I was at this show when they filmed this video and Testament are definitely one of the best bands live! Chuck Billy’s vocals are just as good if not better live. That’s a big deal because most bands no matter how good they are always suffer in the live vocal department. Having Gene Hoglan and Steve Di Gorgio back in the band full time makes such a huge difference! The Rhythm Section Of The Apocalypse! Alex Skolnick And Eric Peterson are both equally amazing song writers as well as excellent live performers! With Testament releasing another brilliant album this year, I hope they continue with this line up because they are all so damn awesome together!
Testament is one of my bucket list bands. Can't wait for the "we're all gonna catch a cold lockdown" is shown to be the bullshit that it is and they hit the road for the new album.
Every time I hear this song I get tears. My Native American cousin Terry ( our family is blending with Native Americans, Caucasian and Hispanic ) was brutally murdered at age 18. I sing these words for him because I know that one day the Great Spirit will unite us together again . Thank you TestAmenT for writing a song that truly tugs at my heart strings❤️
I think they're better today. I think Chucks voice is better, it's even more metal than before, he gets that great raspy death metal sound, and still able to sing melodic. Alex is an even more well versed guitarist than he was before, adding his Jazz influences in now, and Eric Peterson is better now because he is more confident in his abilities/etc, and no disrespect to Louie Clemente, but Gene Hoglan is just one of the best drummers in the world.
Testament 2013 is the best version of Testament. It's rare that a band keeps getting better and better. Chuck sounds fantastic, the duo of Alex and Eric contrasting solos and styles just blends so amazingly in the music, and Greg and Gene holding down the groove. I just feel Testament is firing on all cylinders right now, and this video is just more proof.
