewriting would completely remove the original personality, as shown by liquid ocelot at the end of mgs4 and he had nano machines helping him be ocelot.
this isnt to say volgin wouldve been told by mantis who was who but mantis wouldve known who he wanted his revenge on and probably wouldve help volgin focus on the og snake instead of the fake one.
of course after cyperus, skullface had a stronger lust so volgins want was overruled but the same logic could be applied here too, though skullface was after revenge on the world so it didnt matter what snake was.
but then we get to eli where the revenge is back on snake again, of course without ishmael mantis couldnt redirected it, and eli probably didnt care or was blind with his hatred.
point being volgin didnt kill venom so its likely venom isnt naked snake.
in the case of the dna not matching, ill say that its pretty easy for ocelot to lie about them not matching or switching dna samples to get a negative so take that as you will.
overall i think venom is medic still because of how mgs4 ended and how the big boss is the one from mg2, old and new foxdie probably wouldnt have killed venom if he was the big boss at the end of mgs4 since his dna isnt the same as eli's, even with the graphed body parts of solidus and liquid it probably wouldnt have killed him.
that is if the patriots didnt also code new foxdie with venoms dna included.
Cloning the Ishmael model at the start is a red herring to create confusion. You can't use that to determine anything, it's unreliable. There are a lot of cloned models in the hospital.
Venom being a separate character fills a plot hole in MG and MG2 with how Big Boss could be in two places at once as a terror leader and a Foxhound commander: It wasn't him. It was Ahab. A fake Big Boss. It also serves to fulfill his role in the saga as a villain without having to really follow that path- until Venom is killed and he is put on the defensive.
Outer Heaven was just a red herring to cover up Zanzibarland, his real project.

@Mr. Battle In the official novelisation, Kojima writes "In MGSV, we hand the story (the legend) over to the player. That’s how the player becomes the Big Boss in the MSX2 Metal Gear."
So, yeah there are blank to be filled and this video's cool and interesting but his intention is that the "player of TPP" (Venom) becomes the Outer Heaven's Big Boss of Metal Gear. I mean, he wrote it.

They have top tier videos showing all the paralells between MGSV, Death Stranding and PT, which show how many elements are shared between the games. However the theory was that those games were all connected, whe they actually were not.
This channel is a master in creating a solid narrative to their theories, they take specific dialogues and place them in a context that could give a new meaning to the dialogue.
I watch stuff around here because many stuff said are truth or have solid arguments behind.
Since many theorize that Kojima wasn't fired but was taking a vacation, it may be possible for the ultimate truth to reveal itself in time. Maybe it will be subliminal or it won't. Although I get the sneaking (pun not intended) suspicion that it already has been revealed and it's been staring us in the face the whole time.
Is this real? Cuz I watched a whole video explaining how Konami has been going out of their way to erase him. Removing the a hideo Kohima game from anything that ever had it. Even not letting him accept rewards/medals that have anything to do with metal gear.
Who else thinks MGS1 was a good balance of intriguing story, good gameplay, and AN EASY TO FOLLOW NARRATIVE! MGSV was great on gameplay. Nothing else can compete with it. But the story line......Jesus. What a mess. Hideo is an artist, but most fans truly love the feel of MGS1 and 3.
Wouldn’t Ground Zeroes be considered part 1 and TPP parts 2 and 3?

With the fact that 1984 is such a big influence I believe the events of the game aren't replacing Big Boss with a double but a repatriation of Big Boss after Peace Walker.
I am fascinated by the fact that Kojima uses interpreters when he clearly understands and probably speaks fluently multiple languages and always uses a Japanese interpreter
he might understand the language here and there, but i doubt he could speak it fluently. same as some of my friends. they can understand SOME english, like written english, they understand a few words and make up the rest of the sentence by what they think is logical. but if they had to construct sentences on their own, they couldn't do it.

Honestly, the only thing I truly care about and know has to be a misdirect is that Venom and Big Boss are not on the same side after all! You look at how much betrayal and deception Venom went through in TPP, losing Quiet and his men along the way, and finally being told he was just a pawn to take on the world while BB takes his time building up Outer Heaven…how WE felt finding out we were playing a whole other character all along…that does not spell out “oh we’re best buds!” Even Miller and Ocelot end up at odds with each supporting their own version of Boss…
You look at MG 1 and 2 with how the real BB sent in Solid Snake to actually destroy and kill his enemy, and then Miller steps in to guide Snake in killing the real BB (or try to at least)…hardly something you would do if it was all a ploy! Ultimately, we all know how it ends, but it just makes no sense for everyone to end up on the same side when we all know where their true loyalties lie…

Honestly, if we’d gotten an Act 3 in TPP, I think we would have seen the split between Venom and BB.
That's the art of MGS. It secretly depicts the politics of Russia and America and Solid Snake Venom Snake were just pawns. That's why in MGS 4 Solid Snake said He was just a hired hit.

The recycled model of Ishmael was only to make players go towards him, going through the crowd, rather than just waiting at behind and getting killed.

I had everything but closure in MGSV. The ending was so inconclusive it made me feel uncomfortable, preempting my struggle searching for answers ever since.
Like some sort of.. phantom pain? ;P

I would be really sad if the ending was a lie. Besides the cut content I felt very satisfied with the ending. It actually explained how it was possible to kill big boss in MG1 and then him reappearing in MG2 in a very science fiction way (like every MGS, "nanobots") and not just magical.
Indeed there is something missing. Already in the first run of the prologue I noticed the doctor saying about possible hallucinations due to teeth and bones in Venom's head, and I thought this aspect was crucial in the story. I even thought that the Skulls were just creation of venom's mind and they don't exist... But then this aspect is never referenced anymore. Finally, knowing that Ishmail is Big Boss, I noticed he has both eyes. Surely there is something more to tell.

BB's eye was never actually shot, the muzzle flash blinded it. I'm sure you could've fixed it eventually
He does hallucinate, like when he sees paz, or himself as big boss in the mirror. And the physical impairment is that he gets colorblind when injured, which you can see in the prologue and in the cut mission 51

I hate to break it to you, but this is a very common trope in movies where an actor is duplicated to create a confusing scene where the protagonist thinks their associate has been killed before it's revealed it was just someone else who looked exactly like him. I can understand reading very far into this if you're unfamiliar with the media this game is inspired by, but it's just meant to create a fun scene where you think Ishmael is killed before the real Ishmael pops out from the side and saves you. The truth is, it was canonically just another patient who looked just like him due to his obscured and generic overall appearance.

Being movie enthusiasts and also often involved in the film industry ourselves, we do understand your reasoning, but when an entire mission is repeated for the sake of revealing the truth, you'd expect to see the real events of what truly went down. When such a twist is revealed at the end of a movie, you always see repeated highlights of the movie showing the protagonist from another perspective. If we take "Fight Club" for example, after the Narrator realizes that Brad Pitt's Tyler Durden was his split personality, we see several scenes of the movie repeated with the Narrator alone - talking to himself, NOT with Tyler again.. That would defeat the whole purpose of the repetitions, or in the case of MGSV, replaying the entire mission.
In this case, the Second Ishmael can never have looked precisely the same as Ishmael (multiple bandages made him distinguishable) - unless Venom imagined him from his perspective - which would be understandable, but, if the "Truth" mission was the actual truth, in the final mission - the Second Ishmael would have looked differently, only THIS way would the viewer realize that Venom mistook that patient for Ishmael the first time around. The mod simply confirmed that - as we initially analyzed - the two Ishmael models were precisely the same from head to toe (two hospital bands, exact-looking bandage on his right arm, etc.)
In our opinion, if the confusion remains even in the "Truth", then it's simply no truth at all. Let's not forget, all of this is complemented by several other factors, such as Ishmael having both eyes when Big Boss clearly lost his right eye in Operation: Snake Eater, his beard not being visible under his bandaged-covered face - only for him to reappear all bearded just moments later, Ishmael not shooting the soldier on the right, his knife injury disappearing within seconds, & more...
We get that this could have been intended as a fun scene, but when you're showing the audience the truth, there is no longer place for fun scenes unless they're still being fed lies - which is one of MGSV's strong themes. #1984

You could be right. But you also might be looking to far into the double use of Ishmael model. They put him there as a distraction and a butt joke and I think copying the model just for that makes more since than creating a whole new character model for a few seconds of gameplay/cinematic. Also there are two Big Bosses. As seen in the original metal gear games where solid defeats first venom snake then the real Big Boss

The truth for me is pretty simple. Which better way to protect Big Boss than make him believe that he was not Big Boss? The one who left is the Medic that believes himself to be Big Boss while we being the real Naked Snake believe ourselves to be a "fake".
Also the fact that the sharpnel on his forehead may cause hallucinations makes it much more easier for him to be manipulated by a fabricated story that doesn't distinguishes real from fantasy.
The doctor states that the sharpnel couldn't be removed, but who knows? It was way too convenient for it to be there rather than not.
Also, dataminers had removed the bandages from "Ishmael" and his model is no other than the medic in Ground Zeroes...

Speaking of MGS 3, back when it came out I played it on my PS2 at my dads house every weekend, and I’d be at my moms during the week. I probably logged over a 1,000 hours on the game, just playing it over and over again. There was one time where I stopped playing during The End Sniper Boss fight, I didn’t play for a week. When I got back to my dads and turned on the game, loaded my save, the game opened with a cutscene I had never seen before. The End catches you sleeping, then captures you and takes you back to Graniny Gorky Lab and puts you in a jail cell. Then you have to travel back to the foot of the mountains to defeat him still. Turns out Kojima still got his way, with a boss fight lasting a week. That’s what made these games so special, even after playing it 100 times you would still find new things that you didn’t notice before.

Very well done! But i for once do not believe MGSV was shipped as intended, I know this is a hardcore base here but still Kojima is only Human despite what Kaz says. That would mean EP. 51 was always meant to be unfinished, yeah Koji renaming it the Phantom Episode and showing 30% of the cutscenes 95% fully voiced w/ jaw dropping artwork is genius but doesn't get over the real life problems at Konami that went on in the final months. It sure as hell works but it was never intended to be that way. After the DS announcement, Koji also stated when asked what kind of a game it will be, he said It will be a full game this time. Okay lots to unpack here. Let me get this strait, ishmael was venoms subconscious mind being manipulated through the 3rd child in order to help venom escape. It does explain why at parts ishmael seemed to not be there (while theyre playing dead) and when he jumps from the staircase to not be seen. But that raises the question if Ishmael is venoms subconscious (kind of like tyler durdan in fight club) who was driving the car? Was it like fight club and venom imagined ishmael driving when in reality he himself was driving? Love this games story for being so intricate and mysterious. Like the part with Paz and venoms shouts no (great acting by southerland there really feel venoms anguish and regret for not being able to save paz) then it cuts to venom unable to catch the butterfly but like paz it wasnt really there, just a phantom pain. What was the butterfly representing? Venoms regret or that he finally accepts himself for what happened and finally accepts pazs death as well. Back to ishmael. We see big boss talk to ocelot before getting on the motircycle as he gets his new passport and is told to change his face so the world will believe big boss is alive and that its really his phantom venom. So if ishmael was all venoms subconscious through mantis how come it seemed big boss was really there talking to ocelot, and how did ishmael who was completely wrapped in bandages go to a big boss with his hair perfect, has his eye patch and is dressed normally and not in the hospital gown. I thought it couldve been like you said that ishmael had a fake face on and a glass eye to keep his identity safe and to further show that venom was the real big boss while at the hospital. Really love the mystery these games have. Its almost paranormal. Especially the parts with paz as we the player know she died after the second bomb in her uterus exploded. So like the possibility of ishmael being venoms subconscious so too could be paz. Was that whole sequence with paz venoms hallucination? As kaz and ocelot were there with venom when we first see paz is 'alive'. Like Tyler and the narrator in fight club. Venom is just hallucinating a different reality to better keep his psychy safe. Thats why he hallucinated paz so he could learn to accept her death and his failure to find the second bomb. This games mysteries with the subconscious mind are so fucking cool. Like how our subconscious minds are able to create dreams while we sleep. That we have no control over the dream and that were being led by our subconscious as it wants to help us with something so it creates dreams that we can interpret to better help us in life. Our subconscious is almost like having another person live inside us that we cant see or hear, but its there. 'Our very own phantom' this stuff is so cool it blows me away how the human mind works and the depth it goes to protect and help us is quite comforting and scary at the same time. That this part of our brain we seem to have no control over is subconsously helping and guiding us through life. Kojima is such a genius for incorporating the human subconscious into this glorious game. I know a lot of fans were disappointed with V, but i absolutely love everything about it. I find Venom to be such and interesting and mysteroous character. To have his own psyche put under into his subconscious so that his mind will beieve the hypnogosia implanted memories that hes really big boss while his subconscious still remembers who he really was. Big bosses most loyal soldier and best medic made to be his phantom pain.
Absolutely cannot wait to watch part 2!

It always annoyed me that they changed the voice actor for big boss. But since venom is not the real big boss it kinda makes sense, as much sense as the overall plot can.
U are a genius these are interesting points, but to me i like the fact that it wasn't really snake it was just you, me, the player in general. I remember playing the game with passion, i helped all my soldiers and build the base fully, all allies and never killed someone in action unless i had to. I felt great i was like damn snake is the best chacter ever, until the game told me that it wasn't snakr it was me, in a way the game tells you "you're awesome, thanks for being a part of metal gear" at that point i really didn't care anymore who's snake and who's not, the series came to an end and it was phenomenal

I sometimes think that Skullface and Venom Snake is the same person like in the Fight Club or like Liquid Ocelot but we see world from perspective of a one side of doppelganger memories.
The greatest game series i ever experiencend. Of course back then when i was younger most of the brilliant story went over my head but growing up and replaying all of the games several times and diving into the deep lore i realized what a genius kojima is. MGS5 is not trolling the fans...it´s another insane move of the madman delivering his vision. This man pust so many cultural and political topics and set them into various legendary story arcs...it´s just awesome. Thank you mister kojima.
I think the line between the creators actually having done this is some sort of significance VS it just being poor mistakes in the writing is being blurred here. Your using mgs snake eater and mgs phantom pain whilst ignoring the events of mgs peace walker which took place after mgs snake eater. I feel like your grappling in the dark at something that isn't there. Some hidden truth that doesn't exist. I mean the ending of phantom pain was an abortion. The part 2 in phantom pain has got to be some of the most disappointing gaming I've ever experienced in a mgs series.
But I do also hold out hope that another MGS will be released which will give us better closure and new mysteries. So in the mean time let's just hope for some remasters. Like maybe port the game cube version of metal gear solid onto current gen systems, a mgs 2/snake eater remaster and maybe ever peacewalker. The gamecube remake is still Incredible and alot of fun even today. I have the original disc 🙂
Not to mention theit whole "evidence" is based on an asset swap.
I mean, if the patient in the corridor was supposed to be mistaken for "Ishmael", and they both share the same textures to do this, then of course changing the texture of one would change the other.
That's not proof of some greater plot connection, that's proof they used the same assets...

I think there are three big bosses. one is venom snake who died in outer heaven, one is who rescued venom snake and died in Zanzibar and other one is real BIG BOSS.

Why hasn't Konami started development of the NES titles? MGS and Solid Snake 2..... These games could be a part 2 and 3 or TPP. And connect the dots between the NES titles and the PS1 game from 1999. Its a financially sound idea, come out with 2 remakes about stories never told on modern day gaming.
Simple money, compare the people who played MGS1 and MGS3 to MG and MG2 same reason the Silent hill 2 remake is coming out instead of SH1

Wow. You guys are incredible. Loved your content through the years. One question. What is the theme that starts playing at the 12 minute mark?
I've always felt that everything between the end of Snake Eater and the start of Metal Gear is all just legends and stories surrounding the legacy of Big Boss. Potable Ops, Peace Walker and Phantom Pain could all be truth, fabricated, or partially both.
For me, its Metal Gear - Metal Gear Solid 4 as the main story and everything else is debatable.
MGS2 though. If any game is partially true it's that one, since it descends into surrealist weirdness that MGS4 had to retroactively try to make sense of, even when it was never meant to be anything concrete.

I think you glossed over the fact big boss was the one in fact in a coma. The medic was in a medically induced coma going through the hypnotherapy which of course he never agreed to or was aware of. As for the double Ishmael, pretty sure it was to mislead you so you’d go deeper in the crowd and surprise you as everyone else has said.
Hey there C T! We actually covered Big Boss's coma through plenty of other videos but it's impossible to mention everything in this message alone 😀 But mainly, we talked about how Liquid (MGS1) states that Big Boss was in a coma when they brought him in for cloning (1971-1972), so how come he was in another coma in MGSV (1975)? Some thought Liquid's statement was a translation error, but this line was kept for MGS1's Remake: The Twin Snakes. When Kojima was specifically asked about this during MGSV's time, he replied that Big Boss was just in ONE Coma, and that we'd figure out WHY there's this confusion at the end of MGSV, which further makes us believe there's another ending we're meant to see, since Mission 46's "Truth" pretty much shows the same confusion, that Big Boss was in 2 comas (LET Project & 1975).
With regards to the Double Ishmael - that's understandable for the Intro's Hospital Mission where everything is still blurry in Venom's mind, but when it comes to the "Truth", the audience has to see the Second Ishmael as he was meant to be seen - in other words, if that was a different-looking patient who Venom thought was Ishmael, we should have SEEN a different patient being killed, instead of the Second Ishmael.
Ishmael's various bandages made him too distinguishable for there to be another patient who looked EXACTLY like him, and this mod proves that the "TRUTH" Mission just duplicates Ishmael's model, very much like the intro... That is obviously not what really went down, thus the entire mission can't really be called "Truth"... That was the point of this video 🙂

Probably it was Venom alone all along. The fight against the fire horse was fake too. Probably there was no Ishmael, no fight, no ocelot and bb.
@@GlennRRB the fact the the snake you play is venom snake is evidence enough with the other games lore to say that he wasn't alone and infact Ishmael would be the og snake. There are four snakes: og, solid, liquid, and venom. Liquid and venom were killed off, leaving solid and og. What do you know, they both meet up in mgs4. If venom was alone and infact the og boss, there would be no existence of a filler. No venom death, and no meet up with solid. Also in both beginning and ending, you wake up in the passenger seat.
Also if fire horse was never there than snake would have never escaped since the soldiers were proven to be real with quiet and the rest of the massacre.
Also if there was no Ishmael, ocelot, fight or bigboss then the whole story of phantom pain wouldn't exist. The idea of the whole world after his head wouldn't exist and the existence of venom snake would not be, leading to his death not existing in one of the mgs games.
I still got some hope that Hideo will make a new Metal Gear game.

Finally I found your channel again. I remember watching every Theorie about mgsv story before the release. When I saw your video where you said maybe we are the paramedic in the chopper Aso, I was like okay that’s enough Videos this is getting out of hand. And man was i shocked when you were right, amazing work.

I have a tip for you guys.
Go to the Ground Zeroes scene that plays at the ending. Notice where everyone is when Paz has her bomb removed. Then watch their positions very carefully. Watch where they are when the helicopter is shown approaching the MSF base under siege. Notice where Medic and Chico are. Then, once Big Boss leaves the chopper, freeze the frame. You can see Chico is directly over Paz. Hold on to those positions in your head, and don't worry about anything but those two. When Big Boss gets back on the chopper, pause again. Look at who is over Paz at that point.
I believe an analysis of this scene could provide you with ample evidence that Chico and Medic's places are "swapped" or "mirrored" in this scene artificially. It makes sense that Chico would stay over Paz, looking at her (also unable to walk himself), and that Medic would be on the other side of the bench, looking after the evacuated MSF soldier with the 25 number on his back. Instead, we're actually shown Chico looking after number 25--why? We know in Peace Walker, Chico's strength for his choice of teams is the Kitchen staff. He's not really that good of a Medical Staff team member even if you put him on there. I think these are all hints that Venom, the person remembering this scene as it plays out, is using Medic as a "body double" of Chico in these memories. (And Chico then is a "mental double" of Medic, since he now magically has these mental (medical) abilities in this scene!)
