    This is so useful, my high school macs don't let you download anything, not even free Sims like lepou, so my tone for school projects is reliant on logic Sims entirely. Thanks! Greetings from England

      Rip us, we're still using logic 9, that shit is ancient

      You can load impulse response cabinets into Spacedesigner as well. I use some guy's homemade mesa 4x12 + shure sm57-response on all my guitars. A great trick is to use it twice in your chain if your tone still sounds thin and fizzy.

      You might be able to download them onto another device and transfer them over via USB or something. Transfer them over like any other file to where you want them and then point your DAW to look for plugins in the place where you put them.

      Lol in our music tech class at my school we don’t have audio interfaces at all so we just use midi. I’ve been recording guitars at home through my rig and just bringing in the tracks at school.

    There is nothing wrong with the Logic guitar amps and pedals, you just gotta tweak them a bit to suit what tone you want to get, and there is so many to choose from, it can sometimes take a while to find the right one!

    @MilianMalivukMusic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +93

    Just noticed that I'm a dummy and forgot to put the noise gate in front of the amp and pedal plugin! So think about that!

      what is the bridge pickup you use in this guitar? :o

      When I use the amp it puts the drums though the amp as well as the guitar. Can anyone help me with this?

      I thought someone was calling you a dummy, and was going to be like hey, wtf. Then realized it was your comment lol

    I found the pre eq really helpful on these too. As you point out the default plugins can be really muddy, an aggressive low cut before the amp really helps tighten it up

    Thank you so much! I’ve tried so many things in Logic/GB and it never works lol. You have saved me from my hundreds of hours of unsuccessful experimentation. This literally might be my favorite TH-cam video I’ve watched out of tens of thousands.

    Another great tip is to use third party IRs, they help a lot to make the amps sound more realistic. 👍

    Quite surprised at how good that Logic tone is... Well done! Really makes you rethink things. Apple makes some of, if not the best, stock plugins I’ve heard. Only thing I would suggest to you is making the snare a little bit lower in volume next time. Listening on an iPhone, so I could have a false sense of amplitude, but it seemed a little too aggressive in comparison to the rest of the track. :)

      Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I used Addictive Drums 2.0 for this video, I've switched to Perfect Drums meanwhile and I'm getting much better mixes now which translate a lot better on other speakers than my home speakers!

  • @joelcoool
    @joelcoool 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This surprised me so much. I've used the logic amp sim loads for non-metal tones and I like to think I have a good ear for tone but got really sick of sifting through horrible metal amps & I was sure something would be usable in the plugin. This sounded really really good!

  • @Locoandchooch
    @Locoandchooch 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Sounds good. I know how hard it is to dial a decent tone on logic. But it definitely works.👍🏼

    Great job with the native Logic Pro plugins! There are so many free amps and impulse responses out there that you could use to make good guitar tones. But I like what you did with what you had.

  • @satchito
    @satchito 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This was great!! Thank you for sharing this, I was starting to consider buying some plugins but for a demo recording, this is more than enough!
    For anyone who could find it useful, cut just a liiitle bit of the high frequencies in the graphic EQ pedal and maybe play with the gain knob in the Brown Head amp if you want a bit more of a thrash sound. I recorded Metallica's Escape as a test and it sounds very decent! just needs good mixing and whatnot.

    Thank you for this. I'm a midi-only guy using Real Eight from MusicLab. I've used Guitar Rig 5 for years but finally starting to use Logic's amp designer. This vid really helped me start weening my dependency on GR5. Now I need to learn some Neck Deep-ish pop-punk sounds! Thx.
