Glad to see they take care of us vets down in the Villages. Makes me want to move there even more!

Yeah, I am glad to know you have had a good experience with the VA. The VA gets a bad rap sometimes. I work for the Orlando VA and it is a true honor to be able to assist those who have served our country.
Thank you for the video and your kind words. 😊

Thanks for the VA clinic information. I wondered how many services were available at the local VA clinic.

Thanks Chief! I never got in the door with the VA. My claims were denied when I retired in 1998 with 21.5 years of service. I never went back. Good to hear that you pushed through the system.

@@TheVillagesChief Thanks Chief, I have been told that by many friends. FYI, I went on to do another 22.5 years as a DoD contractor, last stops were Souda Bay and Djibouti. Deployment at over age 55 became such a hassle when COVID hit. I hung it up in 2021, retired near Daytona.

Thanks for the video! I am retired Army and will be moving to the Villages in about a year, so I was curious about the VA experience and your video and the comments are very helpful. Also loved the top down ride with the Jeep! Cannot wait to do the same with my Bronco. Thanks again.

I use the VA clinic regularly its the only medical facility I use. It’s a 25 minute golf cart ride from home. I first used my car a couple times and I only go by golf cart. I’m am so glad they lifted the mask mandate

Chief, have you had any experience using the VA hospitals either in Gainesville or Tampa. We are thinking of moving down but have some concerns with the health care options. 100% disability with Lymphoma but have it under control for now.

Hi Rich, sorry but no I havent dealt with any hospitals here in Florida yet, just the VA outpatient clinic. Glad to hear it's under control brother.

Speed varies on day of the week and time of day. Major / specialty needs are handled at Gainsville VA (NoFL/SoGA) across the street from UF Shands. Below 466A the closest CBOC maybe on Rt 441 in Tavares which is connected to the Orlando VA Hospital . 6 years ago there was a 700 vet waiting list. They hired a number of new Drs. in 2017. Unfortunately in 2021/2 a few transferred to the expanded Ocala CBOC and retired and they hired some new PCPs in 2022/3, so things are now staffed equally again. VA in VISIN 8 has no room for spouses. But for the most part it is not important if you are over 65, spouse coverage falls to medicare outside the system. Welcome to the neighborhood Chief.
