You are not taking into consideration, they are in the Yukon and are not getting the French exposure. Albeit, the French are really well known to criticize anyone, that cannot get the pronunciation properly and have no patience for it. The other Europeans that have that attitude are Icelandic people, when one sound is off in Icelandic, then they castigate the person trying to learn it.
