CNN’s Chris Cuomo and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) discuss the text messages between two FBI agents that some Republicans say prove the Robert Mueller investigation is biased against Trump.
It doesn’t matter if someone made a mistake elsewhere. But I’ll say this, nobody in a secret society calls it a secret society these days. FBI agents, on government phones, aren’t stupid. You can criticize the president because he is clearly a bad person based on factual information collected over his lifetime. Disliking someone like that is normal, not partisan. I think name calling is what is wrong with our current state of discourse. It adds no value to the conversation. If you ever watch Cuomo's interviews, you'd know that he debates and asks you to debate him back. It's not his fault that some people have no skill in debates (KellyAnne) or a brash style that isn't furthering the discussion. Gaetz was NOT ambushed. You could tell by the way he worked hard to use talking points that were not in line with an open debate. An open debate is when you bring together different points of view and listen to both/all sides of an argument and come to a consensus or quorum. There was only him waiting agitated before the interview even began. He had a narrative and he was going to put it out there and not listen to what I thought were rational and reasonable questions. The whole problem is that there is a lot of cherry picking going on with the actual texts and they are being used to put together a narrative with a false equivalency. If you knew that they were talking about the Putin calendars being sent out to people as a JOKE as a lead into the part of the text about a "secret society" would you still think that was a serious declaration? No reasonable person in a conversation would assume that the two were separate in tone and intent. But since it's a text (like emails) tone can be layered over the top and change the meaning of every email. *thus the internet meme: "Your sarcasm detector must be broke". This was all tongue in cheek. But the problem you have is that you can't know what the meaning is without the further information now available which this interview did not allude to.
