This video could not have come at a better time, im under extreme pressure by my parents to the point of insulting me shouting at me harassing me emotional-blackmailing me , to say yes to a guy with all the basic requirements being met whereas i have other needs to be fulfilled, its gotten to the point where i just want to pack my bags and leave parents' house ☹☹☹

But at least there isn’t the whole family involved. Rejection is normal. Humiliation isn’t. You don’t want another stranger’s parents comment on your looks, height or income or qualifications and stuff. It triggers your insecurities in the worst way possible. Specially when they don’t even have the right to comment. Relationship usually just starts (and often remains) between the two concerned individuals. It’s simpler.

Recently got rejected by the guy for my height. Thankfully, I never wanted to marry him but had to go to the rishta meeting only because my family forced. My family really really wanted me to marry this guy but I never really liked him. If I did, I still can't believe the amount of therapy I would have required just to overcome all those embarassing moments where I had to remove my heels and stand next to the mother and the guy's sister for comparison.

My biggest beef with arranged marriage is that parents get involved from the beginning. It is so awkward. Just shortlist profiles, choose one, date a bit. Then if both are on the same page, get your Mummy Pappa involved. If it's not working for either of you, call it quits and move on to the next profile.

Here , each one have to choose a trusted hospital for the other. Otherwise there is a chance of tempering the results. There are numerous cases where women cheated virginity with blood pills , artificial hymen, etc.. I am not saying that virginity can be accurately tested but there are cases where women underwent hymen repair surgery , purchased blood pill to cheat groom & his family.

One thing I know for sure is, if I do get married, I will not go for a rich/high earning guy. Reason? When there's an income gap between you and your spouse, equality is thrown out the window. Partly due to the fertility clock and partly due to social mores, people are quite anxious to get their daughters married off early. So girls are generally under tremendous pressure from family and relatives to say yes if the guy has status and money. The video is about countering this pressure and standing one's ground.
I think they didn't talk abt good traits in a groom cuz they are mainly based on personal preference. Like compatibility and stuff. This video just points out the red flags one should be aware of. After that you can just see if you guys get along with each other or not.
