It's normal to experience ups and downs throughout your life. Most people glorify the gloom, thinking it is weak or stupid to be happy when we live in such a world with such strong negatives and I find that idea dumb. The world is what you perceive it as.

Finding a moment of genuine joy and happiness like laughing or meet someone who you hasn't seen in while during turbulent moments like dealing with depression or a hard job is the best thing that a man can have. Is awesome how something so small can give a meaning to our whole existence.

somehow seeing these characters that usually portray sadness and depression have a moment of genuine happiness is so fulfilling.
I can't explain it but somehow even when I'm absolutely feeling awful and there's nothing worth smiling about, this video just makes it happen every time. Their happiness is so contagious.
Every time I watch this, I think to myself: "These dudes mostly come from dark/heavy/depressing shows, the writers made them have a lot going on, and if somehow, through all their struggles in their fictional lives, they found a reason to smile and be happy, even for just a moment, then so can you" :)

The movie "There will be blood" marked me so deep when I watched it for the first time, so long ago, I still remember it vividly. Even now when I see scenes of it, it brings back a comforting but chilling feeling. It really opened the door for me for movies like "No country for old men" or "Texas Killing Fields". Just masterful!

There was a long break and I wondered if there simply were none (and what that could mean) or perhaps I lacked the awareness to notice them. I have no idea what they mean when I notice them but they do always bring with them a kind of a pull, you know? It's like I feel a gentle tailwind, urging me to see if there's something there to be found.
Now, today this video was on my frontpage and I guess I bookmarked it because times have been rough lately and I could use a smile. Watched this vid later, read the OP comment and I felt that pull when he mentioned NCFOM. You see, I read the book a few years ago, loved it and watched the movie after. I've yet to watch There will be blood so I jotted it down for watching since I felt that pull. Then I read the comments under that and when I read yours I got the chills.
I can't remember what brought Blood Meridian to my attention back in 2015 but shortly after that I found it in my local library and I loved it. Top 5 of fiction books I've ever read and I tend to only read ones that are widely praised. I've tried buying it a couple times but I haven't found it yet. Some books you just need to own, they're that good.
Pardon my ramblings, I always get carried away when writing or speaking about something I feel passionate about. What I wanted to say was thank you and OP for your comments and of course the fine person behind this video. I'm not religious per se, but my view on that has changed from almost militant atheism to agnostism and these weird coincidences are fascinating. So I'll make the time to watch this movie and find out if there's something there. Thanks again and I hope you all will have a great day and a great year! :)

I feel this video just goes to show that while being depressed, you can absolutely experience moments of genuine happiness, it’s just that those moments are ever fleeting, and only ever surface level.

I don't relate with most of these characters with the exception of K. Dear K...
I always tried to make friends but somehow never made it into that close circle. I was never involved in others' plans, birthdays or celebrations. I was an afterthought and was always asked out of politeness. Years of loneliness combined with the feeling of disappointment in myself and feeling of isolation started to weigh on my shoulders. I find myself crying oftenly. These videos are my favorite, but like I said I can't relate to these characters. I often say "maybe one day" but sense of hope always end up hurting me.

I’ve watched breaking bad 5 times and better call Saul 3 times, walters smile in the second clip was not genuine happiness at all, sauls smile was not genuine happiness because he was a little manic at the time and jesse was smiling at the irony of the situation and was also blackmailed right after that scene
This was my song of senior year high school. Used to listen to it during study hall to get some sleep, as i was pretty damn tired working a job as much as possible, and lifting every night afterwords. Met my goals though. Wouldnt change any of it.
