I just adore watching these videos when it's cold out. Something about watching you next to a wood stove cooking up a hot meal or making a hot drink just makes me feel cozy inside. It's brilliant Jay. Can't wait to do it all winter long.
Loved your video, like usual. Being retired and disabled, through you I am fulfilling my sunset years as I had originally wanted to do, but now cannot. Such is life! Take care!
Jay, from a Scottish brother to a Canadian brother, you help a lot of us remember that life is fairly simple and enjoyable if you find the thing or things that make you smile and feel at one with the world around us. Every video I have watched over the past 3 or4 yrs gives me an enormous sense of peace and contentment and for that I thank you my friend.
I popped this open when there wasn't any comments. But Richard got a comment first. 👍Hi Jay and Jay channel fans! Love this channel and Jay's camp food. (❤ from the States)
That gap between the top of your socks and the bottom of your long johns is called the "Pneumonia Gap", according to an old friend of mine. As a young SoCal gal living in the PNW, I used to be a "double-socker" in that I would wear 2 pairs of socks. One pair under my long johns and one pair over. After 40 years of living in the PNW, I no longer double sock and rarely wear long johns any more, but after moving to north Idaho 10 years ago, I had to re-aclimatize myself to the much colder, snowier winters it seems we get a heavy cold snap at least 1x every winter and I'm glad I still have thermal long johns, even more glad that I still fit into them, hahaha!
Your energy and enthusiasm for this type of lifestyle is really palpable. I detest everything about winter but will always watch your videos because they are that fun! You will be at one million subs before you know it!! Stay warm Jay 🌨❄👍🏼
Your effort with your production and time spent with your creative cutaways are appreciated, Jay. I am really enjoying your content and diary. You have become a favorite and I look forward to supporting you with some financial purchases soon. My wife and I are looking forward to you returning to the cabin. After having watched Shawn for the last six years or so, I can now say I look forward to your growth. Keep up the great work.
Another banger Jay! So glad it is winter for you. I could spend hours watching, all that snow is fantastic!! And the wood burner. Just superb! Glad your snow mobile started up, although being stranded there wouldn't be so bad eh? Glad to see you doing so well. Take care! ❄❄
Years ago when my son was 7-10 years old, we would camp outside on the third Saturday in January. We were with a group and an experienced leader. He would not permit any source of heat inside our tents, other than Hot Hands. My son and I always double bagged and never got cold. But it took a lot of effort to crawl out of the warm sleeping bags.
Great to see you back at the winter tent site. It's always a treat when your videos pop up. I could feel the wind chill as I watched the video. It has to be a relief when the snowmobile starts, but I always wonder what happens when it doesn't. Be safe, and I'll be back watching...really soon.
I love your drone shots. The wind blowing the snow across the lake was beautiful. I always enjoy your videos. Missed the northern lights this time. First time in ages I didn’t see them lol
Very nice to see you in a winter setting. I’m cold just watching you set up! UNTIL I smelled your delicious supper cooking over the wood stove. Jay, you sure know how to make a cozy setting. Until next time. Bye 👋
Jay, you were in your element this video. I smiled when you were sitting outside the tent drinking something hot because you looked like you were a king, surveying your kingdom...lol. Glad you left it set up, so you'll have more time to do other things when you return. Looking forward to the cabin renovations. Take care!
Hey Jay, you mentioned a new tent is on it’s way to replace the one a bear torn up. Would it be helpful for you to build a shed, next to your tent, use what you can of the old torn tent to cover it and park your snowmobile in it? Even put a small stove in it, like the one you use when camping. That way when you know you are leaving the next day, put a little fire in it to keep the snowmobile warm. Maybe even store wood in it. I was just thinking and wondering.😁😁 Loved this camping trip. Keep up the great work!
I miss the older sleds, mine was the ‘98 skidoo grand touring…now with kids and wife I watch your videos and dream about winter camping! Great stuff keep it coming!
Awesome video jay. Great to be back at the hot tent!! All Set up for winter. It’s been amazing everything you have done since doing this full time. Pretty incredible!! Thanks for taking us along!!!!!
Just watching this frigid weather makes me feel extra cozy inside my place. I think growing up in Illinois as a kid makes me appreciate warmer weather. 🤷🏼♀️
I really enjoy watching you work your way through these really really cold temperatures. I am not a cold weather person to the extent that you are, but it's fun watching you solve problems and do it in such cold awful weather.
Glad she started Jay. Those tents are next level. Love them. I put a baffle in the first piece of stove pipe and by using the baffle and the air intake I’ve increased burn time and efficiency not that the Caminus stoves aren’t super efficient to start with. Your sleeping bag set up reminds me of the good old Woods Five Star sleeping bags. Looking forward to the next one ud.
I just love love your adventures in the great country that we call home. I'm not the north but love seeing the NWT!! I'm in southern Saskatchewan! Keep up the good work Jay.
Hi Jay, your comment rang true to my younger self...when you talked about the cold and wind and the only thing between you and basically freezing to death is the tent and the wood stove. Concurring mother nature and all she has to offer and not only surviving but thriving in an extreme and challenging environment brings such a sense of accomplishment. I remember relishing brutal cold and the challenges it creates. I love watching you winter videos. And to coin someone else's phrase, I'll keep watching and "I'll be back, really soon"
Couldn’t figure out why you had tent and cabin etc etc. Thanks for clearing that up telling us about how/when lakes are safe for snow mobile. Makes total sense now.
I really appreciate you making these videos for us, It can’t be easy even though you make it look easy…. I have a medical condition where my body can’t handle the cold but I get to enjoy it through your eyes… I really appreciate it Jay ❤
Hi Jay I’ve followed you from the beginning and don’t comment much. I love your vlogs and you’re so natural in front of the camera. I love your cooking and then I always end up laughing at you when you’re enjoying the food and saying “ Oh man” this is delicious or whatever . 😄🇨🇮
As always, good to see you. You have sold me on these tents. If I buy a new tent soon, it will one of these tents, no doubt. See you soon, stay safe and warm.
Love that tent, very nice set up, so cozy ! Enjoyed my morning coffee watching it and totally enjoyed it. That fire was gold ! Thanks for bringing us along Jay, always a great time ! 👍🏼
Thanks for taking us along with you Jay! Too much hardware in my back and arthritis getting worse by the day to be able to do this now like I did back in my youth. And a BIG THANKS for all the work behind these awesome video's you put in!
Man, even the trees were shivering! BRRRRR!!! I'm glad your snowmobile started. You should probably get a new battery, though, just in case. I love that hot tent! I'd get one myself, but honestly, there's no use for it where I live. :( It very rarely even gets below freezing here. Maybe one night a winter, it'll get down to 12 degrees F. But only for one night. And it never snows. So, that lovely RBM tent would be way overkill. Which is too bad!!
i really do look forward to all your videos, when i see you have a new video, i always make a coffee and chill, thank you for al lyour hard working making these, truly appreciate Jay :)
Thanks Jay, been watching you for a couple years but don5 comment too often…….I appreciate all the work you put into your beautiful videos…….I also have a 2021 Ski Doo Expedition with a 600 Ace engine same as you I believe…….very reliable snowmobile for two persons, although mine does not get used as much as yours…….Please keep up all the great work you do…….Camping, especially in the winter is also a passion with me………
I just adore watching these videos when it's cold out. Something about watching you next to a wood stove cooking up a hot meal or making a hot drink just makes me feel cozy inside. It's brilliant Jay. Can't wait to do it all winter long.
I know what you mean... I Love watching Jay in the bitter cold also
I know what you mean. I also get that cozy feeling watching him sitting by the wood stove.
The shot when you went out to wash the dishes. I can appreciate the work it took. Very cool scene. Your videography here is a level up!
Loved your video, like usual. Being retired and disabled, through you I am fulfilling my sunset years as I had originally wanted to do, but now cannot. Such is life! Take care!
Same here Godspeed
Jay just flipped through some of the comments… you really have a world wide following!!!! Well done.

Hello I hope all is well!
That's what I enjoy, tent camping.
Hi from Melbourne Australia. Enjoying this more as it's nearly Summer here. I prefer winter.

Spring here in the Huon Valley Tasmania. Bees buzzing around my garden as I watch Jay in the frozen north. Bliss..
Thanks for transporting me to Canada in your wonderful tent. Love your videos Jay, keep them coming!🏴
Boy, you could hear that wind just whipping around! I love when winter hits you. The videos are so much fun.
We’re Back!! I ❤ all your videos but these tent adventures in the cold and snow speak to me! On to the next one ☺️

Even though it is really cold it looks very cozy. I love that tent. Thanks Jay. I love the winter.
Every time I tune in to jay in the winter makes me wanna start up the log burner. Love the hot winter tents. Crucial in those temps.
Always so thrilling to see the snow and ice in the NWT. Winter is here!!

I'm in the UK so don't get anywhere near as cold as this, but I do love being in a tent comfy and warm but listening to the bad weather outside! 💙
I really enjoy watching you work your way through these really really cold temperatures. I am not a cold weather person to the extent that you are, but it's fun watching you solve problems and do it in such cold awful weather.
