The rubber ball in the skimmer trick was such a face palm moment for me. Like, why didn't I think of that? I'm interested in upgrading my pool hoses and adding the valves like you did. Thanks for a great video! Subbed and 👍
This video inspired me to try this. My 25' of flex pvc finally arrived today and I'll be installing it tomorrow. Like your setup, i also have a salt chlorinator. I look forward to more tutorial videos from your channel.
Your video is so helpful. We are struggling with a new pump (delivered today. . .100 degrees!) that has a coarse fitting into existing fine thread fittings. Can you come and fix it ?! Not sure we have service to go along with the sale! So hard to find help with ATG pool around here. Thank you!
would a 6 inch flex hose be long enough to heat up get a coupler in between 2 hard pipes that have no flex?? I currently have a rubber boot like your showing with clamps in between two hard pipes. Not sure if it will hold it's on a hot tub plumbing under high pressure
Thanks, I will next time although each system will be slightly different. Listen to the video again as I’m pretty sure I describe the fittings I used for this application. Thanks again for your suggestion!
Life saver. I have the same filter and salinator set up and getting the right fittings to work with flexihose has been tough. Question though, for the reducer coupling on the salinator, do you glue those pieces together?
I noticed your aquapro filter. I have the same. What cartridge filter do you use? Do you use the filter sold only by the pool factory or do you use an alternative filter? Thanks
Hi Danny, thanks for watching. I’m having difficulty cross referencing this filter. If I go through The Pool Factory, it will cost the most. If I cross reference and go with another type, it may not be as good. I actually plan to get a backup in the off season and may go with the direct replacement from The Pool Factory.
@@bigalsabovegroundpooltips6887 Thanks for the response. Yes it is the most expensive. Which is why I have searched around. I also wanted to explore options and judge the quality. No luck yet though. Please keep me posted if you have any luck with an alternative. Stay safe
@@MrDannyc724 I have a Pentair PLM150 cartridge and those are $250 and up, so I just went a bought a used Hayward Perflex DE filter for $150 now I'll really have polished clear water.

For real. A couple weeks ago I bought an inflatable plug and an air hose for about $40 😂

Thanks for that!
Hopefully you guys can give me some ideas on what you would like to see next.
you made sure to say clockwise taping then you taped it counter clock wise?????
Thanks Al, just installed a pool recently and I want to do like you and replace the corrugated hose. Thanks for the info, new sub.
you wrapped the tape counter clockwise after you said clockwise? yes?
This is what has me confused 🫤
Regardless wrap it clockwise. Do as he says not what he does.
Totally wrapped that wrong, also if you flip the roll you can keep tension on the tape as you apply and the roll will not fight you.
I sure hope he had the front camera view on. 🤣🤦♂️
I lost all interest in this video after this. And he got a 👎

I think I’m going to give this a shot next year. Thanks for the tips

That looks very doable. And I don't have a truck so that flexible tubing means I don't have to pay to have it delivered. That's nice....
Love that dog, is she a mix? Lab/Boxer? She looks like a fun doggy.
I wish you included a list of parts in the description. 😢

This is EXACTLY what I needed. Thanks
What size duct valve did you use for drain filter opening?
Should I use regular glue for white flexible PVC piping?
Yes same glue and primer as recommended for schedule 40 pvc
@@SafeTravelRV I am also connecting white flexible PVC to regular PVC is there anything i should know?
@@myviews469 treat same as regular schedule 40. I might do a union there just in case I want to make changes later.
@@SafeTravelRV I do have a union valve but i need the flexible pvc to better match but concern with PVC Glue it should work with flex pipe too ?
Make sure what you have is schedule 40 flex pvc.
Hi Big Al! What filter system is that? Thank you.
Aqua Pro 120 from Pool Factory
I notice that the deck is built over the top rail. What id=s the plan for replacing the liner? Ripping the deck up?
It’s a beaded liner so it’s replaced from the inside.
I was wondering same thing..so do us regular liner people have no deck options??
Hey big al do i use that fitting for the bottom of the skimmer as well thank you im advanced
yes if you want to completely remove hose for storage
Could you add a part list?
I think I showed everything in the video. To address your situation, bring your fittings to your local plumbing house for the right parts.
what pvc brand is that?
Tektube schedule 40 ultra flexible
Hi Big Al :) What is the hose spout near the edge of your skimmer for?
It’s an overflow drain for when it rains. See video!

Are they temp sensors on the inlet and outlet
Are you talking about the red handles or part going into pool? Red are gate valves and other is chlorine generator.
Hope that helps!

where did you buy the flex pvc pipe
Amazon. Supply may be very low.

I wish I knew this flex piping product earlier.
