We had absolutely no idea that McDonalds in Malaysia did Nasi Lemak and can we say we were surprised. The first time we got to try Nasi Lemak from McDonalds was at Penang Airport when we were on our way to Langkawi.
The day started off with an unexpected yet amazing Nasi Lemak and the flight to Langkawi, which was meant to be 45 minutes, turned into an unexpected delay due to the weather. To our surprise, the meal onboard the flight was yet another NASI LEMAK.

Finally you're in Langkawi..enjoy the island life and beautiful beaches. FYI its a tax free island so alcohol and chocolate, all imported goods are super cheap as they are tax free. Best to get around in a scooter. There's a good hidden jem of a bakery run by a French lady or something...near a beach..ask around.

If you fancy a genuine pizza joint run by an Italian residing in Langkawi , check out the restaurant located on the first floor of the go- kart centre near the airport.
If you fancy French food in Chenang area, i would recommend My French Factory, run by a Frenchman residing in Langkawi.
The best beaches are in Tanjung Rhu area.

Pantai cenang is more touristy. Take a bike to further a bit called tanjung rhu.
There are 2 famous waterfalls in langkawi. Nearer to the cable car is the 7 wells waterfall. Another good one is temurun waterfalls.
Other stuff to see, take a tour into the swamps, limestones or watch eagles catch fish.
Snorkelling of course.

@@sunkissedbucketlist fun facts : lang is short for helang, a malay word for eagle. I think kawi is the species there. Not too sure. It is smaller than the american bald eagle.

finally, seeing you starting to mix your nasi lemak before eating.......Generally, for many foods will need to mix up beofre eating to get full flavour. We call it Rojak which means mixing all different things togehter and Rojak is one favourite foods for Malaysians too.

Langkawi famous with it legend story, the Mahsuri princesses that been killed by royal that time due to false accusation on her adultery and she cursed langkawi for 7 generation to doom. During her bleed white blood cruel method of killing he swear her innocent and cursed. Her descendents flees to neighbouring countries which is thailand and still exist until now. That's real legendary story, after that Langkawi prosperous till now.

Have a chance to try Malaysia KFC, which is very different with other countries. Original or Hot & Spicy fried chicken both also very nice. Usually you see KFC Malaysia restaurant is crowded with peoples.
