    You didn't mention it, but this thrower is pretty much a direct fit to Milwaukee's quick lock system - I've run this thing using my string trimmer head for two years so far, no issues. Requires a very minimal modification.

      Interesting, I didn't know they were compatible! What did you end up having to modify?

      Had no idea they were that close of a match, but how much oomph and runtime does the Milwaukee powerhead have for this thrower with its much smaller battery? An M18 12ah battery only has as much capacity as an Ego 4ah...

      @CarbonKevin 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      @@DoresoomReviews there's a little plastic tab on ego attachments that stop the shaft from sliding into the Milwaukee power head, grind that off and it's good to go.

      @@JamesCusano I can blow my 40x20 driveway out when of on a single 12.0 charge for most snowfalls. Only had to have a second battery when there was more snow, and that was quite heavy, too. Battery life just hasn't been an issue for me.

    I laughed at the plastic equivalent Makita released when I first saw it, but that's really quick and effective.

    My husband bought me one for Christmas three years ago and I LOVED it until I didn’t. It throws snow as advertised, but it’s too heavy to use for a long period of time. I had to decide which ache I wanted … back ache from shoveling or arm & shoulder aches from using this. Then I thought aha…I’ll purchase the ego shoulder strap just to see if that would help. Guess what? I’m back in love with my snow shovel. All that being said to share with the ladies….buy the strap to go with and you will find snow blowing a breeze without the pain!👍👍

      Get a backpack battery holder that lightens it up substantially.

    I’ve used mine in 6” wet snow and it still throws 10-20 feet. Does way more than I expected it to. I have a very small driveway and just couldn’t justify spending a lot on a snowblower, but at this price the little bit of time it saves me works out.

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Nice to know it can handle snow that deep - I haven't tried mine for anything that heavy.

    • @JamesCusano
      @JamesCusano 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I've done up to 10-12" of fluffy snow with it, but you have to only do half-widths at a time so it can knock down the snow low enough to throw over it - which makes it slower than a regular shovel at that point. It definitely has enough power to clear the 6" that they claim regardless of the snow type. Have only had the "overload clutch" engage once when I caught a random stone in the auger, and it took a bit of thawing/warming the plastic to pry it out.

    I'm seeing a lot of PSA on the TV news about clearing snow from fire hydrants. most people don't do it because it's heavy work with a regular shovel. would that electric shovel make the job any easier?

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't think it would help with that much. It's going to be deep packed snow from the snowplow, and it would be just as heavy holding this snow shovel up in the air.

    • @mrbubetube
      @mrbubetube 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@DoresoomReviews or maybe you could chop the snow pile down with a garden hoe or straight hoe and then throw it with the electric shovel. but I'm also wondering if you can just push the electric shovel into the pile and as it throws the snow from the bottom, the snow above it would just fall down and then it could throw that too. don't know if it would work that way or not. do you have a fire hydrant near you with snow piled up around it?

      @@DoresoomReviews oh, if you could find one that's piled in from a city snowplow, that would be great! I've looked for videos of that and there's many on youtube, but none of them show a better way of doing it. All the firemen and volunteers in those videos all clear snow from the fire hydrants the same way it was done 100 years ago, manually with a digging shovel or scoop shovel. You'd think there would be a better way of doing it by now but I'm not seeing it. I find that strangely curious. Maybe it can't be done any other way, I don't know.

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I tried it today on the pile the snowplow left behind. It gets pretty tiring holding up the shovel attachment, but you don't have to do much other than that. It just kind of slowly grinds the pile away.

    Thank you for the reviewing video. I agree to the people who saying the front is too heavy as a "Show Shovel" since when using a "Shovel" you do lift it up when backing up; however, it is a great "Show Pusher" which does not require the operator to lift the tool during operation. It's a complete incorrect marketing naming to cause the unnecessary complains. That been said, the limitation of 60 degree angle and the scrapper bar design makes this unit not a great tool for me after 3 usages on my balcony's with railings when snow is deeper. I found the Garant 62V electric cordless turbine head show shovel with adjustable skid shoes with adjustable height pitch and 180 degree rotation chute much lighter and agronomical on my asphalt surface upper balcony with high railings as well as cracks and uneven surfaces especially against two enclosed walls needs 90 degree angle.

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That Garant is a very unique design. I've never seen a fan style snowblower intake like that. How well does it handle slushy snow?

      Basically what his Video alluded to. This certainly not designed for deep/ heavier snow. It does have impressive throw, straight on, as viewed in the video.

      @DoresoomReviews  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's an effective little heater, and so far no issues with the oscillation on mine. I just used it last week to get my garage temperature up for the paint to dry on my daughter's Christmas gift - a Ninja Warrior warped wall.

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think it would be fine, but I don't know for sure since I just have a patio. If you plan on using it for both a driveway and decking, I'd give the scraper bar a good brushing off between the two so you don't have any grit trapped in it for your deck.

    I prefer the bristle brush for anything under 1.5". I only used mine a few times over the past two winters, I works well for cleaning off the patio, but on anything that's not dry powder, it gets bogged down and stops. For small confined spaces, it's ok, but I would never recommend someone buying this as their primary means of snow removal.
