Thank you for sharing. I have a diagnosis of Bipolar 1, severe GAD, mild learning difficulties following stroke, and some other medical issues. Antidepressants did not work at all and some made me feel worse. Pregabalin did improve my anxiety symptoms for quite a few years, as did Diazepam. However i heard that they were addictive, so asked my psychiatrist to reduce and discontinue these. The Doctors did this, however i felt too quickly. I was left suffering severe itching causing insomnia, bad nausea leading to weight loss, almost fainting due to pulse of 130, restlessness but also fatigue. It has been quite annoying that even months after the last dose my symptoms have not really gone away. I am actually taking three extra antihistamines and an extra antipsychotic! This medication has the worst protracted withdrawals of all the medications ive been on - and i have been prescribed a lot! I am not taking medication for anxiety now, nor do i wish to. I am happy to take my Bipolar meds and my physical health meds to prevent another stroke. Thats all. Physical withdrawals from Pregabalin have been shocking and four months after my last dose are still there! Im glad you are doing this very slowly. If you did it as quick as me youd be suffering a lot more. Doctors should be aware of this and plan a taper to minimize suffering. Good health to you! God Bless.
Started on Gabapentin- horrible side effects, could barely function. Then put on Pregabelin at 150mg per day, rising over three years to 300mg per day. Felt almost as bad as the Gab so I told my GP and stopped cold. It did not take me too long to feel more alert, but I now use codeine type pain relief. I've had FND since 2000, and treated pain since 2014 so I just consider them parts of my life now and try to work around the drop attacks and the pain. I hope that recent onset patients can learn to live with the issues without insisting on heavy duty medication which have more side effects than primary. My own personal favourite medication in the event of a drop attact is to make my brain giggle whilst other folk who don't listen to my advisory comments beforehand go into panic mode. Best wishes to you and all sufferers, hope you all learn some good coping methods.
It helped me, thank you! ❤ I was put on Gabapentin then moved to Pregabalin several months ago for nerve pain due to FND. You saying to be kind to yourself, allow yourself to have the symptoms and that we're doing well was genuinely nice to hear and much needed today. I've upped my Pregaba to 600mg and the past month I've been soooo forgetful. Hearing you say you've basically lost a year of your life due to the forgetfulness really struck a chord with me. I can't continue being this forgetful/tired and I think I'd rather have some pain back and actually remember what I've said 2 minutes ago...
Back again, down to 250mg, didn't enjoy my brain function reduction. A bit of a rough withdrawal time, I must admit. Now I just want to be medication free...
I've had 2 failed back surgeries (laminectomy) in 2021 and 2023 and have had weakness and pain 24/7 on both legs. Was taking Gabapentin 100 mg since 2020 but doesn't help. My PCP prescribed Pregabalin 150 mg 2 x day but because of reading and watching side effects, I opted not to take them and just keep bearing with the pain. Afraid to take the risk since I had a heart attack/ triple bypas/stroke in 2020!
Thanks Cassey, appreciate your candidness. I am 66 and Pregabalin is really hard to live with and worse to come off. Nice to hear your views. Best of luck in your targets
I have been taking pregabalin for the past decade as an anti convulsant and to help with ptsd from service in the British army. I take 300 milligrams twice daily and am wanting to come off this and will be seeing my doctor next week to discuss how he intends to help me with reducing the dose to the point where I no longer need to take it any more.
I take it for generalized anxiety disorder and it does work like a charm for me, ruminating thoughts vanish, but I also get this very strange headaches too specifically located on the frontal lobe, is a very distinctive type of headache like a chemical headache if you might. I also feel slower, short term working memory also goes out the window. Pregabalin does keep me calm, but at what cost, I feel like it removes my spark, I'm less creative and less funny in general but I also don't have self-harming thoughts. It is quite a tricky situation. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Yes I also experience those headaches! You explained that so well. And I relate to the fact that it removes your spark. It is so challenging to decide whether or not its worth staying on. I am currently struggling. I have stopped coming down as I am experiencing more nerve pain. Im hoping I will adapt but if not I will stay at 500mg. Im glad to hear it helps you. Self harming thoughts are scary. Sometimes I lookat medication as giving us a break from dealing with these hard things, bringing us some ease and then we can take the steps to learn healthy coping tools so that if and when we are ready to decrease our meds we have theae helpful tools to teach us some new ways to deal with hard things! Thank you for sharing. Sending love!
I tried coming off pregablin for generalized anxiety and depression I take 450mg three times a day, with theses symptoms I get very bad diarrhea, shaking hot and cold, can't balance properly and slurred speech headache and hallucinations paranoia these symptoms, soon stops when I start taking pregablin again
I do a couple every week just for buzz and really good sleep, do drink with them. Just doing one day I get 2 days of withdrawal. Itching, moody, fog. Could not imagine someone doing this shit all the time
I was taking 600mg pregabalin for severe GAD for years. I reduced and discontinued. I had my last tiny dose four months back, and none since. I am still having hellish physical withdrawals and for this I am taking three extra antihistamines and an extra antipsychotic! Pregabalin is really not to be messed with babe. To be honest I never had problems like these when I quit smoking weed back in 2016. Pregabalin has to be the worst!
@JasonBrown-dd7dj pregabalin also has a sedative effect that you don't get with gabapenin. A little bit like an extra benzo feeling that gabapentin doesn't have

You should really ask yourself why so many muslims are turning to Christ Yahushua (Jesus)? Because He is the way, the truth and the life and no one can get to our heavenely Father unless through Him and His sacrifice He made for all people.
In Europe, Christians are becoming extinct due to atheism and secularism. Churches are being sold and turned into mosques. The truth about Christ is mentioned in the Holy Quran.

Its a tough one trying to decide which one is better. Make the best decision for you and if you do go down take it slow ❤️

I understand english a little bit but I'm waiting for the french subtitles, it's more confortable. Usualy TH-cam make it available in few hours. Kiss.
Hope you can enjoy it with French subtitles ❤️
@@casseyklieThanks for the rehab advice❤
It will balance out as your PAWS from meds go away. Also, careful taking magnesium with gaba drugs try NAC
Also dependence is not addicted
Magnesium is not a problem with Pregabalin, only with Gabapentin

@@casseyklie Thankyou very much. ✌️❤️🤗
What is the diffrence between Gabapentin and Pregabalin?
I think that they are very similar - both used for neurological pain. Apparently it’s how the medications are absorbed are a bit different
@@casseyklieDiff meds but similar if that makes sense pregabs 6x strength through absorption
