I rarely comment on DIY videos, but I must give you a HUGE thank you for doing this. I bought a used vinyl pool this season and of course it has leaking issues. PVC to PUMP was the ideal fix. I didnt know where to begin until I saw this video. A million thanks to you!
My wife and I have been searching for a video just like yours. We want to add PVC to our pool. We have the same pool and everything and I just wanted to say thank you so much for your awesome video. I mean it is in exact detail and I love it. We will be doing this tomorrow. Again great video good job 👍
You are the BEST!!!! I've watched so many videos that freaked me out and ended up buying a zillion pieces and parts and was still confused and then bought the intex hoses. Doubling my expenses. OMG. I wish I had found your instructions sooner.
Oh man, that stinks that you went through that. I am happy to hear that my videos are helpful and add value. Thanks for taking the time to write a comment.
Girl, you are good!!!! I'm a 70 yr old DIY'er and I greatly appreciate your video as I share the same issues with my pool (mostly for the grands!) Excellently made video. I am now a subscriber. God bless. Chris, New Iberia, LA
Nice video. I plan to do this this year. Appreciate the close ups on the pipe clamps, wasnt sure from your descriptions alone how the pvc would seal to the outlets. I'd like to pvc the outlet and inlet sides.
FINALLY!!!!! I found my new favorite TV show to watch. Your so informative, and I just love your brain! I'll share your videos on FB to help grow your channel. Keep going girl, your amazing!!!
great video!! i used your parts list and got all my supplies last weekend. one thing i noticed, the 3/4 inch schedule 40 pvc dose not fit the pool intakes!! i think im just going to leave them off the inside of the pool. Thanks for you creativity and easy to follow steps.
I know you made this video 3 years ago....... I just found it after replacing my hoses 2 years in a row. LOVE your video!! I can find all parts except the 2 flush bushings????? Do you have pictures or links for those parts? thank you so much
An alternate way to get rid of the rope would be to add a T to the bottom where the hose is connected with an open end coming out toward you and one toward the ground. Instead of adding the hose connection at bottom connect to the side. Add another piece of 1 1/2inch pipe all the way to the ground to prop it up. Place a cap/plug on the bottom.
Nice. Eventually you could make the downward pipe longer up to the ground and mage there 90 degree angle to the hose. Then it would be self-supporting.
Thanks so much for this video! Super helpful. Question I haven’t been able to find elsewhere, so I thought I’d try here: those Intex plunger valves - do those actually have an up and down plunger that can manually pump water through the hose when needed, such as for repriming the hoses? Or does the top handle just turn left and right to twist on and off? I have a much much smaller pool and made my own filter and small pump because the Intex and other pool pumps are overkill for my small pool and would have cost way more in electricity than needed. Having the actual pumping handles would be super handy, but cannot tell if those plunger valves actually do that or are just on/off. I saw Intex also updated those in recent years and changed how they work to help prevent them from breaking as much. Thank you for any help you can provide!
Correct. You will need adapters and smaller tubing that fits through the holes. 3/4” Here are the materials i used, you can also find this in the video description :) Material. QTY 1-1/2" x 10' PVC. 1 2 x 1-1/2" male adapter. 1 1-1/2" 90 degree elbow. 2 1-1/2" x 3/4" flush Bushing. 2 1-1/2" PVC Tee. 1 1-1/2" Ball Valve PVC. 1 4 oz PVC Handy Pack. 1 3/4" PVC (only need a few inches)
Great video! Does the 1 1/2 inch male adapter threads fit the intex hose? Another video says I need a 1 1/2 to 40mm adapter. Just want to be prepared before building with the kiddos.
@RRack the male adapter i used fits well. I use one of the black rubber rings to prevent leaking. You can always take that hose with you to the store when you pick up threaded adapter and try it out just to be sure. This is my second year putting the pvc back on the pool. No issues…yet :)
All your glue joints appear to be incorrect. You applied primer & glue to a pipe and inserted that into a dry fitting. Both sides of any joint must have primer and glue applied. It doesn't look like you did that.

Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts. I’m glad it helped you out. Thanks for watching.
Todo el mundo sube videos de las mejores a las piscinas, mira que he buscado y buscado, gracias, el tuyo es simplemente el mejor

I gave you a thumbs up because you asked for it at the end of the video rather than the beginning like most.
Good job.
The best DIY about hard plumbing the intex pool!!!!🎉🎉🎉

Thanks Chris for the nice comment! Hope you enjoy the channel.
Good job, I will point out that you are supposed to put purple primer on both peices being glued
Very clear details about plumbing installation very impressive!
I have to say this is the best and most thorough video for pvc conversion. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the materials list. Very pro.
Nice video. I plan to do this this year. Appreciate the close ups on the pipe clamps, wasnt sure from your descriptions alone how the pvc would seal to the outlets.

Hi, Sweetie good job, about not getting your peices right just mark both pieces when you dry fit it. Great job well explained.
FINALLY!!!!!
I found my new favorite TV show to watch.

Thank you so much, i really appreciate the support.

I had this same problem. They were too loose. Weird.
You ROCK! Very cool video, and LOVE the background music!
Thanks for your help. Loved your video. Helped me out a lot. 👍🏽
That is great to hear, thanks for leaving a comment
Great video and explanation
I know you made this video 3 years ago....... I just found it after replacing my hoses 2 years in a row. LOVE your video!!

I picked them up at a Menards. Their website is not the best, I tried getting the exact flush bushing to come up but it did not work.
I admire your editing, voice over, and most of all your oratory skills. Great job. Your dad should be proud of you.
This helps a lot! Can you give us more tips on the pool?
Thanks for the explainer!
Fabulous, thank you!
My suction filter does not fit over pvc. Is the 3/4 a different grade?
Try sanding the outside of the pvc a bit to get it to fit in the filter fitting.
Did you figure out a good solution for the hook and twine?
Not yet. I might re-evaluate when i put the pool up this year. A few bad storms have delayed the pool setup this year
An alternate way to get rid of the rope would be to add a T to the bottom where the hose is connected with an open end coming out toward you and one toward the ground. Instead of adding the hose connection at bottom connect to the side. Add another piece of 1 1/2inch pipe all the way to the ground to prop it up. Place a cap/plug on the bottom.
That's what I figured would hold it up and keep it sturdy.. but I chose to use a 90 angle elbow instead of the t with cap on one end.
Just so you know that you are supposed to put the purple liquid and glue on both pieces of the pipe that you are fitting together.
Thanks for the comment, I should have done it that way. You are right. :)
Nice. Eventually you could make the downward pipe longer up to the ground and mage there 90 degree angle to the hose. Then it would be self-supporting.
Great idea

The valves that come with it are just open/close. As water fills above then, the lines fill with water.
Glad you enjoyed the video
Is it better to use 2 times a 45 in stead of a 90 degree? Like a centralvac system they only use 45's what do you think?
And the same for the T adapter is it better to use two 45's and an Y adaptor?
You bring up a really good point. I bet 2 of the 45 degree angles would be better than 1- 90 degree elbow
@@carlytackles thanks!!! Hey and the video is really really good thanks for that as well!!
Greetings from the Netherlands
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you. Wow-the Netherlands. :) Greetings to you as well.
The 2" lowes pvc threads don't fit the pool threads
Correct. You will need adapters and smaller tubing that fits through the holes. 3/4”

Perfect thks men im going to do one just like yours and add LED lights
Love LED lights! Great idea

I doubt it will matter for this purpose. It's not under that much pressure. Nothing's going to burst.
You're absolutely right, I didn't realize she did that, I'm a woman I've done plumbing and I know your have to do both pipes that you are connecting
