That interior is the most polarizing thing i've seen in a while. I totally hated it, then looked at it again and kinda love it. I stil have mixed feelings but i would have to see it in person to decide.@@electrikoptik

You had the M3 stressing!! He was thinking twice about having passed you and over drove that corner! Your sitting there, race experience, cool as a cucumber. It is a beautiful sight to see and a reminder the calmest driver has the edge!
From my long experience in sim-racing, I think that is very true.
Stress can mess up your driving skills something fierce.
In Russian we say in such cases: “If you can’t shit, don’t torture your ass”
Possibly had to pause to collect their pants, after drifting 2-3 corners previously, and decided to bow out, respectfully! They definitely outmatched in power, but driver skill was not quite the same!
You could see how proud of the GR the owner was and the admiration for Misha’s driving in his face.

Gr Yaris has crazy grip with AR1'S It's been a while since I've seen such a full throttle lap, a stage 1 tune at least could even out the power to grip ratio a bit more in this case

The 2024 version will get the 300hp version of the 3-cyl, though Europe will get the 280hp instead.. (probably because of some emissions stuff or something like that)

This has probably been brought up before but I would love a rear cam view.
Misha you are correct TC is not fully off! however you need to do the pedal dance to fully deactivate it! very good lap.
You just hold down the TC button for 5 seconds instead of pressing it and you see Expert mode disappear.

I absolutely love that car, and the newest version makes me wanna buy one. Although, I live in France, and for the same price i could buy a used F82 M4 CS...
BMW parts prices are quite a lot €€ than Toyota ones which you should consider.
@@alexlam24I know that, I own an m240i with the B58. Parts are expansive, but i also used to own a GT86, and buying parts directly at Toyota isn't really much cheaper than BMW...
Misha really got on it when that BMW passed him and showed his racecraft, but also how good the GR Yaris is with some baseline performance mods.

I believe the Yaris seats have to be mounted that high for crash testing. I am not a Toyota engineer, but it was brought up in Matt Watson's coverage of the newer version. The new ones have a slightly lower position apparently - again I really have no idea I am american and couldn't get a GR Corrola if my life depended on it.
new one is only 1” lower right? doesnt the race car versions are high as well? i thought thats why the seats in the road car are a lil high
@@tinhinnh I'd love to find out. I've seen the car in person - it's pretty small. I imagine if an X5 or X7 BMW hit one of these, the higher seat would make the impact and airbag deployment more "survivable".

the GR Yaris is truly impressive, even with a passenger onboard! That E92 owner is something else, absolutely relentless in how he throw his car around corners. But the all-wheel-drive system of the Yaris shows no mercy, especially on the twisty corners of the Nürburgring. The E92 didnt stand a chance lol, especially with a skilled driver like Misha behind the wheel.

Ok but honestly the cooling solution seems really impressive, coolant temp didn't even flinch, I wonder what about oil temp. The car felt like a pocket rocket, slow acceleration but felt like it maintains the speed with ease.
Need to up the boost to spruce up that engine. Its kinda slow especially for the capabilities of the chassis .

Why no heel-and-toe? Is the iMT system good? Is the pedal placement very uncomfortable for heel-and-toe?
both answer are yes from my experience. I use heel&toe on older cars, but not in my gr yaris on track.
yea pedal placement is bad for heel and toe, i usually do it myself on most of my cars but i don't do it in the Yaris and yes the iMT has been excellent for me so far, the faster you go the better it gets. basically the faster you go the whole car gets better.
Plus one to those guys above ⬆️ imt is nice and pedals are not.

i always thought would never ever consider buy a 3 banger engine, thats why i got a type r, but man, those Gr Yaris are almost impossible not to love them, are fast, powerful, good looking, and questionning myself if looking for one in the near future or not 🤣🤣🤣. Cheers everyone!!!

1:45 maybe cause Nothern Europe people are 7-10 cm taller on average. I’m 188cm/ 6‘2“foot and I have problems with any Toyota build in the 00s except the Avensis. Sad that you can’t cut them down due to the TÜV.
