Just try swap the muffler u hear the truth..
The ducati sound bad in neutral because of rear bank deactivation, so your hearing 2 cylinders and not the full 4 in neutral.
This rear bank deactivation is used so when your at a traffic light or stop sign your seat doesn't become a grill.

I’m not a fan of the Duc at idle but it sounds good with more RPMs. I still prefer the R1 sound.

For a start, the BM has an aftermarket can and the Ducati looks like a standard Ducati Akra can so the comparison is void. All that aside, the Aprilia V4 is far and away the best sounding 4 cylinder engine !
