    I normally don't comment but I have to say, this is literally the best nutritious meal I have ever made!! I've been trying to eat healthier but it's difficult when I have zero cooking experience and no one else in the household can cook. I took out the onions and added snap peas and it was incredible!! I also used my homemade bbq sauce so I had more control of what I ate. This experience has inspired me to cook more meals, you have my gratitude good sir! Thank you!

    I’m very thankful for you Josh… I had tried everything to lose weight! Everything… I was doing everything as instructed to do so, yet nothing was working….
    A few months ago I started watching your channel and making all your recipes… by some amazing twist of fate, I found 2 packages of 50 meal prep containers on clearance for $3.34 each… sounds stupid, but I felt like it was a sign!! (My heath has been really struggling)…
    So I’m 2 months in and I’ve already lost 15 lbs!! I know that doesn’t sound like much, but I’m a 53 year old female… so my weight loss will be a lot slower at my age!
    So thank you so much!
    Much love from Oregon 🌲🌲💕~Trina~💕

    Hey Josh, thanks looks awesome. I'm going to make it this week. I started cutting about a year and a half ago. My first recipe of yours I tried was spring rolls. I also make rice bowls with ground turkey or ground chicken, sometimes chimichurri sometimes pork tenderloin. Bottom line I went from 264 lbs. to 164 lbs. Wasn't a struggle with these great recipes to make. You're right, calories are king. Thanks again!

    Hi Josh. Thank you again for these low calorie meals. I'm down from 309 to 269 and I want to thank you so much for teaching me. I've been going to the gym regularly and been making some friends along the way. I just want to ask if it's okay if I could swap the kale for spinach or does that mess up the recipe? I've been eating the same thing everyday for the past few months cuz I'm broke. 1 egg in the morning and a piece of whole wheat toast with avocado, 2 cheesy bean and rice burritos from Taco Bell for lunch during the work week (only $2), brown rice and grilled chicken thighs with mixed frozen veggies for dinner and greek yogurt with blueberries as a snack. I literally spend less than $120 per month on food and I'm still solid and healthy. Sometimes I even spend less than that, I've lost around 40 lbs of stubborn body fat in the process so being broke af has some benefits lol. I went from 230 lbs to 190 relatively quick. I've come to realize that I don't ever need to eat at an expensive restaurant again

    Quick question. When adding up calories for the recipes, do you add the calories for the oil that is used?

    • @virionspiral
      @virionspiral ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sure he does since he gives exact amount of oil, plus based on these ingredients, where else would the fat come from in the breakdown. Barely anything other than the oil had fat. The turkey had 7% fat (what he recommended). So 2lbs = 908 grams × 0.07 ÷ 5 = 12.7 g of fat. Then throughout the recipe he added 38g of oil, so ÷ by 5 = 7.6. 20.3 g total with turkey and added oil. His final breakdown had 23 g fats. So makes sense

      Ground turkey is fairly neutral, as far as protein sources go. It takes on more flavor from its surroundings than it provides. It ain't always going to be the best choice for certain meals (meatloaf and hamburgers, for instance) but if you are going to be using a copious amount of spices/sauces/other ingredients, then it can do just fine.
