Hello, your videos are very useful, thank you, I have a VW Touareg 2.5Td. R5 Bac.
I have seen that they use oil to grease the seats of the tree, but I do not know which fluid is the one they use (Blue or Pink) for the adjustments of the end of the tree and if it is essential, since at disassemble it, I did not appreciate that it had any type of paste.
Is it essential to have the setting kit to adjust the camshaft?

Hi! Thanks for your comment. The red fluid is a lubricant and it is used to lube the supports of the camshaft and hydraulic lifters.
The blue fluid is a anaerobic sealant and it is used to seal the joint bewteen the supports and cylinder head.
Finally, yes, it is essential to have the timing tooling.

5:15 in original VW Work Manual this eccentric bolt is not 0.5kpm it is actually 0.5Nm which is 0.05kpm. Cheers.
