Before a music video for a song is released I always imagine one for it while listening to the song. I guess that's the problem with working in the creative field for a living. My mind paints visuals and a narrative the way you would with a book. So for this one I kept seeing mermaids in my mind. Initially Dan is captivated by them, drawn into the depths, but when he wants to surface again and swim back to his lover, the mermaids keep him submerged. The once beautiful idea of a mermaid becomes darker as he sinks beneath the shimmering waves with them, consumed by the oceanic paradise. This video is really cool though. Very different from what I pictured but I love how suggestive the editing is without the video coming off as sleazy. It's tasteful. Nicely done! Phew, this song is truly magick though. Dan can do no wrong!
