Nice. Congrats on 7 years. I bought my Grom in 2014 and I love it. I've had to do regular maintenance on it oil changes spark plug air filter and tires. Use it as a work commuter when weather permits and do riding with my buddies. Like the changes you did with the bike. For my Grom I plan to keep it stock. It's just my preference. Nice to see the Grom 's are reliable.
They're simple, so not much to go wrong! Even more so if you plan to keep it stock, im sure yours will last decades like that!
First! Congrats on almost 2k subs! 👌 This is a really long-term review, for which there are very few on YT. My question is; most OEMs cut parts support around 10 years. You're fast approaching that time frame. Do you think Honda will continue to support first gen Groms with parts. Great job as always, Alex.
Thanks, Eric! Interesting question. I hope they will continue to support oem parts. I think they will because the 2nd generation is basically the same bike minus the bodywork. In my experience honda uses parts across a lot of their range.
I really want a Grom but they dont have them in my country of El Salvador. I checked every Honda dealership here and they all said that they dont import them here anymore. Sad about that but when with its "twin" Benelli TNT 135. Cant wait to put some miles on it. Thanks for your videos
Thanks! I've owned a benelli tnt135 and can attest that they are great bikes as well! Hope you enjoy putting miles on yours!
Looking at getting one finally after seeing them almost 10years ago. A og 2015 has popped up local to me with 8k miles so very tempted. I do have a honda dax clone that was 90cc (now 140cc) and a cb500x but a grom has always been on my list to get and give to my dad so he can join in on the fun
I may be biased, but I say go for it! 8k miles on a 2015 isn't much at all, as long as it was maintained well.
@lexdfox little yoshi pipe. Michelin tyres, chain and sprocket just done plus a starter relay aswell for some reason
Well put together video.. I have been looking at the grom and some of the grom clones for my first bike. Any thoughts or input would be welcomed.
Grom clones can be hit or miss. The engines are fine, because its the same generic Lifan or Predator chinese engines that fit in anything, but the fit and finish will be low quality. I did have a Benelli TNT 135 which is slightly cheaper and I was impressed with the quality of that bike!
What have you been driving that leaves the grom in the corner? Great videos btw
Thanks! The crf450rl and ct70 take away from more ride time on the grom, also a benelli and Zuma and spree in the past. N+1 rule is always in effect.
I really like that spreadsheet, do you have a public version so I can keep track of my own bike expenses?
I don't have a template, but I'm sure I can make one if you like. There's a public version available to view, link is in the description!
@@lexdfox Yea i was looking at the public one, if you had like a blank one for download that would be awesome!
@@angelocasaburri3 I made a template! docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1r6cqrBH8GVfHtD0vOe3l5hdFRFMVyD1fV3lbeU8UZWs/edit?usp=sharing
@@lexdfox you are the GOAT! Sub’d on both my accounts
When you installed your protapers did you cut the bar or did you leave it as is?
I left them as is, but you could probably take a half inch off and be alright.
I really like the spreadsheet. What’s the mileage/gal.?
Thanks! I average about 105mpg or so, which is pretty good considering I have a stage 2 kit.
Allllways gotta have the ridiculous "Im not natural" sex flag flyin. 🙄
Says a lot more about you in my opinion...
