Fantastic videos. I just bought a woodfire today, brand new on FB marketplace for a bargain price. I'm so excited to try all of your recipes - thank you for sharing!
Great video! I tried your reverse sear method with a porterhouse on the woodfire. It turned out amazing. I forgot to flip the steak during the smoking portion though, rookie mistake.
Hi Cj! This was my first meal on the wood fire grill. My wife and I thought the smoke was too much and had a weird taste. I then saw your tips video after and see you now recommend putting the meat in after the grill is ready. Just wondering if you can ad a disclaimer in this video. Don't want anyone to be disappointed with a Tomahawk like we were. It's not your fault, we’re just not used to intense smoke... Yet. Keep up the good work! Love the content.
Glad you left this comment! Will definitely heed your advice. Not a huge fan of super smoke flavor over here either. Would hate to "ruin" such a beautiful piece of meat.
Dude, been a casual follower of your videos for awhile, you’ve helped me with cooking on my own ninja foodi, and now these wood fire grill videos??? I have to get one of these, ASAP! I live in a downtown apartment and this would be ACES!!! Food looks fantastic! And your instructions inspire so much confidence!!!
Oh wow I wasn't expecting it to sear that good 7:00 . Been watching a bunch of videos on this grill and thanks to your videos I'm definitely going to get it now.
just started your vids. great advice. got the woodfire a couple weeks ago and love it. cooked my first brisket tonight and it was awesome. ordered the Temp Spike tonight on your recommendation. Thanks for the vids!!!
I’m in the Uk waiting for the xl pro to be discounted I’ve given my Weber genesis to my daughter I’ve already got the Weber blue tooth probes no good for the rotisserie I can’t find the discription can you give me the brand of the probes
One thing about my wife's Ninja Foodie grill is that it grills hella-fast. I'm the stick-burner / pellet-grill guy. She's got so much Ninja crap, that I felt it would be no problem for me to buy this new Ninja smoker offering -under the guise of taking it with us when we RV. Did burgers and dogs on it, yesterday and things turned out perfectly. Will be trying out a rack of pork-ribs next. Yes, I did push my luck ordering the optional griddle, table-stand, combo basket, cover & tote-bag. Ya see....she was so happy that we got a tax refund this year, I just slipped those extras in while she was still euphoric. Now, I can get rid of my Blackstone and my table-top kamado (formerly used for RV'ing. I am into simplicity now and this Ninja is a do-it-all for her & I.
I'm not being a smart ass or disrespectful; just trying to be helpful. "...for her and I" should have been "...for her and me". Sometimes we over correct things but here's a tip: we say "for me", not "for I" so "for her and me" would be correct. Same with to me, at me, on me... take out the other person if you're not sure. If it's "to me" then it's "to him/her and me". I had to learn English as my third language :)
@@hienvu1714 gets a gold star for grammaticallative correctedness. Daffy Duck was my englush teecher. This post is about Ninja Woodfire smoker stuff....not about how bad me englush iz. "Halp us Jon Carry..."
You think the outlet in the bed of a truck would be sufficient to power the woodfire grill for a mobile cook? Got an outlet in the back of my Silverado but I haven't ever used it.
I have a few pits but find myself really liking what this Ninja Woodfire can do; steaks looked great. Not sure I can justify buying one but that never stopped me before...LOL Thanks!
Do yourself a favor and get the Recteq bullseye RT-B380. It is so much more capable than the Ninja grill, plus it holds a lot more food. After their discount it cost slightly more than the Ninja, but it's well worth the significant upgrade.
@@illiniwood The new Bullseye is something I've been eying but I have a kettle, SmokeFire, and kamado. Maybe after I see a while of reviews to see if there are any bugs that need to be worked out. This just looks good for a quick weekday meal as I only cook for 2 most times. I also like technology stuff so it kind of intrigues me a bit LOL
Hey CJ, first Merry Christmas to you and yours. Just did my first tomahawk per your video and it came out great. I used a rub I use on ribs and bbq, the only problem was the meat tasted salty. Should I skip the kosher salt next time?
Tell Louise l'm sorry. If l don't subscribe now, l may forget. Loved the talk between the two of you. Good luck! Can't wait to watch the other shows this week.
Loved the video. I’m about to start smoking my tomahawks in the the ninja wood fire but I don’t have a temp spike. I’m goina have to wing it. How long roughly should I smoke it for?
Thanks for the video man. I live in an apartment complex and have a balcony. Does this put off a lot of excess smoke? Or is it pretty manageable? Community doesn’t allow charcoal grills but they allow electric ones and I am interested in this product. Do you like it overall? Thanks.
I would definitely love to try your West Coast shake. We use Rufus Teague on every meat we cook we just can’t get enough of it. We would definitely be up to try whatever you suggest ❤
That looks absolutely 💯. I have to get this grill in the new year. I took notes on how to prepare the tomahawk Steaks. Can't wait to try it out. Thanks CJ hope mi e come out as delicious as yours did 😋😋😋
Just bought the temp spike on Amazon using you discount code for 30% off Amazon is running a coupon also for an extra 10% off so I got it for $49.78 from $79.99 thanks for the code about to smoke and reverse grill a tomahawk also
Amazing videos Good Sir... but I have to say, those fat caps on the edge of the steaks were BEGGING to be seared a little bit too, just to get a light crisp on 'em. lol :D Anyway, keep up the great work! :)
Those look delicious and I can't wait to try my new Woodfire Grill - The grill arrived a couple days ago, but it's in the low 20's here in the midwest & I'm waiting on an extension cover. I saw some beautiful 2+lb tomahawks at Sam's Club that were about $32-35 each - I can probably eat 1 pound, so what do you recommend that I do with leftover steak?
Unfortunately i can't afford one right now, but maaan i will hopefully buy one of those ninjas one day just to make these 2inch fat tomahawks!!! Absolutely drooling now
Hey CJ love your videos but unfortunately Ninja Australia do not think we are worthy of this product 😢. If you got any pull at Ninja please let them know we want this 😉 😁
Hell I would if I could get a call back. They’re communication with their influencers is less that’s good…. I know it just got to the UK, so hopefully it’s heading your way.
Just FYI you can still let it rest if you want but when you reverse sear you do not have to let your steak rest at all not even for a second that's the point of reverse searing so you do not have to wait and let your protein rest.

Does the smoker get hot underneath? Like do I have to make sure it’s not on a plastic table?
No it’s up on “feet” so the table sits on is safe.
Discount code for the thermometer is not working
Does the lid have to be closed to grill with no smoke?
No it doesn’t.

Did you use smoke pellets? Or did you just set the it to the smoke setting w/o pellets?
I used pellets too. Gave it the smoke flavor and grilled too.

I’d have to look in the manual. I have a Silverado too, need to give a try.0

Hopefully soon!
How long did this take from start to finish??
Just under an hour

Yeah I think it’s great for balcony’s. You’re going to get some smoke for sure, but shouldn’t smoke out the neighbors. I dig it for sure.
