    Great video. Green is a tricky color.
    I do want to say again your videos over last few months have alot of compression artifacts. This wasnt the case until recently. I just watched some from the summer and spring of 2020 and they were perfect.

    It's amazing how different it looks outside. I would've sworn the silver sealer was the lightest! Thumbs up for the recommendation on the clear. I've had it in my cart for a couple of weeks, but now I feel better giving it a shot. Thanks guys!

    Thanks for this video ... exactly the question I had before I start my project in the sense of using different sealer colors on the same project

    Cool. I recently painted my Dynastar skis Poison Green over Sealer silver. I actually added Hot Rod Sparkle White before I layed down the candy, just to add some more bling. Like Chris says; More is more 😁. Really pops in the sun!

    Chris, you make it look so easy. I'm still working on applying candy evenly to my Hot Wheel. But like everything else you have demonstrated I'm getting there - thanks!

    Love the video. That green looks amazing. Now I want to do a project using the silver sealer and metallic gold ground coats in a pattern with a candy over to give a different effect. Been learning a lot from watching Chris in these videos. Thanks for putting these out.

    Really nice! Could I put this over Mission (MMP) pearls or silvers?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, candy2o can be applied over Mission Model paints, as well as other paint types. If applied over water-based paint, scuffing is not required prior to applying candy2o. Thank you.

    Can Createx paints be lightly wet-sanded after curing for say, 48 hours?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We recommend dry sanding Createx paints. UVLS Clears can be wet sanded provided the water is not allowed to pool on the surface, but in general it’s best to dry sand water-based paints. You can experiment with wet sanding Createx paints after 48-hours air drying on a test panel, but you may find dry sanding the best method. Thank you.

    I just did this entire process on a basswood test panel since I plan on using this color on a guitar. I sanding the panel to 320, then applied 2 coats of 6013 silver sealer. I am noting some rough texture from the metal flake that is still present after 6 coats of the candy and 4050 mixture and 3 coats of 2k poly. Would dry sanding after the 6th candy coat have taken care of this problem or should I have applied a few coats of just plain 4050 prior to the 2k poly?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't sand candy2o directly. Best would be to apply a 2 coats of 4050 Gloss Clear, allowing it to thoroughly dry, then dry-sanding it ~ 800-grit sandpaper using a sanding block/ pad to ensure a level finish to apply the 2k poly over. Clean the sanded 4050 with a solvent-based post-sanding (mild) degreaser. Thank you.

    does the wicked metallic white coarse require a white sealer under it?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. We've been mixing the Metallic White Coarse & Fine 1:1, applying that over 6001 Sealer White. Mix Metallic White 3:1 4050 Gloss Clear and thin as needed with 4011 Reducer for our best metallic white that lays down level with excellent metallic-orientation (not to mention adhesion). Thank you.

    How do you calculate the amount of liquid to prepare, so how much CC per square meter,?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Test panels are the best to determine amount of material required for a custom graphic, especially when using candy. As a painter becomes familiar with a particular paint, determining the amount of material required becomes easier, however a test panel is the best way to understand coverage for a particular painting. Thank you.

    Hey Chris and the createx gang something that popped into my mind with this vid, how much footage does this cover ie the mixing cup you used say gave 6 fl oz of paint will that cover a car for one coat? Great look of the new charcoal grey and green

    • @MatteLson66
      @MatteLson66 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry if I jump in as I don’t work for Createx, but 6 fl oz will not cover an entire car. Not anywhere near I think. It’s a great question you have though. A video on the topic of material consumption would be interesting. Or maybe a section in the TDS for each line of paint? I think I have seen something about it in a document but can’t remember where.

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. Generally, painting a complete vehicle with candy2o will require 4 - 6 coats, and need about 1-gallon sprayable for candy2o color. 6oz. sprayable would cover maybe a hood and a fender for 1-coat. Hard to determine. The best way to answer material requirements is by making a test panel, especially with candy2o. Thank you.

    What happens if you're paint freeze? Are they usable?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It generally best not to let water-based paint freeze. We recommend storing in 50 - 80 degree temperatures, in a cool, dark environment, such as a paint cabinet or box kept in a dry closet. Thank you.

    Will the candy work on rc bodies

    • @mikelliteras397
      @mikelliteras397 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There’s different paints to stick to that type of plastic. If you can get a water based clear or inter base made for that, then you could mix the candy into it. If there’s only solvent bases available, then you’d want to use a solvent candy. You could always try some on a cutoff, to see if it sticks.

      Yes it will. These are awesome multi surface paints. I’ve used them on metal panels, plastic Nerf guns, cell phone cases. Prep needs to be right, but the paint works great.
