I travel between Stockholm and Gothenburg (Göteborg in swedish) severel times every year and i love it! Train is the best way to travel, relaxing!😊❤
Amazing! Train is the best option🤩😆
Why? The trains are almost always late, and sometimes by hours because of whatever stoppage! I can't trust the railway companies at all. I either take the bus or buy a ticket for >3h earlier than needed.
Hehe! Not in England : ) Not anymore.
perfect as white noise, it makes me sleep like a baby

You too!!! LOL!!!. I love watching these in the middle of the night when I can't sleep. If you have a large monitor and lean in close, you'll swear you're riding the train.
Fall asleep im 12 minutes💕🙂
@@pjwarez. I just came upon this while surfing and OMG. Started watching this on my computer and was out in 5 minutes. Somehow very soothing
Until the first TH-cam commercial break wakes you up 😤😡
I love this footage. When i go to full screen on the computer it feels like i'm actually there. And thank you for recording this and not adding silly music. Just the low rumble of the train speeding along.
Thank you for sharing this and the other videos of your beautiful train systems. Signed, a jealous American.
Yuup Amtrak has nothing on European railways always looking forward to go back to Europe to travel on a train
Thanks!
Thank you so much for your support!😊👏🏼
I had to look it up; 125 mph is how fast that train goes. 😮
Yes, I calculated it at exactly 200 kph or 125 mph too using the kilometer markings.
Thoroughly enjoyed my trip through good farming land and timber forests at a steady but safe speed. Sweden has certainly some delightful scenery and some parts reminded me so much of parts of the UK and also of my time living in New Zealand in the North Island. A lovely video and thank you for providing me with an interesting ride on a very smooth express train.
Never ceases to amaze me how quiet smooth and fast rail is in most of Europe. Such a difference from N America. Over here the most commonly replaced part in a loco is the air horn. Because they are leaning on it every 2 minutes.
The major reason is that this route he is running has no railway crossings anymore.
@@acmenipponair Yes I realize that. In Europe they are sensible enough to realize the only way to idiot proof the interaction of rail and automobiles, its to ensure it happens as little as possible. Here? The Automobile rules. And many people die every year because they think they are faster than the train, and they can see a path around the blockades (if any exist that is).
On the other hand, our Swedish trains stop operating when there is a leaf on a track or a little bit of snow.
A third common reason is migrants who steal copper wires and stop traffic. We call them zigenare.
On the bright side, American trains derail every second day while our trains tend to stay on the tracks.
One of the most critical parts of true high-speed rail is complete grade separation from any other traffic, so horns aren't needed, because there's no crossings, at all.
You have Brightline now in Florida and looks pretty nice..
awesome and amazing cockpit view of this great express±
I can't believe how smooth the ride appears to be.... the rails are so straight, no gaps between the joints... amazing.
There are no joints its continuous welded rail.
Thats gold filigree laid into the handle
"joints" - the only joints most European tracks nowadays have are at switches.
@@acmenipponair I think I"ll have to disagree with you, that would almost be impossible. There are joints, it's how the joints are joined together, matched and welded some how. I've seen how they are "cad welded" in the states and I used to cad weld in the electrical field to ground buildings.
@@jayharder2598 There is another type of expansion joint for long welded rails, it is a longitudinal oblique shunt which causes expansions or retractions to take place in a sliding manner. This is why the rides are very smooth.
I'm from South Africa 🇿🇦 this is just an amazing video, love the landscape and just the speed of your railways
Beatiful cabride in the snow , greetings from Assen in the Neyherlands !
Beautiful train and wonderful landscape! Right now, with 32°C at 8 PM this is the best thing to see
Excellent ride, wonderful scenery thank you for posting. I especially love how the cities are on the screen as you pass them. Great work staff
Howdy from Temple, Texas, USA! Thank you for the ride.
Houston, TX USA here....never thought i'd run into a fellow Texan here 😂
Temple Texas. Was mentioned in the movie no country for old men. From Australia
Welcome to Sweden
Well, howdy back at y'all from San Antonio!
Only 6% of Texans use "howdy" as a greeting anymore...
I'm loving this ride through Sweden. Reminds me of parts I've seen of Canada and Alaska.
I remember the part of that movie where Temple was mentioned.
I've been through Temple many times. Folks there are very proud of their High School Football Team!
This is another awesome cab ride across the most beautiful
scenery ever in Sweden thank you.🇸🇪🇸🇪🚈🚋🚋🚋🚋🇸🇪💨
Blizzard? Ohhhh, you mean that very light snow halfway thru the video 😂
I fast-forwarded through the video looking for the snowy part, and never found it 🙁
Det är så coolt att få se tågens POV och det är allt mysigt också!
I lived in Sweden for 5 years (Gävle and Stockholm) travelled a fair bit and I can tell you the trains are so much smoother than the ones here in Canada. I'm born and raised in Toronto I still live in Toronto and this country of mine is going to shit. Shout out to Sweden sending love from Toronto 💙
Hi Jay from Mississauga !
Totally agree !
I'd love to get a summer home there. But too many dangerous islamistst and africans.
It's probably worse off with you in it...

Thanks for this. I thoroughly enjoyed this trip. The country side, the towns, the stations and rail yards, every bit. Now I want to take this trip in person!
I’ve done this trip in Summer and Spring…loved it.
The pre-spring weather in Sweden can be somewhat..tricky. and confusing.
one day little sun and blue sky the next some snow and next even more snow..and rain and then sun again..and repeat..haha u really never know how to dress if u dont look out the window😂
Good ride..=)
wonderful video...Thx from Germany
Thanks for the ride total blast

Fantastisch super Aufnahmen Danke für die schöne bilder ....Greetings from Germany Cologne....my Trip San Francisco / Chicago with amtrack ❤❤❤❤
Nice ride and quite too. Good job
We’re glad you liked it!
Rail Transportation is very nice to enjoy the nature.
Very nice trip,. Thank you. 🩷
good . the views looks heaven .
Well done, thanks!
Greetings from Sydney OZ. Great trip on a rather warm day. 🏳🌈

2:47:17 Västlänken bridge, not in use yet
Thank You so much for the journey!
So smooth and quiet these rails. Lovely snow footage 😮
wish we had beautiful smooth fast passenger rail in the US. Most of ours shares tracks with freight trains and the track is so beat up that you'd never travel at these speeds.
Great video! Wish our trains were this fast and smooth.
I did this route in the opposite direction just after Christmas 2023 as part of a European adventure (I'm Canadian). It's so neat to see some of the places I remember from that train journey. We had similar weather - nice and rainy in Gothenburg, then snow about a half hour out and all the way to Stockholm. We can't wait to go back to Sweden, it's a beautiful place!
the trains in Sweden still drive in the left side like the road traffic did until 1967.
Interesting journey with the change in weather. Thanks for doing this. 😁
Love from Australia.🐨
Beautifull landscape and amazing technology. Thanks from France.
Sympa ce voyage en pays Viking, et paradis du Death Metal (Bloodbath, Entrails, Grave . . .) Beau pays et merci pour le voyage.

Epic. Thank you from Alabama.
This is now my fave video of yours that I've seen so far.
I like to watch these vids at night- it's a nice way to ground yourself mentally and to unwind.
this is excellent! 🤩 just discovered this channel and subbed!
Thank you for the support!
I watch cab view train videos from all over the world (one of my favorite things 2 do) and there isn't an ugly continent or country, but the Scandinavian nations are one of my favorite places to see the world from the rails.
Yes, very nice view N looks very good railroad system! US
I just love the European Rail Systems.
Not really European, more Scandiwegian.
@@petergaskin1811 Its European. Enough said.
This is so far the best cabin ride in harsh weather. Thanks to Swedish Railcam.
A good work, greetings from Enghien in Belgium
Really enjoyable journey but, I would like the speed of the train showed and the signal and sign meanings.
Enjoying this from the UK beautiful forests fantastic journey ❤
After a good joint full screen and the traveling without moving begins. Stay safe, big thnx for the trip👍🏿🙂♥️🚂
16:37 why did they stop? It was out in the middle of nowhere. no one getting on or off.
Haven't traveled Swedish trains but have ridden the Japanese Shinkansen several times....this looks equivalent; fast, smooth, relaxing. Fun video.
Man that looks smooth.
Wow that is really hauling! 🚞
why are there 4 rails every time they enter/exit a tunnel? starts with a little "V" shape and its almost like dual gauge but its ONLY in the tunnels. Ive tried to google it but im coming up short. Beautiful country, looks a lot like home. i need to visit sometime. going to be watching more of these
They are there because of if the train derails, the wheels are still in tact with the rail which prevents accidents. It’s the same on bridges😊
Absolutely great while tripping😂those tunnels😮
WOW! Sweden looks so developed! And with those cute little red houses. :)
A beautiful country! I love snow, well in some cases. Winter even here in NY seems to last way too long but it is lovely to view
That ain't slow. That's cooking along pretty good there. Puts me to sleep, though.
I have never been in Sweden and this is the first cabview experience that I have seen of your country. I must say that I am impressed. The ride is extremely smooth, I have seen only a few level crossings, near Stockholm construction seems to have blasted quite a few hills to make way for the tracks (my topographical knowledge is lacking I thought Sweden was mainly hilly inland and not near the coast) and overall it is an idyllic picture to look at with the countryside moving past.
There are a few odd things looking at this footage from my Dutch perspective. First trains drive on the left, I assume this is a remnant of the past? Very few station on the line (maybe this is the high speed line and there are other more rural lines or the Swedish interior is very sparsely populated?). And some discontinued small railyards which always hurts my soul, I assume there was more rail traffic way back when and that most of it moved to trucks.
Overall a beautiful depiction, thank you.
Sweden is hilly at the coast too, but the region this train passes is very flat by Swedish standards (maybe not by Dutch standards). This is a high speed line that doesn't stop at many stations. A lot of stations that are passed in this video is used by other trains. But yes, Sweden is sparsely populated everywhere.
I have a question, are the points (switches you might call them there) heated? I only ask because it seemed to me that though there was snow covering all the sleepers and surrounding areas right up tot the rails, the points seemed very clear?
Thank you for your question! Yes that’s correct. Nice spotting😊
Schönes Video 👍🏻
Aber wo genau war jetzt der Blizzard? Oder sind damit die drei Schneeflocken in der Mitte des Videos gemeint?
Blizzard ... RailCowGirl: hold my beer 😂
Немного не привычно видеть поезд, едущий по левой стороне)
Makes me realize why the Scandinavian folks settled Minnesota.
Den där tiden i Sverige är ju så vacker
Excellent
I was on a prettier train yesterday in Florida that cruised at 125 MPH. I think trains like brightline would take off if given half a chance.
Interesting that trains in Sweden drive on the left hand track. Their cars used to drive on the left hand side of the roads.
Thanks for the super video. maybe you could show the train speed too some time.
I slept through the night! ❤🎉
the Swedish should be very happy with such beattyfull surroundings.and i am sure they are.keep it clean my friends!
I’m a new subscriber watching from HONOLULU HAWAII USA 🇺🇸
Does the amount of snow match the elevation gain or loss? It seems that way. It's also fascinating to see the railroad ties "recede" as a function of camera ISO speed. It's like the stagecoach wheels spinning "backwards" in old American western movies.
And THIS is the X2000 class electric consist that Amtrak resisted over the Acela. As usual, the American railroad system falls behind.
I believe that train has a speed of 125 mph?
The DC northeastern corridor, which is the only electric section on that eastern line, is limited in speeds because of tight turning radius, tunnels restrictions.
Even the Aclea is throttled back for most of its route, if it hits its top speed is for very short token distances.
It's a problem of old infrastructure not upgraded for decades.
Trump cut the funds on California's high speed train, it's been restored. The California line, diesel electric is extremely popular.
He is also responsible for the Acleas delays as for 4 years the railway had zero support.
They have open new long routes, one a 2 day trip, I believe from up north to Florida.
Updating...
The Aclea can only hit top speed for 48 miles, in short sections, because of infrastructure.
What kind of a Blizzard was that - in Sweden ???
I got my love of trains from my Dad 💜
faster! faster! lol awesome vid!
Nice. The train station looked a bit like the one in ABBA video.
Interesting that trains drive on the left in Sweden !
It's a carryover from the old convention that applied to the road system as well.
The roads were changed to right hand in 1968 was it? And there may still be some awkward spots, like the roundabout south of Skanstullsbron in the Hammarby district of Stockholm. I used to have to pass through there by motorcycle back in the 1980s and it still gives me the shivers.
At 34:30 the Swedish King's summer castle can be seen to the right.
Seeing the graffiti art on the side it felt more like Jersey than Sweden. Great views!!
How fast was this train going most of the time?
Hur kunde det vara snö från förre Hallsberg till förre Skövde och inge snö förre och efter Katrineholm och Skövde
Great video !
What is this train's average speed ?
😎
Hi! I just scrolled past here, no real connection to trains. The X2000 trains operate at up to 200 km/h. This trip covers 398 km (according to sources) and takes 2:58 h, for an average on this trip just under 140 km/h.
Looks like 80 mph
@@DommoPA
200 km is 120 mph
The scenery is beautiful and sound is restful. But, where was the blizzard?
Awesome 🇸🇪😀
Some blizzard, I've seen more snow in July at Skegness.
do euro trains not have to blow the horn when they cross intersections? Pretty big deal in the USA.
Only if the intersection is non guarded i.e no barriers. However most of cross intersections have been rebuilt to be seperated by bridge/tunnel. Atleast thats how it works in Sweden, do not know about the rest of Europe...
Its a safety mandate in the usa
I have a question: is etcs Level 3 installed on the route or what train protection system is running on the express routes in Sweden?
We run ATC2 on most of our rail in Sweden. There is a little ETCS up north but I think it’s lvl 2
what was that beeping noise? Was that to wake up the driver if he starts nodding off?
How fast is this going?/looks like 200-220 km/h?
200 km/h👍
Good video! ciao ciao from Italy! Like and sub
I certainly hope so.
YEAH!
How many tunnels are there anyway 😮
Smooth ride
Anyone know why the train almost come to a complete stop for one train I saw pass, but many others the train didn’t slow down?
