The fight between Erryk and Arryk was one of the hardest fights I’ve ever had to watch because of the fact that these brothers have been forced by circumstances to kill each other even though they still love each other.
And it’s really heartbreaking that Erryk apologized to Rheanyra before he fell on his sword because while he was always faithful he didn’t want to live in a world without his brother.

I guess you can't say the same for Daemon to Viserys, despite the fact Daemon did love Viserys, his rouge behavior always pushed his family away.
@thatoneblackdude3333 I'm sure he didn't give a damn about that. Kinslaying in the line of duty was out of his control and completely honorable. He loved his brother and couldn't live in a world without him, especially since he was the one who killed him. They only had each other, since, unlike Cole, they upheld their vows to serve until death without having families of their own.
@@Philliwolf5 he loved his bother but he definitely cares about being a kin slayer it's one of the worst things you can be in this world and as a supposed honorable knight and queens guard that's a massive stain on not just his reputation but rhenyreas as well, I feel there's multiple reasons erryk killed himself.
Making Cole hand of the king is literaly like adding fuel to the fire. If the guy was already unstable, with cole its just going to blow up with poor and impulsive decisions.
Cole will now enable aegons violent impulses it's going to be a mess .
could actually be good for the greens though, they have the size advantage with all their dragons and they have a bigger army for now, they should be more aggressive before Cregan Stark decides to show up with his entire army.

26:12 it was definitely Erryk who won the fight. He called Rhaenyra your grace before he fell on his sword (Arryk didn't view her as _his_ queen), and he asked for her forgiveness for kinslaying and because by ending his own life he'd be taking himself out of service as her sworn protector.
Team Black's twin was the one who got murdered. Team Green couldn't live with himself after and killed himself.
You know this because he is the one the got slashed on the leg with the sword at the start of the fight. Same slash his brother dug into to get him on the ground then kill him.
@@SamSamAnu they were both slashed on the leg. In the behind the scenes the show runners stated that they were deliberate about giving the twins matching injuries so that it would be difficult to visually distinguish the two.
The fact that this and the boys are out at the same time is going to responsible for millions going to therapy 😂😂😂

This just shows that neither one of Alicents sons are fit to be king. This is really viserys fault. The realm would have assumed loyalty or at least most of it had he named rhyneara heir earlier in her youth. He was more involved in her childhood. By the time he had these boys he was burned out and sick. With this he was not as attentive and so they are broken.
He did name her fairly early on AND had all the lords come swear to uphold her claim but there were always going to be a not-insignificant number of lords who just don't want a ruling queen. Even if Viserys never had sons with another woman, at least some amount of lords still would have ignored that he wanted Rhaenyra as his heir and would have supported Daemon just because he wasn't a woman.

I agree completely, but the Hightowers should take responsibility as well. Corlys told Viserys "A wise man must either sail through the storm or around it but must never await it's coming". He knew what Otto was doing with his daughter and the fight for power but he ignored it in hopes it would just go away. At first, Rhaenyra didnt want to be queen, she just wanted her father's love and approval. You can read it on her face during the ceremony on 1x1. The greens made sure to push their family insecurity onto their kids. Ensuring that they would never have a bond with their older sister. In fact, their father figure was Ser Cristian Cole. Which makes sense why Aegon just made him the hand. He probably trusts him more than anyone. What a mess lol. Even Otto regrets all of it now. I wouldnt be surprised if he switches sides.
@@Kidapollo92 It was as concrete as Viserys could make it- he named Rhaenyra as his heir, had lords swear to defend her claim to the throne, named her Princess of Dragonstone which was the traditional title held by the king's heir, etc. In the books, it's said he was overheard telling Jac that one day the throne would be his. In the show, even in open court the day before he died, Corlys' brother openly acknowledged that Rhaenyra was his heir. Wills didn't seem to be a thing in Westeros (at least not for the Iron Throne) at the time, but then again the will would probably have been in possession of the greens who could have just destroyed it so maybe he did have one (in the books they left Viserys' body rotting in his room for like 11 days so they could gather their forces and catch Rhaenyra off-guard)
You're letting Alicent off too lightly here. She should have spent more time with her kids. It's clear they haven't been loved much in their life. Rhaenyra's boys turned out just fine.

Murdered Jeoffery at a wedding and was promoted to Queen Alicent’s sworn protector… murdered a member of the small council at a small council meeting and drew his sword at Ser Westerling and was then promoted to lord commander…. allowed the heir to the throne to be murdered on his watch coz he was doinking the dowager queen and now he’s been promoted to Hand of the King…. It’s actually impressive
Also Kinslaying is one of the biggest Taboo's in Westeros, it's heavily looked down upon so Erryk not only killed himself over the pain of killing his own Brother but also over the fact that he dishonored his cloak and his Queen in doing so, that's why he apologized to her afterward.

He literally explained why. He doesn't care about the ratcatchers themselves, he cares about the fact that this made the crown look bad and it cost them popular support, which they worked so hard for, in a time period where popular support is vital. The city is starving. If the people don't love the crown, they may very well have a revolt in their hands.
Otto isn't angry due to mere morality, like you said, he is a cold motherfucker. He is angry because of the optics of this action, how it affects his faction and how much this cost them, for no benefit. Helaena or some of the servants could have easily identified the guilty ratcatcher. There was no reason kill them all.
Aegon was just being impulsive and reckless.

Otto hanged people who were declared treasonous against the crown, the crime from which is execution, and who belong to people who were not going to side with the Greens in the first place.
He did a power play at the beginning of their reign with the benefits of removing the rebelious elements from kings landing, unsettling his enemies and while covering himself behind the law.
MEanwhile, Aegon, hanged innocent men at the gates without a proper justification, turning the population against them in a time period where they are trapped with the population within Kings Landing due to the blockade, starvation is on the rise and a rebellion is now more likely. All of this for NO benefit whatsoever.
Is the difference between the two scenarios, their benefits and their context sufficiently clear to you or do you need crayon drawings to understand that 'when, where and why' matter a lot when doing these kinds of things?

This episode, 1 guy tries to sneak in....granted it was a plan that ALMOST WORKED...but because the commander guarfs were doing their job, only 1 person died...and it was a soldier

You guys are literally the only reactors I've seen who remember that Otto is the pos that kickstarted this mess and put Aegon where he is in the first place. So many are suddenly seeing him as a sympathetic straightman when this is the fruits of seeds he sowed himself. He thought he could control Aegon. He thought wrong.

No matter how much he sucks in the show, Cristin Cole is one of the most important people of the whole dance of the dragons. 10:54 While I think she doesn’t want to lose Jace, I don’t think she cares about them more than Baela or would ever sacrifice Baela and Rhaena. Remember that Baela and Rhaena are her daughters too. She’s raised them since they were 8(6 in the books) and she spent a lot of time around them before Laena’s death as well(in the books). And because of Valyrian customs, the Targaryen/Velaryon family trees are essentially a scribble; they’re very much blood related. They’re 1st cousins through Daemon and 2nd cousins through Laena. And god only knows what the actual gene resemblance is cuz of all the incest.
Furthermore, Jace has acted rashly before - to the point of stupidity. He might try and challenge Aemond to a duel or some stupid shit. Baela is very much Daemon’s daughter but she’s also Laena’s daughter and Rhaenys’ granddaughter. She knows how to control herself. Then Jace is Rhae’s heir so him being so close to KL is not a good idea. And with Aegon out for blood after Daemon’s fuck-up, having him go there isn’t a smart idea. If Baela is caught they’re not likely to kill her because she’s a noblewoman. And if she’s spotted she has a better chance of getting away. Moondancer is very fast. Vermax isn’t.
But also, she’s not a man. This episode was really showing how brain rotting misogyny and patriarchy is. How foolhardy and utterly delusional it makes you. Jace was the only “man”(he’s really a boy. He’s only 14 here. Possibly 16 in the show version) who showed good traits this episode. Him and the twins. Every other man was showing their ass. Christon perpetually got his pants around his ankles so him not being shit isn’t a surprise. Daemon was being a delusional, narcissistic, and abusive bitch. Aegon was just horrible to Helaena this episode. He ain’t even really fuck with Jaeherys fr - he don’t fuck with none of his kids tbh. Well no, I guess he kinda fuck with his illegitimate children. You know, the ones he like to watch fight in Thunderdome: Flea Bottom Edition. But the fact that he didn’t comfort Helaena at all; that no one did. Her toddlers are literally her only “friends”. That and her precognitive trauma. Her maids treat her like she crazy and so does her mom. I mean she got Dreamfyre, bur Dreamfyre a dragon. Rhaenyra expressed more concern for Helaena than any of the Greens did.
And Otto was hilarious but he looks dumb. Aegon is everything Otto claimed Rhaenyra would be. And Rhaenyra is everything Otto wants Aegon to be and more.
