SD42 French Immersion Program

The Maple Ridge - Pitt Meadows School District offers both early and late French immersion choices to all students across five elementary schools in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. Students in these programs move on to the secondary school French immersion program, offered at two of our high schools.
Research has shown that immersion is the most effective way for a child to become functionally bilingual. A second language will open more doors for your child, it will give them an increased appreciation of other languages and cultures, it will encourage your child to become an independent and self-disciplined learner, and it will ultimately lead to more opportunities for employment.
