Sad, but when you move those people into housing units they are going to trash those units just like they do in their tent cities. 99.999% of homeless are not temporarily hardship cases that just need a little help until they get back on their feet. There are plenty of housed ppl not formerly homeless who trash their property or the rented property. Homelessness does not equate to home upkeep or the desire to live in a clean environment.
I agree and furthermore, just looking at how they behave/live...you know why they are homeless. They all have relatives that they have worn out their welcome with their drug addiction and behavior. My sympathy goes out the the people that have to put up with them in their neighborhoods. Shuttering all the mental institutions has also played a large role in this situation.

I work for Multi disciplinary outreach at Hope the Mission and i see alot of negative comments about the work that i do. If youre ever out on the streets driving around and you see blue vests thats my team. Ken Is a good man and i will not allow you people to slander his name. Hope the mission truly does help people...i would know im at the frontline. There are some people that are homeless because they choose it and there are some that are just down on their luck. There are some that want help but there are some that just want to stay exactly where they are at. What you people need to understand is that we try to help all these people no matter what their situation is.

Full time $20 an hour, if your lucky 40 hours a week does pay a $3,000-$3,500 rent. You need 4-5 people to live in one home. The infrastructure of the width of the residential streets can barely support 5x the cars needed to park. The city wasn't even built for this economy. These people don't see a way out, because what's the virtue of suffering to pay bills and never get ahead. THE PROBLEM IS COMMUNICATION. Ask yourself if rent was $700-850 a month give or take, you gotta live with some people. Connect "homeless with homeless" that want to get ahead. If they have a common goal, if they work together. You can save for, a car, a relationship, feeling safe getting sleep. Homeless people watch the news. Give them a number to call or address after each segment related to being homeless. They give out free PHONES.
