    I can't front, I totally drank the Kool-Aid for this show. I had the XT-7 AND the Interceptor toys AND was aiming them both at the screen every single shiow as well as with the 3 VHS-exclusive videos. If 3D made such a huge comeback, interactive-combat shows can't be that far behind. Nostalgia's a hell of a drug.

      Actually it got great ratings among kids and adults. Season 2 was written. However Mattel shut their studios down after season 1 and the toy was kind of dead by then (plus was under pressure from parent groups for violence in the show). Writers/directors then went on to do Bablyon 5 I think.

      @@bugraerkan2663 I would say that Jessica Steen has also done well for herself as an actor, and even early in her career here she was pretty darn good. As for Sven Thorsen, of course this is him! This is actually how he usually looks in movies and on TV, I believe, with the facial hair.

    • @RoseSupreme
      @RoseSupreme 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well, too bad. This is how the world works. You've got no choice. I'm all for original ideas, but the sake of reboots is to bring something back into the modern age. They have to modernize it though, otherwise it'll be called outdated. Unfortunately critics and old fans can't accept most modernizations.

    • @JR-ju3kj
      @JR-ju3kj 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robertnrobretual2749 Good stories are always being retold over and over again in different ways, though. Mythology, folklore, fairy tales and William Shakespeare's works are a good example of that. As long as a Captain Power reboot is done in an exciting, entertaining way that feels different and resonates with people, I would love to see it happen.
      For years, I have wanted to see someone reboot Captain Power and turn it into a movie.More original ideas are fine and always welcome but I do think that the time is right for a Captain Power reboot, especially with the technology and visual effects available of today.

    So Power Rangers was a better Captain Power rip off?

      @str8dominican 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Mixey no. Power rangers is repurposed footage of a Japanese show that has been around since the sixties.

    Captain Power, the original Faceman from The A-Team! Then you have Lord Dredd, just Darth Vader without his mask on! Just another Star Wars rip off show!

    I was 3-to6 yr. old when I watched that in Poland. (born 1983)
    I must Say that this was the best s-f I ever saw.
    You all must know that C-P. wasn't series made to become a S-F series, they originaly made this to sell toys, they never thought that Captain Power will make such an impression.
    Glad that I have all the eps. ;)

      Well, the writers and actors did the best job they could, so I think they must have hoped to make some kind of lasting impression. They didn't have to try as hard as they did.

    Ahh, this brings back memories of my childhood. I would sit in front of the old Panasonic TV in my little chair and watch episodes of Captain Power, Voltron, Thundercats, GoBots, Transformers, He-Man, G.I. Joe, C.O.P.S., Silverhawks, etc. while eating Chips Ahoy Chewy's and drinking milk. The 80's were a great time for cartoons.

    Been trying to remember the name of this show for about a decade. Luckily, today I Googled "robot pterodactyl" and found it. Life is now complete. This blew my fucking mind when I was 5 years old. Now I'm 29 and it's still incredible.

    i was 10 and when chase died i cried for a solid hour vowing then and there not to care about a tv character.,...who else had deep feelings for the soldiers of the future?

    • @rbrtck
      @rbrtck 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, Jennifer's death hurt. It felt so much like death in real life: just so shocking and unfair. I think I always felt especially empathetic with this character because of where she came from and what she had to overcome. She was admirably strong and competent, and in the end, truly heroic, but she was also a sweetie and a cutie, and perhaps the most "human" of them all. In a way, she was proof that humanity could be saved, and gave everything she had to the cause. 😢 The dead do not suffer, though, and I felt for Power, too. I never thought I'd see him so afraid and cry like that, but Jennifer was special to him.
      Part of this tragedy was that he never got to express his feelings for her, aside from his pride in her and how happy and grateful he was that she was with the team. But death is often unexpected, and we know how they felt about each other. At least Jennifer got to express her feelings out loud at the end.
