I've been making jewelry for roughly a year now (mostly bracelets, some earrings, and the occasional necklace) and have been blessed with a few dedicated customers! But I am mostly just teaching myself as I go along... when I say my mind was BLOWN when I saw your technique when wrapping the wire around with earrings!! Such a lovely technique!!! I've always used the standard eyelets and clipped off the rest... now I can save materials while also making my designs look better! :D
Thanks Lindsay. I needed a red bracelet and took washers from the hardware store, washed them to get the oil off and then painted them with metallic craft paint. Used black beads as spacers. It's just a funky piece of jewelry.
I checked out Antelope Beads, and a great thing about them is that ALL of their findings are nickel-free! I know I'm not alone with a nickel allergy, and for so many years I could not wear costume jewelry, and sometimes not even decent jewelry, if nickel was used as an alloy. So for years and years and years I just gave up on finding earrings. And for those fish hook ear wires, there are these little silicone thingees to put on the back of the wire which keeps them from coming out. Yeah, if I ever did find earrings I could wear, chances are pretty good I lost one of them! I bought a little package of these silicone things and will not lose any more earrings.
Man Lindsay, you really are a 'Jack-ie of all trades' LOL! It was so much fun watching this and if I was younger, I'd be all over it, but I know these weathered hands of mine could not handle doing projects like this. I had a blast, Lindsay and as always, TFS!
I will check out the website you mentioned, thanks. I haven't made any jewellery for ages as I was fed up with making the same thing over and over. I need to add to my skills I think.
Bo Ho Ho Ho Nice designs Pretty Lady. It is funny I never heard of Antelope Beads but will have to check them out. Thanks for the ideas. I tried the 1st bracelet but made a few changes and it turned out good. Yours is blingier, hope that is a word. haha. TYVM
I havent done any jewelry making in ages! Your designs are beautiful and definitely inspired me to breakout the supplies to see what I can make. I particular loved the leather bracelets. I don't think that supply was available when I was beading so I'll hbe to take a look and see how much they are to order. Thanks for brining these to my attention.
it's pretty affordable as you can order just the amount you need if you don't want to invest in a spool and they have a variety of materials to pick from so you can get exactly how much of what you want:
I believe the super glue sold for jewelrymaking contains rubberized particles to keep them from getting brittle so it will hold better. You could use an E6000 I'd you are worried tho, just make sure to let it fully cure before wearing.
Love all these creations. So excited to see a jewelry video. Definitely going to have to try these out. Hope there's more jewelry videos to come. Thanks so much for sharing!
9/10/23 1st. Viewer I luv ur design. I would like to know what kind of chains ur using? And what it's made of. It looks like real gold and it's very thin or delicate. I subscribed. Be blessed 🙏🏽💜
Haven't checked back in awhile here as watercolors is not my thing.. I go to other TH-camrs for painting lessons.. I fell in love with Lindsay the Frugal Crafter.. I miss her.. but ofcourse you are allowed to change and evolve... its your channel after all.. lol So nice to see you more blonde too... blonde was so your color... brown was ok... but not 'Lindsay' if that makes sense.. I hope you'll do more crafty videos..
Hi! What size wire did you use for the first bracelet? I just looked at all the comments and no one else asked - guess everyone's already a beader - and the wire is not in the supplies. Help!
I just saw this site and am enamored lol, i love working with my hands and was looking for something to do with my grand daughters for arts and craft and this is ideal, i got lost a couple of times watching the video as you were making your video it comes off camera when your doing things, then i have to wonder how you did it and guess at it, can you help by fixing the camera to catch your moves? greatly appreciate this so much, thanks for sharing with us. Keep healthy and safe.
Thanks for reminding me how much fun beading can be! Watercolors have consumed my time lately so it would be nice to work with something I am good at doing. I focused on seed bead mostly but the boho style looks fun and carefree. God knows I could start my own bead store from my bead stash!! Keep up the great inspirations! And I may just check out Antelope beads.😉
Lindsay, I know I'm late to the party, but your boho20 discount code has expired. Is there any way you could get Antelope Beads to accept the 20% discount? There are quite a few things I'd like to purchase from them.
I especially love the bracelets! After watching this today I am going to try my hand at earrings again. Lord knows I have enough beads in my stash that need to be used. ;)
I feel like this is too advanced for me because I don’t know how to do the knots and I felt like it was so fast that I had no idea how to do that first one because it was already halfway made. That’s not any fault of yours I’m just saying that this was just hard to follow for somebody who doesn’t have a lot of experience
Lovely, thank you for sharing 🤟🏻❤️
Will you tutorial your necklace 🥰
I might have done a written one on my blog.
great video

Thanks Lindsay. Fascinating. I can't do fine work like this due to nerve damage but it is wonderful to watch. Thanks again blondie 😘👍
Thanks Annette, I am enjoying the blond hair while I have my summer tan:)
Doesn’t the super glue degrade over time? It holds quickly but my fear would be it won’t hold up over time. Would there be another glue you could use?
I believe the super glue sold for jewelrymaking contains rubberized particles to keep them from getting brittle so it will hold better. You could use an E6000 I'd you are worried tho, just make sure to let it fully cure before wearing.
Lovely
Thanks!

I thought I was watching an advertisement for a minute then 😱
AliLou Creations yep, such a disappointing turn for this channel. Not so “frugal” anymore 👎🏻
Great ideas! TFS
You are so welcome!
Love the one you’re wearing, was looking for the center piece and is not listed on the website under the necklace, maybe they r out of stock?

Love this! Is there anything you DON’T do???
I like to dabble in all sorts of arts and crafts:)
Antelope beads is closed, where do you go now?
Try fire mountain gems
not a fan of the first one too chunky and messy for me, but the cuffs were a definite winner.
I especially love the bracelets! After watching this today I am going to try my hand at earrings again. Lord knows I have enough beads in my stash that need to be used. ;)
Thanks for the great ideas. Also you look great are you doing anything special?

Doesn't mean you're wrong 😉 More like Boohoo design.

Yay - you have woken up my bead-making love again... What great ideas

👍✌️🙏❤️
Just don't use real leather because how pretentious and shitty are we as humans that we think someone should die so that we can look pretty?
Loving this! Tks for sharing this project with us ☺️
You are so welcome!
