    That was a great step by step on flushing the fluid. Honestly not something I have really given much thought to but now I am. Will for sure have to get that done this year. Will be very careful with the ABS. Thank you so much for the shout out. I appreciate your kind words. My wife and all of our stuff is here. Traveling back to Michigan next week for a graduation then our youngest will be joining us here in Texas. Be well!

    This is a great tutorial and educational video, Eric! Many of us have bled breaks lines, but never gave a second thought to the full "why" of it. Good "Pro Tip" on heating the end of the vinal line! I had not thought of this simple tip as I have had that line pop off the nipple. I also make sure i rotate the handlebars so the reservoir sits as level as possible so I can fill as much as I can. Thanks for sharing! - Wally

    Well done informative video. You touched on getting a service manual. It is really important to really look into the process of your bike has ABS or linked brakes, since most of them the proper way to bleed is to hook up a computer and put the brakes into service mode, that opens up all the ABS circuits and servos, so the system can actually be fully bled. My one addition top tip. On all my bikes I have replaced the banjo bolt at the master cyl, with a banjo bolt that has a zerk fitting for bleeding from the top. After doing the normal process, being able to open the system from the top makes it super easy to get any air out that you normally couldn't very easily. If you are into the system already, taking the time to add that new fitting is well worth it.

    • @KrakensGarageandAdventures
      @KrakensGarageandAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Outstanding points Dewey! I preach till I'm blue in the face for folks to purchase a proper service manual. That's a great idea on installing a zerk fitting. I'll have to read up on that. Thank you for the great comment. Eric

    Well I just finished a little research about a Spyder brake flush, and as you stated with most bikes, CanAm also states brakes should be flushed every 2 years. Several forum comments I read talk about needing to have B.U.D.S. to do a proper flush, (BRP Utility Diagnostic System). I'll have to do more research to find out if Spyder owners are flushing their own brakes, would certainly be nice to save a few bucks. Very nice details and info in this video Eric 😁👌👍

    My mechanic friend let me help him bleed my rear brake line a couple years ago. It was the first time the rear was bled EVER in my 2009 FXDL. What came out was a pond sample. I am almost certain I saw things with flagella swimming around in it. My buddy said it was the worst he had ever seen. Well, live and learn! I am happy to report the Bug Smasher passed inspection today, so I'm ripping legit for at least another 365! I always hold my breath while the guy gives it the once (and sometimes twice) over. Digging that Laidlaw's hat man! Who is taller, you or Matt Laidlaw? I like when he and his friend Nick test ride bikes together. I'm 5'08" like Nick, but I have many tall friends. It's nice to see how different people might fit on the same model bike.
