I'm retired. I sleep 9 hours, usually. 50% more than I did during my last 10 working years, 6 hours was my avg. I am more poor, but more rested. I stopped thinking I needed to keep up with the Jones' in my late 30s and concentrated on getting out of debt. I stopped living in a sick fantasy, thinking I needed to be competitive on my material possessions. These were the key to happiness in my case. I also eat much more healthfully, as I cook and rarely eat in restaurants. I don't eat sweets. These were things I changed over a 5 year period. You can't or shouldn't do it all overnight, if you want to be successful. I still have many things to work on. The process is never over.

I would like to add this for anyone suffering from chronic fatigue and brain fog . I spent years about 8 of them in and out of Drs offices every test possible done to find out why I never felt good always so tired no matter how much sleep I got . Finally after all the test and endless Dr appointments I prayed to God to please send me a Dr to help me if I could be helped . The very next morning on my TH-cam feed the only one that showed up was a natural pathic Dr named Dr Lotte valentine in phoenix’s Az . I contacted her and agreed to pay out of pocket because she does not take insurance. Best decision I ever made in my life. We ran a urine test something regular Drs do not do or if they do they never tested me . Anyways she ran my urine testing for heavy metals and sure enough that was what was wrong with me ! Sever heavy metal poisoning!!!! One year later now after following her advice on all natural medicine I’m free and feel better than I have in over a decade. I sure hope this helps Even if just one person . ♥️🙏

I wear an Apple watch and use its sleep app. I average 4 hours deep sleep a night WHEN I exercise an hour cardio and 30 min weights plus walking. When I get at least 15,000 steps [ I am retired and 75) I get 5 hours DEEP sleep with a total of 9-10 hours. I take magnesium and my calcium w D3 before bed. I often eat a TBS of plain yogurt so the last item in my system has probiotics. If I drink ANY alcohol, my sleep is affected and also if I eat very salty food. I drink rarely now because I prefer sleep. I drink tonic water with lemon and pretend it has vodka in it

I put my cell phone on Do Not Disturb from 9pm - 8am, I also block it off on weekends, I don't recall the weekend thing I used. I also turned off all notifications and leave sound off all the time. What I found really bothered me, is everything popping up on screen when I woke up in the morning. Drove me nuts when I first woke up. my normal routine would be to listen to a podcast during my makeup routine, etc. Just seeing a million popups from so many people at 6 am was too much for my mood. Putting on the Do Not Disturb was revolutionary for whole day, not to mention, helped retain sleep.

On my first or second day of my period I sometimes sleep for up to 12 hours if I don’t set an alarm! I feel guilty for sleeping for so long but my body needs it. If I don’t get around 10 hours during this time and I go to the office or am up & too active, I feel like death and have to try not to pass out. No bad cramping or anything just extreme fatigue. When I listen to my body and rest I feel great 😊.

The reason Las Vegas hotel windows don't open is due to suicide prevention. "Nevada has one of the highest suicide rates in the nation and jumping (be it from the Strat, Hoover Dam, upper-level parking garages, overpasses, or hotel balconies) is a popular choice. Hence, most hotels don't even have windows that open, let alone balconies." And, climate or temperature is another.

This video resonated with me. All my life people were surprised when they found out my age. My landlord, until recently, used to call me Benjamin Button lol. At 49, people assumed I was 32. In work senior managers used to say; 'How are you young man?' lol. I was older than them. They just didn't know my actual age. I'm in my 50s now and even in January 2023 a guy in his 20s assumed I couldn't be older than 45. I was 55. Then a month later in February 2023, I looked in the mirror one morning and OMG. I had literally aged over night. Ever since no-one has reacted when they ask my age. I'll be honest it hurts because it was so sudden. And Im still not used to it. Despite using tretinoin and eating healthy for many years it just went over night mostly showing on the nasolabial folds. I could handle gradually aging but that sudden! I enjoy the weekend evening's, beers and late nights and maybe it just cought up with me? Like I literally aged a decade over night. If only I knew before.

@matc6221 I feel the same. I'll be 60 in March. I looked at a picture of myself on my 50th birthday. My skin was tight, my hair looked great, my teeth were beautiful. 6 yrs ago after a long weekend up at our cabin my husband pushed me in to hiking 10 miles a day.
I had been hiking 7-8 miles and felt it was plenty. I took his challenge, honestly to get him off my back. After that weekend of hiking my knees, ankles & feet hurt so bad. The pain got worse as the days went on. I saw numerous doctors until a pain specialist diagnosed me with an autoimmune disease that mimics R.A. Since then my physical activity has been reduced to 2 slow leisurely walks a week with a ton of medication to make my joints feel well enough that I can stand up long enough to shower & dry my hair. I can run quick errands that don't require a lot of standing or walking. My teeth have turned a dull color from the meds and my facial skin is no longer tight. I've gained weight from not being able to hike or walk 4 miles with my dogs any longer. My sleep is 4 hrs a night with another 2 hours late morning. I think all the meds really screw with my sleep cycle.
From 50 yrs to 60yrs my face & body have changed so much. It's very depressing. 😢

5mg melatonin in just ONE CAPSULE IS A LOT! My daughter has a sleep condition called Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder where her natural sleep time is 4am to 1pm, and she doesn't release any natural melatonin until about 2am. HER SLEEP SPECIALIST HAS HER ON 5 MG. She's 24. If I take one of her pills, it knocks me out and I have a hangover the next day. So taking 10mg melatonin in 2 of his pills? Sounds crazy to me.
