I appreciate your style of videos and story telling. The field trips series combines my interests in hiking, photography, and getting a candid look in countryside Japan. I've been a recent discoverer of Shimoda bags last year and love my X50. Thanks for your efforts in making these videos.
Very enjoyable, as always. Great looking trek along the ridge and you got some good shots. Some of the route’s exposure looked a little much for me though. Also, I the look you get from your photo processing.
There must be some nice huts in America... but yes they are a bit different here. Actually really ideal for photographers as you don't need to pack a lot gear you might have to pack where you don't get the full service. Time to plan a trip :)
@@ShimodaDesigns I completely agree! The question then becomes which bag do I bring… the x50 or the explore 30? Maybe the carry-on roller (jk). Thanks for doing these videos! I always look forward to a new one coming out!
Really enjoyed the video Ian! You have a great way of storytelling and documenting your trips. I also enjoyed hearing the background about the second hut on your journey. I’ll have to try and find that film.
Now I feel silly, I looked up 'Gaku' but that is a movie filmed in my local mountains. 'Haru Wo Soette' is the one I was thinking of. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/5bXiqlOWQEk/w-d-xo.html But Gaku is also enjoyable, both are by no means mtn master pieces, more typical Japanese movies shot in the mountains. Enjoyable enough :)
Thank you very much for this video. I suppose that I was your inspiration for this trip as we chat on mail regarding sweat and clothes. :) I see that you had the same conditions as I had on my last trip - sunset was very very fogy, sunrise was ok, but not spectacular. PS. I am also watching TDF and as I never liked Pogacar, I feel a little sad that he probably not win. Anyway Vindego deserves the title this year without any doubt!
Hi... TDF has been amazing, I think I am fan of both, they and everyone else have been putting on a show. You and others have helped the layers scene :) I recommend base layers quite often.
I have been using the Action X50 for about 15 months now, the only thing I regret about it is that I did not purchase it earlier. I will probably upgrade to the X70, as my photography gear has grown, and the X50 is starting to become a bit small for a multiple day hike
A perfect mix of contemporary and traditional: digitally streaming the TdF while on a solitary alpine photo excursion! What a great channel!
Thanks, streaming sports has been a welcome addition to the modern world :)
Merci Yan
J’aime vos vidéos et votre style de vie.
J’ai plusieurs de vos sacs. Bravo pour la conception de vos sacs.
Thanks for the layering tips!
Great video Tom!
Really enjoyed that video, Ian. Fantastic story about that mountain hut.

Thanks for sharing another one of your amazing field trips!
Wonderful journey, looking forward to the next one! :)

Wonderful video and great shots, Ian! Still rocking my X50 and never looked back!
All of these alpine huts are amazing. I wish we had these in the states. That said, you probably would have to book them out a year in advance.
