    My heart almost sank when I thought for a moment you had lost your drone on the same mountain that you lost the camera and lens. Thank God the rescue mission was successful. 👍

    Hello Ian! I have a logistical question! Living in Japan, how do you find traveling by plane with 30L vs 25L? Does 30L go as a personal item or a carry-on? My brother is leaving for school in Japan in a month, and he is a beginner photographer, so I was wondering what volume he should be getting? Thank you!

    • @ShimodaDesigns
      @ShimodaDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lana, I never carry a camera bag as a personal item, only 'carry-on' (never had the need). I also never fly domestic (the country is too small plus we have good trains). When I go international it is usually a bigger X50 or X70. I personally do not fly with a fear of Carry-On regulations ) - he should be fine with either 25/30.

    Beautiful location! May I ask, what are salt pills for?

    • @ShimodaDesigns
      @ShimodaDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, excessive sweat over long distances tends to drain the body of salts and you need to replace it and help prevent dehydration. It's a simple treat that helps keep your body on track. The often sweet flavor is a nice way to injest it while your fatigued. Regards

      @@ShimodaDesigns The RF603c II are meant for Canon but you specifically said they work for Sony. Just clarifying it's not a mistake.
      I'm after something that doesn't use a usb cable to the camera but uses 2.4 ghz instead of BT or IR for wireless. Those seem to be just what I'm looking for if the C model works for Sony too.

    • @ShimodaDesigns
      @ShimodaDesigns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dyong888 I think it comes down to the cable that connects to the camera. If you check Amazon, there might be options for it to come with different cables. Previously used Pocket Wizards for max distance and reliability... I have box of broken or dead ones... when I discovered these I felts like a dummy for spending so much on PW. These have been much cheaper, reliable and are small and light. In the time I went through about 6 PW'S I've had 2 sets of these. These use a cable and hot shoe connection.
