Aegon the conqueror, was never a prince. Therefore Rheanyra's "gotcha" moment makes little to no sense other than to make her seem morally superior to Alicent. The writers have kicked the Rheanyra/team black bias into overdrive and it is hurting the show. Alicent went from crashing out and cutting a sitting princess in defense of her child to not giving a damn about anyone in her family. It's ridiculous now.
And her husband was a fool and a weak ruler who lived in insecurity. People love blaming everything on Alicent. This was gonna happen the second the king had a son, sorry.
@@AzulApe A weak ruler, yes. Insecurity, not so much. The kingdom was prosperous and stable when he was king. His weak points were his family and those close to him. He made the wrong decisions and was swayed too easily when he got older, and that's what caused all this. Alicent is also a fool and she deserves blame too. She was manipulated by Otto. And Viserys was manipulated by him as well. If Viserys had kept Daemon close to keep Otto at bay, listened to Daemon more regarding Otto, asserted his heir as Rhaenyra, and made sure that she and Alicent stayed close, none of this would've happened.

If you remember in the first season when young boy cut down that man at Rhaenyra's marathon speed dating session... the Blackwoods and Brackens stay on sight.
Many are forgetting that what Alicent genuinely believed didn't really matter, for us it presents her internal conflict. The plans were already underway regardless, Otto Hightower's camp were always planning to put Aegon II on the throne.
yes exactly. do people really think alicent would have been able to stop it? she is the only one with a somewhat decent reason for doing what she was doing
@@MrFredstt no the blackwood lord is a boy of 13 he's far to young to be that guy and it's already confirmed that guy wasn't him , the blackwood lord is a really important character that will show up later like cragen stark.
As she should be. Raised by a good mother and a father who, while he raised her may have been distant, but was probably at his most peaceful before her mother died. When Daemon does go rogue, Baela has people around her that make sure she understands what Daemon does is wrong or erratic. And she has Rhaenyra and Rhaenys as role models. But she also knows of her father's achievements and war experience. So she ended up as her father without his negative aspects.
@19:45, the reason for this little vision is because of the long-lasting belief that Harrenhal is cursed. When Aegon the Conqueror began his conquest, his first attack was on Harrenhal, where Balerion the Dread's fire was so hot, it literally melted the castle. Hundreds of people died that night and since then, every Lord that's been granted Harrenhal has died
Harren the black was basically another Walder Frey, he was stubborn and insulted the conqueror and told him “it’s made of steel, it won’t burn” 😂😂 Aegon said “Bet”.
With Harren the Black having his castle made with weirwood from throughout the riverlands, killing off about all Old God worshippers south of the Neck barring the Blackwoods, as well within spitting range of the God's Eye probably doesn't help. Add the dragonfire and the royal blood of House Hoare, small wonder the place is cursed.
Did you spot the roots coming out of the walls. There might be more to it. Harrenhal might be built on or around a Weirwood tree. Daemon might've been under influence of the tree.
@@TheLegendofQ yeah and not to mention the fact that Viserys’ son, Aegon was around, Rhaenyra and Daemon had a son named Aegon. Like there were 2 different Aegon Targaryans existing at the same time. They be naming all of their sons Aegon then people wonder why Alicent got confused lol.
It’s doesn’t matter because Alicent “misinterpreting” Viserys words didn’t start the war. The council told her that they already was going to do it and had been planning so in episode 9 of season 1. Her saying he changed his mind justified it in their minds.
Remember, there's no social media (or any media). Your average shmuck wouldn't be able to tell a Targ from the local seamstress if the silver hair is hidden (in the show. In the book their freaky purple eyes would absolutely give her away)
i dont really get what his plan there. why didnt he stay on his dragon? did he really plan on soloing an entire garrison? hes really lucky there was just 1 really bad guard on duty. in the books hes on dragon back when he makes his demand and theyre like "yup, youre in charge!"
25:14 It's not even about Alicent being too prideful to admit to a mistake. If you remember the end of season one, the Green Council was already planning to usurp Rhaenyra for Aegon and Alicent telling them about Viserys's last words just gave them the appearance of legitimacy. When Alicent insists "There has been no mistake", she's saying "I fucked up, but this was going to happen regardless."
2:35 Bracken vs BLackwoods is a very old rivalry in Westeros. In season 1, a Blackwood kid killed a Bracken who was making fun of him during young Rhaenyra tour to find a suitor. They are literally the Hatfields vs McCoys of Westeros.
Hell no, the Hatfields and MCcoy dispute is literally a middle school fight compared the Blackwood and Brackens. Their rivalry is so bad that their armies are single handedly the biggest in the riverlands and are always ACTIVE.
Criston becoming hand and Aegon's drinking buddies becoming knights. Making fun of your one eyed brother who is your greatest weapon. Aegon solidifies his reign.
Am stoned watching this reaction and that got me real fucking good. Didn't initially realize what was happening due to the weed, so the delayed realization was just *chef's kiss*
The difference was that they had the element of suprise. At this point, it's been weeks, and the war is imminent. It would be foolish to do it now, as 1. It would be unlikely to succeed, and 2. It would tarnish their image. Especially by using a Kingsguard to do something so dishonorable, Rhaenyra's supporters would just rally around Jace, with more potentially joining them.
@jackvr8818 Well yea. Because Rhaynara stole that away from him, because she wanted her girly parts tickled lol. But we don't talk about that part lol.
@@MyGuy18 She didnt force him to break his vows... hes not angry because of that, hes mad because she didnt want to abandon her duty in the same way he abandoned his. Rheanyra is far from blameless but cristens character is basically just a pathetic inccel whose mad that the girl he liked cared more about the realm then him.
@nullakjg767 No, He told and showed how important his honor and code were to him. Rhaynara ordered her champion and Kings guardman a direct order to get naked. Then he tells her I'm a virgin, and that makes her want him even more. Now, yes, ultimately, him given in is on Cole, since he does bring up a lot of how he has given up his honor for love. That is his demon. But Rhaynara never tries to make up, sympathize, amend, apologize, or damage control the chaos of the situation she created in her self act of wanting to sleep with a forbidden man. Both are actions that she then continuously continues to do. That led to the majority of the Realm disliking her for having bastard children. Giving the nobles the right to believe in her claim to the throne is weak. Amongst the extensive list of critical mistakes she has made. If you notice. The vast majority of Rhaynaras biggest and most powerful enemies are of her own makings. Cole is only one.
@@MyGuy18So Rhaenyra is to blame when she is way younger and drunk at the time? He cares about his honor so much that he went and slept with the queen mother as well. The directors already said that he wanted to sleep with rhaenyra. How can Cole be mad about breaking his oath when he's breaking it again with alicent?
28:22 It's actually Dreamfyre (currently ridden by Haelena) who is likely the mother of Daenerys' dragons. We see a few short glimpses of her and she is very similar to Drogon's design
They're the Hatfields and McCoys of the Game of Thrones universe. If even a single chicken went missing from a Blackwood village, even if a fox took it, they'd go to war with House Bracken.
Why this vision was important and why he saw young Rhaenyra, young Rhaenyra loved him the most, she was the only one who understood bin and knew he's real him , old Rhaenyra called him pathetic and this broke him, daemon desperately wants the love , support and approval of the people he cares about ( his brother and wife ) and that's why everytime he do something bad he take action ( Rise an army for her defeat all his brother enemies) to show them bis worth and that he'll do everything for them ( not for the throne) , here we see him crying cause he was remorseful it was truly a mistake and he knew old Rhaenyra doesn't Trust him . Daemon Always defend his actions when he thinks it's right but here we see him crying meaning that he really didn't asked them to do that
@@olafharoldsonnii4713 Yep. Daemon wanted to be by Viserys' side, as his hand, his kingsguard, whatever role. Viserys always doubted him, and now Rhaenyra is too. Not to say he doesn't deserve it, he does act out and go rogue whenever things don't go his way. And sometimes his ideas do not pan out, like blood and cheese. But at his core he's an insecure brother and husband who just wants approval, but his actions are misinterpreted.
I'd argue it's the opposite. Daemon's mind conjured the younger Rhaenyra because he wants to see the Rhaenyra who hadn't discovered the real him yet. The one who was too young and inexperienced and naive to know that deep down inside Daemon IS pathetic. He wanted the young girl who still hero worshiped him instead of the adult partner who is disappointed in him and disgusted with his actions.
@@vadalia3860 That’s more similar than not. He wants approval from those closest to him. Young Rhaenyra is the one who most recently gave him that approval. Inside, he is pathetic sure, but he just wants to be loved.
@@FranciscoHOS I'm not arguing about whether he wants approval, I think he does. I was disagreeing with the idea that young Rhaenyra was the "only one who understood him" and "knew the real him." She didn't. She was a star-struck child, wow'd solely by the fact that Daemon was older and "cooler" because he didn't take anything seriously. Daemon does want approval but his mind summoned the younger Rhaenyra because he wants the same easy approval that he didn't have to actually put in any effort into earning that she gave him when she was a child.
Poor Diana going unnoticed again. The servant that was sent away by Alicent in season one with silver and the moon tea. After Aegon ... She's the one the guy tipped for ale (and slapped) The one at Ulf's left. She was also seen terrified while serving Aegon but he didn't recognize her. (he was to focused on his squire throwing peanuts at him)
because nothing really happened. it just affirmed what everyone knew since the moment aegon was born. it makes rheanyra look dumb. i bet you could skip this episode entirly (minus the 1 minute of braken conflict) and you wouldnt even notice anything was off.
Because the writing was shit, most of it was filler and not even canon to the books. HBO did the same thing in episode 9 of season 1 and everyone complained, yet they refuse to learn their lesson.
That was a weirwood tree next to Daemon. and Alys Rivers (the woman in the council room and near Daemon outside) is the bastard daughter of Lionel Strong (who died in fire) and a common woman, perhaps a woods witch. btw there were weirwood roots at the floor growing into the walls of harrenhall when daemon first entered. they showed them.
Alicent would have been cast aside make NO mistake - since Otto and the green council were all plotting to usurp anyway This reveal didn’t change any externals but it did make things internally more clear for Rhaenyra that she HAS to go hard to war
And it brings up further internal conflict for Alicent. This reveal was important to both of them but it changes nothing about this war that would’ve happened anyway.
I wish more people would understand this!!! Alicent of all people has like the least amount of say on anything. She could be the queen and they still wouldn't listen. Kinda like what Rhaenyra's council is also doing. The men are too hungry for blood, the truth doesn't matter at this point!
@@s.8045 I really have to chalk it up to misogyny. I have been in several fandoms where the nuances of a female character making bad decisions and not being an angel made her the most hated character in the fandom. Like Skylar in breaking bad and Wendy Byrd in Ozark. Whereas the men on ‘our side’ got a pass for many of them terrible decisions and behaviour.
Dragon seeds, bastard sons of Targaryen are a real thing, there's a bunch of them Remember that last season we saw one of Aegons bastard childs on that fighting pit
If it hasn't been made clear, dragons are the nukes of their world. When you think about it that way it's actually crazy how quick everyone is jumping to using dragons.
Dont forget what Ulf White said "how would you (the common folk) know what they look like (royalty)" - we see those characters up close and know what they look like, but a simple blacksmith or a septa have prolly never seen them. Thats why it was special to them to see Helaena on the wagon last episode or the coronation of Aegon last season.
Yep. Remember Blood didn't recognize Helaena either. Cheese had to literally tell him he was holding a knife to the Queen's throat. Also neither Blood or Cheese could tell the young Targaryen fraternal siblings apart. lol But to be fair, the 2 kids may have well been identical twins for all practical purposes.
The Blackwoods vs Brackens thing is more complicated than "just some rocks". Those rocks are there to mark the boundaries of their respective (neighboring) land. If someone moved those rocks, it means that they are claiming more land that belongs to the other side. Claiming territory belonging to another ruler has been grounds for war since the dawn of civilization. And if I remember correctly, this kind of shit happened constantly between these two. They were always fighting over land because they were neighbors and always taking land that belonged to the other and then they take it back plus some, on and on it goes. Also, if there is a family out there that has stolen your property, killed some of your people, murdered your cousins and siblings and parents and children, etc, it honestly does not matter what initially started the beef between the two because the blood is so bad between them that they have more than enough hatred to go on forever with revenge killings. And every single time a fight breaks out, whether it is a large scale battle like at the mill, or if it's just two guys in a tavern where one gets shanked, in every single instance it just adds more fuel to the fire of their hatred for one another and the confirmation bias that everything about their rival faction is evil and seeks to destroy you and yours. I mean shit, one of them straight up killed the other in the throne room to impress Princess Rhaenyra when she was still a teenager. And the one that died was mocking the one that killed him before it happened. Both sides hate each other so much, they constantly do things to give the other side justification to straight up kill them. The dumbest motherfucker of them all was that boy that had a sword pointed at him and said "You wouldn't dare" because OF COURSE THEY WOULD, it aint the first time this kind of shit has happened. For him to walk over on his land and say he wouldn't dare kill him was the dumbest thing a person could possibly do.
@2:27 did you guys notice that it was his own sword was in his neck? the pommel of the sword is the exact same when he was showing it off to his friends
@happyslapsgiving5421 Probably one of the Blackwoods. The posturing clearly turned to violence, and whoever didn't die at the Mill ran back to their family's keeps and got them to marshal the troops.
The two boys at the beginning of the episode are from house Blackwood and bracken, those two houses have been beefing for CENTURIES they was waiting for an opportunity to throw hands 💀💀
blackwood vs braken is the best beef in the got universe. there was this time a braken woman called a blackwood girl flatchested as a board, so the king (that was fucking with the blackwood girl at the time) gave to the blackwoods two braken hills called "the teats" (bc they were really close to eachother)
@DiamondDray No, that's not what she is saying. She's literally telling Rhaynara, You and Alicent have, at this point, made too many mistakes and transgressions that there is only war now. It's that Alicent already knows this as facts and is now acting accordingly. Unlike yourself. Don't really like Rheanys, but I do respect her.
That's like in Konosuba when Megumin's Rival thought Kazuma was supposed to give her a baby to kill the demon king, just for it to be their friend's fan fiction xD
25:39 Not exactly, Viserys wasn't just telling a bedtime story on his deathbed. What Alicent heard was Visery's reply to what Rhaenyra had asked him the night before. He thought he was talking to Rhaenyra. To jog your memory: In the episode 8 of S1, when Luke's inheritance of Driftwood came under threat, Rhaenyra came to Viserys alone at night to beg for him to defend her and Luke's claim. During this, she also asked him if he really believed the prophecy of the Song of Ice and Fire and if she would be the one to unite the realms. Viserys did not answer because he was still out of it and under the influence of the Milk of the Poppy but he still her heard her. It's the next day when Viserys starts refusing Milk of the Poppy, shows up to defend Luke's claim, hosts dinner and all. It's after all that, that when Viserys is on the verge of dying later that night and Alicent happens upon him and hears him say "You wanted to know if I believe it to be true" and Alicent is confused, but Viserys is like "Don't you remember? Aegon? His Dream. It is true..." and so on about the Prince That Was Promised. He was answering Rhaenyra.
You guys need to remember stuff The new kings guards are Aegons friends They were with him drinking when blood and cheese walked by. Also the ones who announced him “Aegon the magnanimous” when he heard the small folks issues. That’s why they don’t really care about Cole being their higher up Also the dragons are the kids’, they’re going with them for a reason
4:00 didn't realize this cut of Cole looking down was preceded by the overhead shot of the twins. That's neat, this whole episode looked phenomenal though.
14:50 Also it makes sense seeing as Baelon became a widower early on when his wife Alyssa who was Daemon and Visery's mother, died from complications after childbirth. Baelon never remarried but I believe he did lay with other women.
1:49. These four guys are obviously sons of House Bracken, lords of Stone Hedge. The In-universe McCoys. 1:55. Speak of the devils, and they shall appear, in equal numbers even, four sons of House Blackwood, lords of Raventree Hall. The In-universe Hatfields. 2:22. It's called a smash-cut. I'm more frustrated that we didn't get to see the Battle of the Burning Mill itself. And while it did escalate rather quickly, give these family half a reason, and they'll go to war with each other. However, it should be noted that the Blackwoods can field more troops under their direct command than even their overlords, House Tully of Riverrun. Also, they're both still around by the time of GoT. 6:33. Implying that Laenor has died somewhere in the Free Cities. 8:32. He's got a clubfoot. Nom de Guerres in GoT come about depending on one's appearance, temperment, or actions. 9:24. As Simon said, the main reason is lost, but there are plenty. During the Age of Heroes, the Blackwoods fled the North to escape the Starks as they conquered the Wolfswood. They established themselves in the Riverlands. Some say they ruled the Riverlands until the Brackens, horse-breeders back then, hired mercenaries to depose them. Others say the Blackwoods deposed the Brackens. When House Hoare, Kings of the Iron Islands, eventually invaded the Riverlands, then under the rule of House Durrandon of Storm's End, Lady Agnes Blackwood led the Riverlands in a resistance against them, though Lord Lothar Blackwood betrayed her to House Hoare. And also, House Durrandon are the ones that House Baratheon descend from, they just took their sigil, castle, and words. Both houses usually ended their petty wars with each other through marriage. There is Bracken blood within the Blackwoods, just as their is Blackwood blood within the Brackens. 10:58. You only see it for a second, but the Hightower shields have a green flame. In the books, the flame of the Hightower is actually red, but given they're going to war, maybe the green is for when they're off to war, with the red being during peacetime. 14:18. Considering Aegon's great-grandfather Jaehaerys had one of his Kingsguard, Lucamore Strong, gleded and sent to the Wall for marrying three women and fathering over a dozen children, they know not to make jokes about being sworn to chastity, lest Aegon do the same to them. 18:20 And because the dragons are the equivalent of nuclear weapons. 19:58 Harrenhal might as well be from Resident Evil.

So the eggs that Dany gets, here's a fun fact. George rr Martin has an old Sci fi book that had these creatures that shoot through space like a comet and that wake sleeping magic. It's theorized that those eggs turned to stone and that it was literally a freak coincidence that the "red Comet" that was flying overhead happened when Dany stepped into the pyre, which ultimately hatched the eggs. If the comet hadn't happened, it's possible that Dany burns up in the fire along with the witch and drogo.
Thing is, very few of the commoners have any idea what adult Rhaenyra's face even looks like. She's spent years away from King's Landing and those who have seen her usually have from a great distance or when she was younger. And without her signature hair and and nice clothes... she blends in.
Good chance even with Rhaenyra ruling the Iron throne another civil war or assassination attempt would have happened. What the book shows is that many of the houses bent the knee to the Targaryen's just because of the dragons and before they showed up Westeros was constantly at war.
it absolutely would have happened. as long as there is more than 1 claimant to the throne, civil war and assassination are all but guaranteed. think of all the destruction that woudl have been avoided if roberts assassination of dany actually worked, if ned didnt give cersei a chance to escape.

its not necessarily alicent having too much pride, its that she knows she no longer possesses control over the course of events that are to come. her father, who was essentially the last string of reason on team green, was recently fired n the negligence she had w/ her kids has led them to have their own agenda. even if she told the council that she was wrong n made a mistake, they would all most likely conclude the same thing; that no one has control over their drunkard king n blood has already been spilled. they dont even take aegon seriously.
she never really had control at all. the council didnt care if aegon was the rightful leader or not, they just wanted him on the throne because they believed a woman would have caused instability.
@@michaelhenry3234 that was ottos design, but there are many traditionalists in the realm and many of them truly believe rheanyra can never be queen, from peasantry to nobility. even if rheanyra got the crown with no opposition, she would likely still have to deal with rebellions and/or other houses trying to prop up other targaryens to replace her.

People forget that Otto and the small council already had plans in place to make Aegon the king before Alicent told them about what she heard Viserys say. That's why she said there was no mistake. Aegon was going to be made king regardless.
Alicent and Otto were in a race to find Aegon that first day after Viserys died and Alicent won. She could have brought Aegon to Rhaenyra to bend the knee then, without Otto having the chance to do anything about it.
@@vadalia3860 Yeah no. Because Otto wanted to kill Rhaenyra before Aegon was even crowned. It was Alicent's interference that stopped the assassination.
Yeah, people act like Alicent and her father weren't planning to do it even without Viserys gibberish. We are talking about the woman who told her son that the realm knows in their bone he will be their king waaaay back in ep 6 when Aegon was choking his little dragon at the window, and told her two boys that Helena will be Aegon's queen in ep 7
The story of the song of ice and fire is about Jon snow. This story was told by rhaenyra’s dad when he showed her on the dagger that aegon was so casually playing with at the meeting.
I love how so many people talk smack about team green, while Rhaneys literally tells Rhaynara your no better lol. You literally started a war by going years with out ever telling Alicent and Aemond sorry about the eye, shit got crazy lol. But get mad when the first chance Aemond can get his get back, he takes it. You took his eye for that dragon, so now you can die by that same dragon
To be fair there's like two Aegon's right now, so even without the whole song of ice and fire thing it still would be easy for what he said on his deathbed to not make sense. Then now we add the whole the first Aegon to the mix. Well while the plan was not thought out I feel it was needed as both parties now know there is no avoiding the war. Though to be fair, with the whole perception being important as we saw in previous episodes, Rhaenyra didn't want to be the one to start the war, but the fact Aemond losing control of Vhagar and chomping her kid, and since it seems like most people heard about it, that alone could be enough to point the Greens as the one to start to conflict. Then we had the whole assassination attempt, then Daemon doing his thing, I do feel that it should have been clear there was no avoiding the conflict, but taking their characters and their past into account, this validation might still be needed. I just wish we got longer seasons, so we would have more time to really build on the characters, but I saw a lot of people hate on the episode for the lack of action and that it was slow and boring, which I dislike because I feel the rushing through the events the show is doing makes it hard for certain things to be impactful and enjoyable as it could have been. Imagine if we had a bit more time with Harwin, before he got burned, it would have been a bit more impactful than it was, since he (I know he showed up a few times before) was really only in that one episode. I like slower pacing, it easier to get invested in the story. I am a little bummed we didn't get to see the battle of the burning mill, I'll admit. That's just my opinion though.

@@Sircoochie As sweet as that would have been, that would have defied Rhaenyra's specific orders, and she's not gonna do that.
@@decariusb71 he was indeed. A ruthless tyrant too. Honestly, kind of a good thing Aegon roasted him and his sons in their castle
Bruv said "every Lord that's been granted Harrenhal has died". Brother, were they supposed to live forever?
Lowkey this war could’ve been avoided if the Targaryans knew how to name their sons something other than Aegon.

Luckily they did it less and less towards the end of their history. Jon's name being Aegon was dumb tho, should have been Jaehaerys ,Daemon, or Aemon.
@@perrygilbert8276 pretty sure they did it to be petty
It’s doesn’t matter because Alicent “misinterpreting” Viserys words didn’t start the war. The council told her that they already was going to do it and had been planning so in episode 9 of season 1. Her saying he changed his mind justified it in their minds.

The difference was that they had the element of suprise. At this point, it's been weeks, and the war is imminent. It would be foolish to do it now, as 1. It would be unlikely to succeed, and 2.

Daemon Always defend his actions when he thinks it's right but here we see him crying meaning that he really didn't asked them to do that
Truth be told, Daemon loves his family. Visery was a fool in pushing him away. Daemon wouldn’t have allowed Otto to scheme this far
Daemon does want approval but his mind summoned the younger Rhaenyra because he wants the same easy approval that he didn't have to actually put in any effort into earning that she gave him when she was a child.

because nothing really happened. it just affirmed what everyone knew since the moment aegon was born. it makes rheanyra look dumb. i bet you could skip this episode entirly (minus the 1 minute of braken conflict) and you wouldnt even notice anything was off.
Alicent would have been cast aside make NO mistake - since Otto and the green council were all plotting to usurp anyway
This reveal didn’t change any externals but it did make things internally more clear for Rhaenyra that she HAS to go hard to war

Dragon seeds, bastard sons of Targaryen are a real thing, there's a bunch of them
Remember that last season we saw one of Aegons bastard childs on that fighting pit

The king really made his drinking buddies kings guard
That's like in Konosuba when Megumin's Rival thought Kazuma was supposed to give her a baby to kill the demon king, just for it to be their friend's fan fiction xD
25:39 Not exactly, Viserys wasn't just telling a bedtime story on his deathbed. What Alicent heard was Visery's reply to what Rhaenyra had asked him the night before. He thought he was talking to Rhaenyra. To jog your memory:
In the episode 8 of S1, when Luke's inheritance of Driftwood came under threat, Rhaenyra came to Viserys alone at night to beg for him to defend her and Luke's claim.

If the comet hadn't happened, it's possible that Dany burns up in the fire along with the witch and drogo.

its not necessarily alicent having too much pride, its that she knows she no longer possesses control over the course of events that are to come. her father, who was essentially the last string of reason on team green, was recently fired n the negligence she had w/ her kids has led them to have their own agenda.
even if she told the council that she was wrong n made a mistake, they would all most likely conclude the same thing; that no one has control over their drunkard king n blood has already been spilled. they dont even take aegon seriously.
she never really had control at all. the council didnt care if aegon was the rightful leader or not, they just wanted him on the throne because they believed a woman would have caused instability.
@@nullakjg767 Even that's just another layer of bullshit. From the beginning, it's been about getting Hightower blood on the throne.
@@nullakjg767 Houses Stark, Baratheon, Dustin, and Manderly all supported Rhaenys in the Great Council of 101 AC. That's two Great Houses. House Arryn supported Rhaenyra in the Dance of the Dragons, Lord Grover Tully supported Aegon but his bannermen and smallfolk supported Rhaenyra and eventually the Riverlands became a center of Black power during the war. The Greyjoys joined the Blacks. The Greens assumed the Reach would be their base of power, but Houses Costayne, Mullendore, Tarly, Rowan, Merryweather, Caswell, and Grimm supported Rhaenyra and the Tyrells declared themselves neutral. In the Crownlands, Stokeworth, Rosby, Darklyn, Staunton, Bar Emmon, Massey, Hayford, Harte, Crabb, Celtigar, and Velaryon supported Rhaenyra. The North supported Rhaenyra.
So, in all of Westeros, the North, Vale, and Crownlands supported a woman on the throne. The Baratheons supported a woman on the throne. The Reach, heart of chivalry, religion, and tradition was split and House Tyrell declared itself neutral. The Ironborn were fine with a woman on the throne.
Out of 7 great houses, 4 were in support, 1 was neutral, and 2 were against. Of the 2 against, 1 had bannermen and smallfolk enthusiastic for Rhaenyra.
That doesn't sound like an even split, that sounds like the Greens did a coup and were trying to justify it.
@@michaelhenry3234 where were these houses when rheanys got passed over?
As much as I love the live action stuff, this episode really made me really want an Aegon the Conqueror series in the form of an anime or the Castlevania animation style. I don’t think that live action could really do that story justice 🤷🏾♂️
I think they’ll still do it in live action. They definitely have the budget
@@ZachSweig yeah they do have the budget for live action, but I think the battles would look better and more well done in animation. That’s just my two cents though.
@@ZachSweigwon’t be as good
@@youngrootv I'd love to see that. Maybe then we could actually see the big battles, like the Last Storm or the Field of Fire, and see the soldiers of the houses actually look like they do in the books. Don't get me wrong, I like how HotD is doing that with its troops, but it still feels a bit underwhelming, especially with how much bling some of the lords and knights wear into battle.
@@sonofjack6286 yeah exactly. I like HotD a lot too, but that Bracken/Blackwood jump cut and offscreen battle is what made me realize that live action really may not be it if we want to actually be satisfied.
I need to see the failed Dorne conquest in all of its glory and animation is the only way I feel like it would show that. HBO would never allow it though more than likely unfortunately for us.
saw this comment and thought it was great " Daemon is straight up over leveled for this mission"
you all did a great job with your analysis
@hawks7111 It's not like they would've successfully at their attempt anyway
Yeah, people act like Alicent and her father weren't planning to do it even without Viserys gibberish. We are talking about the woman who told her son that the realm knows in their bone he will be their king waaaay back in ep 6 when Aegon was choking his little dragon at the window, and told her two boys that Helena will be Aegon's queen in ep 7
The Lamar edit is peak 🤣🤣
"dingus conalingus" 💀💀🤣🤣
The story of the song of ice and fire is about Jon snow. This story was told by rhaenyra’s dad when he showed her on the dagger that aegon was so casually playing with at the meeting.
I have so many belly laughs watching you guys react to this.
Bro the Lamar edit 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
3:57 bruh that clip was so fkn funny 😂😂😂
10:40 THAT'S WILLDDDDDDD LMAO
Crashing out over rocks is insane activity
Glad they revealed this on the third episode, now we got that out the way, anything moving forward is 100% Alicent fault lol
I respectfully disagree. I still think Rhaenyra will still make some mistakes in this war. I wasn’t a fan of her going to kings landing personally
It would, if Viserys' permission was ever a factor for the council's plan to put Aegon on the throne (it wasn't)
@@hectormiranda1088it’s like everyone forgets this big fkn detail
That's literally the opposite point that they were trying to convey
Absolutely wild takeaway
Daemon will die on that lake. But he will go out the way he always wanted to.
"Admit you was wrong or start a WAR.."
Alicent: 🤷♀️🔪
I clicked so fast for the reaction to that ONE part 😂😂
I love how so many people talk smack about team green, while Rhaneys literally tells Rhaynara your no better lol. You literally started a war by going years with out ever telling Alicent and Aemond sorry about the eye, shit got crazy lol. But get mad when the first chance Aemond can get his get back, he takes it. You took his eye for that dragon, so now you can die by that same dragon
10:00 now who put that GTA edit in??? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
