Yikes indeed. I'm a reasonable (in my opinion, some may disagree) germaphobe and this is great stuff to check I reckon. Very useful and exposing gadget, might have to get one someday. My hotel routine is to peel up all the covers on a corner of the bed and check the matress for signs of bedbugs. I never place luggage or clothes on the bed - most common way to have them catch a ride home to your house with your luggage. I also remove any hotel "display" pillows as they are never washed as far as I can tell - same with the "footer display blanket" at the base of the bed, rarely washed in my experience of knowing some cleaners. Last of all, I never drink out of cups in a hotel without washing them thoroughly - they are often cleaned with the same cloth at other things (though this isn't such a problem in the USA as hotels seem to have plastic covering over all cups, but Australia doesn't). I was in a hotel room and found peanuts in the bed. I also found a dead mouse under the bed. I have never gone back there again 😲. Great topic Mate.

Wow... i guess it's one of those that if you don't think about how dirty something is you can deal with it easier. Remember back in the day watching dirty jobs where mike rowe talk about hotels and was smashing things and weeks later got a bill for all of the damages. 😂😂

As a retired microbiologist, when I was in school I was quickly becoming "Monk." Then I had to take a year of Immunology and I was able to breathe again. My graduate research was in airborne pathogens and I still hate passing blowing vents, blowing out, or return vents. I also have to fight the urge to not run out of crowded buildings, etc. We generally take our own sheets and pillows, at least pillow cases on bike trips, for the reasons you mentioned. Lordy ...😮😮 For many years my wife ran the laundry room at a hotel here in town. And I would work there on the weekend just doing maintenance. It was a pretty good hotel until it was bought out. By the folks that brought out the gas station here in town. It went downhill pretty fast. And the major chain pulled their name. It's now under some non-descript name. I understand where you're coming from and I had no black light..😱

When I stayed in Vegas, we stayed in a dodgy little place. There was a pubic hair on the sheet and cigarette burn holes in the bedspread.

Wew! Nasty stuff. I never thought of carrying a black light when I was travelling. I did, however, ( and I still do if I need to use a public toilet) carry a can of disinfectant, 70% alcohol, spray. Everything gets a good coating before any of my body parts touch anything. I should get a black light to help me target the problems areas. Great tips, thanks, Eric. Cheers

What I see from most of the comments on motorcycle content pretty well screams that unless something major changes. Harley, MC’s and the like are falling by the wayside and probably in their final era… with public sentiment towards them having changed substantially over the last 10-15 years

I bring a sleeping bag with me when travelling. I never sleep directly on someone else's stuff. lol. Sounds like you should start bringing a motorhome and bike trailer with you. 🤣

The undersink is probably left over construction glue that was wiped off without being cleaned properly. I’ve seen it on my relatively new properties. Either that or very gymnastics team.

Nope!!! If I have to stay in one, well I have a few things I look for when I enter the room! Some housekeepers do spray toilet and bathroom fixtures and do not wipe clean. So isn’t always body fluids! Do you check the tv remote? It’s always disgusting and never cleaned. Pack your sleeping bag and sleep in your own gear!! They are small and portable now for motorcyclist. Great video!!! Sadly the black light won’t work here for our Canadian bills due to our money being plastic!

Don't even get me started on the medicial/insurance here in the states. Bad thing is half the time the astronomical cost the insurance is charged vs the actual care you get is also unblieveable. Spending 10 hours in the ER and not once seeing a Dr. Or Nurse Practitioner yet still they are charging them insurance for it...... /Rant over That isn't a bad cost when you would probably had to pay out of pocket close to that. Good on them for working with you.
