Brit in Poland is the genuine account of a British Expat who lives in Warsaw, through this account I want to show people what it is like to live abroad, to educate people about the country of Poland, to tell the history of Poland and to show off what this place has to offer, providing guides to locations I have visited and experiences I have taken part in.

Thank you for the feedback 😊
I try to respond to as much as I can…though may skip some of the crazier messages haha!
Good to know I am proving useful, I hope to bring as much of Poland to light as I can in time 😊
For Canadians is about 1/3 so 3000 zloty is approximately 1000 in CAD
There used to be Tesco in Poland too. I used to do some shopping in the Czestochowa branch and there used to be a Tesco at the very end of the metro line in Warsaw. Apparently, these shops change their names every five years as they get tax breaks for the first five years so after that, they move on instead and the shop has a new different owner.
I went to that Tesco once, big store with a lot of cheap products!
There used to be an M&S too apparently, though from what I hear it was more clothing than food
If you buy clothes in these mall boutiques you pay a few times more than in chain shops like Pepco or Sinsai, same clothes with comparable quality.
Thank you for the advice 😊
I haven’t tried out these other retailers yet, Pepco I have seen a little but more for household products
It's always the best to order on the internet, like "Zalando" etc.
@@maxalbon9557 true, though I’m a little old fashioned and like shopping in stores when I can 😅
Very informative! What would you say the typical monthly wage is for an office worker in Warsaw? 3000 Zloty/£600 rent per month sounds very reasonable for a 1 bed apartment in the capital city but only really if that reflects less than 40-50% of your monthly pay
Wages vary a lot by sector, I think generally the average is 4/5k per month for a lot of people, at least those starting out in office jobs
Mate 40 to 50% of a paycheck is utterly ridiculous even 35% seems unreasonable and that being a 2 bed flat regardless where as a Scottish resident we define over 35% as poverty.
@@Peacefulnessxxx rent in Warsaw unfortunately is getting worse every year, living alone is quite tough without a decent salary!
I have visited Poland many times and would like to start a new life there. What kind of jobs are easy to get for a brit?
Teaching English I’d say is the number one vocation here, though there are quite a few English speaking companies here, I work in IT for example
Polands is the worst if it comes to prices, as a pole myself its better for u to go to like germany or netherlands for example
@@MangoPL18 yeah…this country is used a bit like slave labour for companies based abroad 😕
Is it Mokotow ? Raclawicka ?
This was shot around Śródmieście 🙂
Which bills come quarterly?
Well maybe more bi-monthly, but water for example 😊
What's the rough cost of living for an international student per month?
I’m not a student and haven’t been in this country…depends how wasted you get while partying 😂
So I have no idea what costs are in regards to university accommodation for example
I’ve given you an idea of the costs of products here, so better to work it out based on your lifestyle choices 😉
Also many museums and other places offer student discounts so again I wouldn’t know prices there
@@britinpoland2392 I plan to exclude all museum, partying from my list just for cost saving 😅 and I'm fine with that, I just want to calculate if I can afford living there + find a part time job
@@nikstvs8685 well you have all your basic costs, rent (variable) + Utilities (approx 200 a month) + internet (80zl per month) + phone bill (variable) + food (500-1000 per month depending on diet)
Those are your basics for survival
@@britinpoland2392 anyways i decided to save some more money just in case and apply for studies in September 2024 😊
Can I afford to live in Poland if my monthly pension is $1,000 a month?
If you find somewhere cheap to live it’s doable, a lot of starting salaries are around that kind of amount in IT
You would expect it to be cheaper
It used to be when I first moved here, but inflation hit hard in the recent years 😕
Use dollar terms
I’m sure people can calculate easily 😉
I think you should be a flat
In an ideal world that would be perfect 😅
Be?
Be? Buy chyba 😁
@@wojstube9359 😅 I could try to ‘be’ also 😜
@@britinpoland2392😉
This is a fairly useless video if you don`t tell us the prices in Pounds £GBP!!!! "Zloty" means nothing whatsoever to 99% of British & Irish people.
This video is meant for anyone coming to Poland for the purpose of travel or work as a guide to what they can expect, which is why at the start I give some basic conversion rates for £’s and Euro’s 🙂
you really can't do the maths bro ????
HARRY POTTER IS OCCULTIC book and story- I DONT RECOMAND it. Warsaw is NOT a good representation of Poland.
Thanks for your update
I am interested in Poland
How can I get your personal contact
Pls can you help me move to Poland.
Thank you
Hi, I’m afraid I cannot help anyone move to Poland, I do not have the knowledge or experience for that, I am not an immigration specialist.
All I can do is make videos on topics to educate people about Poland, and help people who are here or who are interested in the country.
If there are any topics that would be useful to you, you may suggest and if I have the knowledge about it I can make a video
