This is great, it's amazing with a bit of know how and the right selection of parts that these 30 year old engines are so versatile and able to make some serious power even by today's standards. Goes to prove that a well looked after stock engine should pretty much last forever!

Love this series man. It saved me so much money. I remember reading all the forums back in 2014 when specing out my simple forged rb26 rebuild and everyone says you need this and the other. I remember thinking it cant be this complicated and expensive and came across some of your early videos to support my thoughts. Just kept it to pistons, rods, head, main rod bolts, metal gaskets and a thorough clean and have been enjoying my power and reliability ever since. :)

When I built my forged turbo Honda engine, I went with Eagle H-beam rods, CP pistons, ARP 2000 rod bolts, ARP main studs, ARP head studs, and ALOT more ARP bolts throughout the engine. It already made 508 whp to the front wheels and isn't even fully tuned.

The engine builder & tuner is probably the most important thing when building an RB. A mate of mine had pretty much the entire nitto catalogue in his rb25 drift car. Nitto rods, pistons, oil pump. I think he spent about 30k on the engine. He had a lot of oil starvation issues, engine builder couldn't fix it. It had custom sump and head drain etc. Ended up killing the engine after 1 season at only 310rwkw.

It drove 40m from the top level to the bottom level of the building. Thats plenty! Bedding new rings in is the most important thing and we didnt change pistons and rings, so its bed in already. Bearings are good to go instantly and cams already bed in. Moral of story is, no break in period required. Good engine builders and tuners only bed rings in on dyno then good to go. Break in is old wives tales stuff.

R M if you have to ask you can't afford it. I'm not sure on exact parts used but this would be close
Get a stock 32 GTR for mid 30's to 40ish. Just parts alone:
      Lets see fuel system: 4K
Haltech Elite or similar spec ECU R32 GTR PNP 3K + tuning
      Quaife front LSD 2K
PPG or OS Giken sequential dog box 16-20k
      Twin plate clutch 2.5
      Billet steel flywheel 0.5K
      Intercooler & Piping 1.5K
Engine upgrades using stock bottom end : 4-5k
      Garrett GTW3884 + 6Boost+wastegate+oil&water lines and fittings 5K
      Exhaust & dump 2.5K
Kaaz 2 way rear diff 1.2k
Coilovers, upgraded brakes, wheels, tyres at least 15K. Add at least another 15K for labour, plus more for a cage and chute or anything else that I forgot or if anything breaks. This is not a cheap car by most standards. You could easily spend 100K on top of the asking price for a setup like this.
It's cheap compared to a Porsche or Ferrari and would eat them in standard form on the straights anyway, probably not around corners. Though just imagine how mad you'd look bagging up all 4's through 2nd leaving Harry's, fuck the house just live in a GTR.

dikfro 5000 rather spend my money on a Supra, was only asking as he mentioned it was going to be a budget build. Regardless of car make I can appreciate the build.

This engine ended up failing due to the ‘forged’ pistons having a weaker rating than stock, didn’t it? I know you’re unwilling to say who made the pistons but that just reeks of a HKS step 0, 1 or 2 kit lol.

Any issues with the block cracking was a brace installed or any grout used

    • @MotiveVideo
      @MotiveVideo  6 ปีที่แล้ว

its stock. Lucky dip really. The time and money spent to grout fill or make a brace fit isnt really budget as there is more machine work etc involved. We will do that when we make a "has everything" block

We have four or five 1000hp s-chassis cars here in South Florida and they all run n1 blocks.
