THanks for the video :) Just to confirm - Airbrush 3x candy : 1x4050 (up to 50:50 mix) Spraygun: 1x candy : 6x4050 Am I interpreting the TDS correctly? (I've been using 3x4030 : 1xCandy2o so would require a lot more coverage to get rich colours yes?).
candy2o are concentrate dyes. Technically they can be mixed in a wide variety of ratios with 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear. When applied as a clean mid-coat color (candy mid-coat over base metallic), a mix ratio of ~ 4050 UVLS Gloss 6:1 candy2o works best. With an airbrush, this ratio may be ~ 1:1. If more candy2o than 4050 UVLS Gloss is mixed, the resulting color has a tendency to bleed, that is leach into top-coated colors. Sometimes, such bleeding can be beneficial, especially when airbrushing graphics such as real fire. The ratio's in this video are Craig Frasers, who is using candy2o as he wishes and may differ from the TDS, as mix ratios are often a matter of subjective preference, especially when used for airbrushing small-area graphics. For spray-gun application, we strongly recommend our 4050 6:1 candy2o ratio, as you wrote. Thank you.
I just bought this paint a couple days ago haven’t used it yet I plan on painting fishing lures with it I grabbed some poison green as well if you make a video on that real quick you’ll beat me to that one too 👍🏽🇺🇸
We plan to make a few how-to paint fishing lure videos, probably this summer. In the meantime, please check out the Wicked Colors Hi-Lite Interference Colors, which mimic the soft pearl-glow over fish-scale. Apply these colors over black, silver, any color, Thank you. wickedairbrushcolors.com/pearl-flakes
