7:27...OMG this is the Exvitermini R33. That was one of the first Videos i see from a R33 GTR. I was like 19 or 20 and i have dreamed from this Car. Im so in love from these days... Now i am 34 and i bought one...best buy ever in my life. So much fun with this Car.
I'm in the process of purchasing a R32GTR currently (hopefully itll be home this weekend) and Ive been following this channel for quite some time. The information on here is by far the most informative one around. Thanks for sharing the info and research you guys have done. I cant wait!
These are the most comprehensive and technical RB videos around. Awesome work hawkins - keen on learning more. Can you confirm though, did you end up keeping the forged pistons and add stock rods or?
I love this channel when you guys have Parts to a big series. This is like a big movie series and i love learning. Thank you MotiveDVD. Please for the love of god xD, please do everything don't leave steps out. I want to learn how to rebuild a motor someday and i want to learn stuff about other imports. Its a weird coincidence that you guys uploaded a video when AdamLZ has a problem with RB25 lol. Hope you guys vapor blast the block and the cylinder head + valve covers and timing cover. I want to see that squeaky clean look like it was just polished or machined billet :)
really interesting to note the differences; 2jz factory fully counterweighted crank, no oil pump issues, can seal 1200rwhp+ with stock head gasket and L19 studs
Hey please can’t we just enjoy a nice informative learning experience without that Toyota Nissan who’s better mentality, let’s enjoy the engineering for what it is. I’ve not seen as good Australian engineering as these people for along time. So bugger off the comparisons.
John P 2JZ on in RHD puts the turbo and manifolds next to the clutch and brake fluid master res causing all kinds of heat issues on track days, both the RB and 2JZ are amazing platforms with their own strengths and weaknesses this is not really the place for comparison.
I've watched almost all of motive dvds clips on TH-cam and I have to say you guys are on point , bringing the information any car guy or builder will want to know , instead of slapping us with mystery and a finish product like the US guys do , So much love and respect for you guys doing it right. I have one question though , do you guys only focus on mostly Nissan builds because I would love to see a 4AGE 20v build with the same detail you guys always have
Over powered the block is an understatement, all that fuel washing increased wear and you wore the fuck out of that block, you could never expect that to last those iron bores are 30-40k psi in strength and with excess heat hello deformation! IT's knocking at your door.
I have 4 rb26 and 6 yes 6 supras 2jz my dad had a toyota and nissan dealer when i was younger i kept the cars all are under 20k miles some have 1600 true miles. I made a great decision. I guess i will do a video on these soon there all still at the dealer. We closed it kept the building and cars. They look brand new. I might let one go but i won't do it for some half ass under bid price.
how much power did they make on the old motor before it let go? im looking at buying an R33 but i see lots of people bitching about passing 500whp on a stock block saying its impossible and it will just break...
Actually, 2.8 is probably cheaper and can go bigger cams without Vcam. Its also super expensive to get a Vcam and not budget friendly. We'd love to test one but big bucks.
MotiveDVD they’re pretty cheap now! I bought mine for 3900 aud from nengun and did a rb28 build. Made 100awkw throughout the low and mid rev range with the same boost level on 2859-9 turbos. Lots of potential :) after watching your single vs twin turbo build I’m planning to get a single turbo gtx 35r.
Is replacing the oil pump with an aftermarket like Nitto a must? or may I keep the stock housing and replace the gears with Billet ones? Which option do you recommend for about 450 KW or 600 HP. Thank you.
zaggy777 Andrew can not afford so many cars as it all comes out his pocket. Once our channel is big enough to help fund the cars we’ll look at some more brands and engines
I been planning to buy gtt r34 and convert it into r34 gtr with rb26 engine and they said i need to find gtr floor plan and a oil sump because right hand drive is not allowed here.
Your car is sick i like it man id die to have car like that i have a audi s6 with the v10 i wish i could do work to it not many know how . In germany they do but not in the usa so much.
Please please would you check the ring end gaps? I have a factory stock rb25 series 1 and all ring gaps were between .015 and .018 thou. I'm very curios as to what the 26 factory ring gap is. The 26 pistons do not look much better than the 25 and I wonder if it is just the ring gap that is causing the 25 ring land issue at higher power.
Long nose or short, flat drive doesn't solve the problem. It is a band-aid. This Nitto oil pump is just a copy of JUN which is not producing any more. Only spline drive solves the problem with pump completely.
jasaircraft factory are junk but our last combo, hard to say, as head wasn’t machined so didn’t seal properly over 30psi Got given some Tomei ones by JMA to try out so we tried them out
Need to hone the block and fresh piston rings etc and most likely need oversize pistons. Simply not worth it to go all stock again. Rather buy a stock running engine.
Can someone Please tell me, I’ve been lookin everywhere to find like a list on just what I need to get the rb26(in a r34) to 1000 horsepower. It would mean the world to me if someone could answer to this🙏🙏
The block is toast ?! I’m sure it is , I’ve got blocks bored out and re sleeved why bother with buying another block . But I guess 50 thousands of is a lot in wear on a cylinder walls
So I don't have a nitto oil pump but I do have the n1 pump. I know it's better than factory but does anyone know what the failing point of these pumps or any issues?
MotiveDVD well I'll be drifting the car so it'll be seeing a lot of clutch kicks and rev limiter. I know the stock ones are more prone to have issues but wasn't sure if n1 pumps did aswell. I'd like to go to spline drive gears but I don't want to rip the crank out because here in the states are complete idiots when it comes to rbs and the small minority that do know charge a ton to tear them down. I'm just trying to see if the n1 pump will be up for the task.
ClutchkickPJ make sure it i has a good sump on it, a rear head drain and oil feed restrictiors these are easy cheap mods and rocker cover baffles and an accusump if you wanna throw the works at it, this is the best you can do until you put a real pump in it but dont do the pump without the rest as Jim says.
When Jim speaks you listen. Those oil pumps are impeccable
Ruth Nelson No one in this manly channel wants to see a Lady boy fuck off. 🖕🖕
Kenny_Fa5 👌🏻😂😭😂😭
Flat drive can't be impeccable
“Budget build” **sees sequential shifter**
@Jairo Ian friking robots
Lol yeah budget build vs budget supercar are two different things.
Just what I was thinking, how much do those sequential boxes run. My guess is you could probably another swap or 2 haha
@@willkincaid5841If you're still curious, they run for about 25K USD.
1000 horsepower budget build is a oxymoron
Lol hehe
Part 2 please. When these vids drop you shut up and listen cause you know it's the best advice one can get
Thanks mate. Part 2 next week. we wont claim best advice but we certainly like to make sure its accurate and well proven.
adamlz needs to watch that
I was just thinking that. He did get some Nitto goodies.
ProjectGTR Adam has a RB25
i just posted a link on todays video. hopefully he sees it.
I have mentioned it on his videos, very single upload, he needs too watch every one of these!
They is noot1000hp

How’s the car?
Did you end up getting the R32?
Best channel on TH-cam for GTRs or RB builds
I like how all the GTR shops out there are friendly competitors and all seem to be reputable.
These are the most comprehensive and technical RB videos around.
Awesome work hawkins - keen on learning more.
Can you confirm though, did you end up keeping the forged pistons and add stock rods or?
Next episode shows all :)
It's great and all but BUT they pretty much just took engine apart and sent everything out to get the work done..SOOOO
sorry did i miss the part on how much the budget was, not including the 20k plus box , and hats off to an awesome video
The guy is an RB encyclopedia. So much info on just one componant.
Sweet! Can't wait to see this thing make 1K!
been up all night, its 5 54 am, i want to sleep, motive dvd uploads a vid, who even needs sleep
I love this channel when you guys have Parts to a big series. This is like a big movie series and i love learning. Thank you MotiveDVD. Most detailed and well explained videos ever 👍👍👍 keep up the good work
Wow, I love the detail for this built, please keep that up. Superb video series so far!
Just puttin it out there, your videos are some of the best on the innerwebs!! thanks so much and please keep it up! rip motortrend
The vids keep getting better! masterclass from Jim.
I love these videos. One of the best channels on youtube.
Great series. Looking forward to episode 2.
Thats very true because rb26 engines have smaller transfer holes for oil flow than a 2jz . So getting more oil there somehow is great.
Been waiting to see the updates on this its good to see
Love this kind of content Motive team!
Best channel on You Tube
really interesting to note the differences; 2jz factory fully counterweighted crank, no oil pump issues, can seal 1200rwhp+ with stock head gasket and L19 studs
We eep hearing it can do it but have never seen it actually done in person in Australia
Has the craddle caps or crank caps issue though
Hey please can’t we just enjoy a nice informative learning experience without that Toyota Nissan who’s better mentality, let’s enjoy the engineering for what it is. I’ve not seen as good Australian engineering as these people for along time. So bugger off the comparisons.
All the head gasket dramas in the gen 1 Supra taught Toyota that lesson guessing.
John P 2JZ on in RHD puts the turbo and manifolds next to the clutch and brake fluid master res causing all kinds of heat issues on track days, both the RB and 2JZ are amazing platforms with their own strengths and weaknesses this is not really the place for comparison.
Motive DVD is an amazing story, look at it now as it goes to America
I've watched almost all of motive dvds clips on TH-cam and I have to say you guys are on point , bringing the information any car guy or builder will want to know , instead of slapping us with mystery and a finish product like the US guys do , So much love and respect for you guys doing it right.

Awesome series! Can’t wait for the next episode!
Andrew, Tell us what you really think about twins mate.
Awesome video, thanks for that info and share whit us, keep it coming and working, cheers
Jim know his shit. Can he come to the U.S. and tune my GTR??? 👌 can't wait to see the rest of this monster.
Niiice, can't wait for the next episode :D Awesome work guys
Thank you for the detailed video.
More videos like this and watch your subs grow! Great Job!
always informative. great work!
high quality car channel
Epic Andrew been keen for this!
👌🏼 Nitto FTW
Glad to see a budget bottom end!
Love the quality of your vids. Long time subscriber here...lots of info from MotiveDVD has helped my rb30/26 s14 build.
Good video mate.
Adam Lz needs to watch MotiveDVD and he will learn the way of the Godzilla RB
SEND IT!!
Awesome keep them videos coming
And how much has the build cost from when the car was stock to running 9s (including the car)
Budget build 100 grand 🤣
Will we be seeing the segment on the roll cage build soon :)????
I love the information in these videos but I also love the hell out of your music choices. Any chance of some song information?
Thanks! It is all from royalty free music websites mate. Struggle to remember what any are called to be honest.
I have 4 rb26 and 6 yes 6 supras 2jz my dad had a toyota and nissan dealer when i was younger i kept the cars all are under 20k miles some have 1600 true miles. I made a great decision. why is anyone disliking this? too good of a video ??!
Awesome mate love the content, keep it up 🤙🏻
Great vid guys, keep it up
Great video! I have to save up for a R32 or 33
love your shit fellas
Could listen the whole day to that 9:20
how much power did they make on the old motor before it let go? im looking at buying an R33 but i see lots of people bitching about passing 500whp on a stock block saying its impossible and it will just break...
Do a VCAM! Its a cheaper alternative than stroking to a 2.8 and gives wicked response for circuit!
Actually, 2.8 is probably cheaper and can go bigger cams without Vcam. Its also super expensive to get a Vcam and not budget friendly. We'd love to test one but big bucks.

Nice video!
If someone brings you a stock skyline and says I want it to make 600-700hp reliably, how much would that cost roughly
He keeps mentioning this tech video for sub 9 sec racing. Can anyone find it?
You can bore the block and run larger pistons, it's not junk just because the bore is out of round. Engine building 101.
I see, they wanted to keep it at stock specs.
Great video
So is jim repping crd and nitto
What’s the odometer reading when you bought it
I Really like these video’s, would be cool to see the same thing on a 2jz!
zaggy777 Andrew can not afford so many cars as it all comes out his pocket. Once our channel is big enough to help fund the cars we’ll look at some more brands and engines
Never miss out ok an opportunity to criticise the factory twin set up😂
I been planning to buy gtt r34 and convert it into r34 gtr with rb26 engine and they said i need to find gtr floor plan and a oil sump because right hand drive is not allowed here.
17:02, did Jim from Nitto just sand the block only?
I fucking love these videos 😎
Your car is sick i like it man id die to have car like that i have a audi s6 with the v10 i wish i could do work to it not many know how . In germany they do but not in the usa so much.
Few rb26 blocks cosr nothing here in nz
But did you remember to lick the stamp first?
Asiamies we licked 100 stamps that night on the dyno
Hi I got a similar set up to your first engine with a 6466 what would u say maximum psi for a stock bottom end in a 33
love your stuff guys :)
Always send it!
When exactly was the crankshaft changed to the long type oil drive in the r32s? And is there a way to know without pulling the oil pump?
August 1991. In a factory car you can tell by the car having a pull type clutch instead of a push type.
AdamLz... Take note boy
Ross Lester I'm pretty sure the 26s are more forged than 25s and that's why they can handle more hp
Can we get a background story on the purple R33 you guys keep showing in the racing clips? I know that car use to be a big deal back in the day.
search "GTR700" and much will come up
Its the reason most of us are here
What turbo is the car running??
Long nose or short, flat drive doesn't solve the problem. It is a band-aid. This Nitto oil pump is just a copy of JUN which is not producing any more. Only spline drive solves the problem with pump completely.
i want a GTR.
what does 14 mean in JET014?
I love it.. Keep it up
Andrew great vid!
Did you have problems with the current head studs? Where they the normal or the stronger arp ones?
jasaircraft factory are junk but our last combo, hard to say, as head wasn’t machined so didn’t seal properly over 30psi
Got given some Tomei ones by JMA to try out so we tried them out
MotiveDVD what was your last combo or headstud kit?
jasaircraft ARP2000
MotiveDVD oh ok so there is a possibility the upgraded arp (better than the arp2000) set may hold the head down. :)
should call this challenge rbusta
i dont understand why u cant buy a block separately whats the problem exactly?
Need to hone the block and fresh piston rings etc and most likely need oversize pistons. Simply not worth it to go all stock again. Rather buy a stock running engine.
" put some rods in it and send it " 😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍✌🍻
Can someone Please tell me, I’ve been lookin everywhere to find like a list on just what I need to get the rb26(in a r34) to 1000 horsepower. It would mean the world to me if someone could answer to this🙏🙏
im surprised the oil pump backing plate isnt hard anodized
John Knight can’t see it so no need to be made pretty 😁
more for a wear protection, atmoic's barra pump backing plate is hard anodized
LOL 1000 Budget Build Love It!!
Great video can’t wait for the next will it be once a week or?
Hayden love to commit to a schedule but it’s all own time and money so it’s when we can. We’re hoping next week for part 2
MotiveDVD thanks man look forward to it
How do you know if you have a Series 1 or Series 2 rb26 crankshaft?
From outside you cant, but long nose crank is series 2
Major suspense mixed with anticipation only to be answered with disappointment.... but where’s final dyno figures?? 😩
Once again though amazing as always from motive and no bull real world information etc love your work
Greg Jones part 2
The block is toast ?! I’m sure it is , I’ve got blocks bored out and re sleeved why bother with buying another block . But I guess 50 thousands of is a lot in wear on a cylinder walls
Gaz Girl he said out of bore 3-6 thou. At 50k your halfway inside the water jacket
B00steDevil wrong maybe get your ears checked muppet. No he said 50 thousands of an inche and not 50 k wtf you on about . Clueless
B00steDevil American troll what would you know
Wow still no Audi TT videos.
I love Mecanic ⛽️🚔
So I don't have a nitto oil pump but I do have the n1 pump. I know it's better than factory but does anyone know what the failing point of these pumps or any issues?
ClutchkickPJ how long is piece of string. We made a rock pump last with good driving and tuning
