We went from Hamburg to Milano by train in 1962 and my dad showed me the "wonder" of the church in Wassen! You can see the church three times while the train was climbing and I was blown away! Thanks for the video!

Ein großartiger Film. Faszinierend der perfekte Pflegezustand der schweizer Dampflokomotiven. Und immer wieder eindrucksvoll wie der Zug in Wassen auf drei Ebenen die Talstufe überwindet. Gebaut ohne Computer, nur mit der klassischen Mathematik von sinus und cosinus.

Marvelous video. I used to take the train (Dampflok) from Schwäbisch Gmünd to Stuttgart often in 1955-56 and remember when we approached a tunnel, a number of us would move to the windows to close the briefly. It was loads of fun on the train, especially the people. Train stations were more fun in those days as well.

Der Speisewagen des Fotos Fotojagdzuges hat einen eigenen Stromabnehmer, ebenso wie viele Schweizer (und einige deutsche) Speisewagen. Es wird angehoben, wenn der Wagen nicht an eine Lokomotive gekoppelt ist, um Strom zum Kochen und für andere Bedürfnisse von der Oberleitung zu erhalten. Die Stromabnehmer fällt automatisch, wenn Lokomotive Stromversorgung angeschlossen ist, oder wenn der Wagen beginnt zu rollen über einer bestimmte (sehr geringe) Geschwindigkeit, oder wenn der Fahrdraht bricht.
Magnificent scenery, superb locos and excellent driving and train control. Pity about the hot slidebar, but as a steam driver myself thats one of the hazards of steam. I just wish that I had been there. Thank goodness for bi-di signalling !
Yes cool video . 1971 i took TEE Milano to Zurich on my Euro Card ... just so happened there was access to the rear Rear Cab so i stayed there till the TEE .. finished transiting the St Gothard Tunnel Complex . However it was the Poorest Snow Season for 40 Yahra . Next year 1972 was even worse , less snow for Sixty Years ... However there have been some really great years since ... I have a Marklin Z guage with Crocodile loco's and SSB Carriages.. so hope to model the Gothard rail system ... easy now theres a return link with the new Tunnel lol .. Again a Great Video ... Takes me back to 1953 - Travelling from Wein Sudbahnhof behind a Class 50 Kreigslok - the run up the Semmering Climb from Glognittz to Semmering was epic - it was so easy behind a Diesel. It took most of the day to get to Klagenfurt.

Das für mich Überraschendste war, dass es in Göschenen, 100 Jahre nach der Elektrifizierung der Gotthardstrecke, noch (oder wieder?) einen Wasserkran gibt.
Die Schweiz. Ein Paradebeispeiel wie Eisenbahn funktionieren kann. Alte Maschienen und Wagen sowie Gleisanlagen - alle in Top Zustand. So war das auch einmal in Deutschland. Glückwunsch an die Veranstalter: hier scheint einfach alles zu passen.
A well assembled compilation from so many videographers. It was interesting to see the use of an Re 4/4 with just two cars for some of the photographers; I’ve never seen anything like that done! No risk of the steam special racing away 😊.
Es sind unglaubliche schöne Bilder und man kann sich an den sehr gepflegten Dampfloks(*Elefanten*) einfach nicht satt Sehen und dann diese Geräusche dazu
Very very very Beautifully by views of competition between steam train and an electric engine.. And views of moving of triple stream engines also interested. So these are very different in different of experience with enjoyfully. Thankyou sir for this amazing creativity..Lovely deer steam Locomotives.
Hermoso recordar tantos viajes en tren en mi infancia (tengo 76 años) con mis padres y hermanos entre Pontevedra y Madrid. Con locomotoras mucho menos potentes y combustible (carbón, claro) seguramente menos energético del de estos "elefantes". El viaje duraba muchas horas (quizá un día completo) y la parte gallega del mismo era impresionante por los cañones del Sil y las montañas de Orense y León, el túnel del Lazo, etc. Muchísimas paradas, algunas largas, muy ruidoso y trepidante el convoy. No sabíamos, desde luego y por otro lado, que empezábamos a envenenar el clima: el CO2 es casi indestructible y entonces empezábamos a acumularlo.
Astreines Video, einfach Klasse. Muß ein Vermögen gekostet haben beide Gleise für diese Sache zu sperren. Keine Einahmen durch den normalen Güterverkehr.
Danke Herr Rademacher für ihr Kompliment. Seit der Gotthard Basistunnel offen ist, sind solche Fahrten möglich. Über die Kosten weis ich nicht Bescheid, um aber diese erträglich zu halten wurde ein sogenannter Fotografen Zug nebenher geschickt. (Nicht immer zur Freude der Zuschauer!) Von diesem aus ergaben sich aber div. sehr Interessante Blickwinkel. Und geben dem Video diese spezielle Dynamik, die sie selten in einem Eisenbahn Video finden. Werner Schwab
