    Just imagine, you can pay £360 to stand at an Oasis concert or about £10 to sit and listen to the Scott Brothers. What a crazy world.

      And have a far better experience at the latter IMHO. But then I wouldn’t be seen dead at an Oasis concert - I have fairly eclectic musical tastes, but that doesn’t include Noel and Liam. Each to their own I guess.

    When I went to England to attend Jonathan's RAH Proms recital, I stayed an extra week to go to the Brother's piano duet concert at Rochdale. The concerts were, of course, amazing! Vivaldi's Summer arranged for piano four hands was exceptionally well done and fun. But the reason I'm recounting this here is that I got a chance to speak to them after the concert. For the record to those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting them in person, I am happy to report that Jonathan and Tom are both as amiable, genuine, and funny as they appear to be in the videos. Anyways, the point I'm trying to get to is that I said to Tom I hope he finds good local pigeons. He was quite happy about that and told it to Jonathan, and the latter replied to the effect of Tom has a good ones coming up. I'm assuming the pigeons in this video were the good ones, and I will say that they are indeed good pigeons! 😆

    Seriously these trip vlogs are both great fun, interesting (at an uptempo speed - Tom) and educational. And we get to hear some great instruments AND Jonathan doing what he does the best......well you too Tom. But we've also heard Tom play piano too so there's that!! LOL!! I love watching these things from the comfort of my armchair and enjoying what playing we get to hear. Love that you gave me a snippet of The Sunken Cathedral in that church with the wonderful chamade and tubular bells. Has to be one of many of my favorite pieces you play. STILL waiting for you to discover and play a reduction of Dupre's Poeme Heroique - playing in the brass on the organ unless you choose to hire a brass section to play along!! HAHA!! These aren't the concert videos so we never hear a great deal - but it's impetus to just go and listen to the longer concert videos or the full organ pieces you record and have on your channel. By the way that mini-Kleis organ is nice. Would be a nice one if one had a big room with tall ceilings at home. I WISH!! AND I LOVE the Royal Albert Hall instrument. I'm sooo happy I bought the sampled MIDI virtual instrument library of that great organ. Not the complete thing - I mean how could they anyway - but it was the Covid effort by that wonderful guy who did the work to get it done during those days. And I bought it - GREAT price for a WIDE variety of the stops and while not a full thing - again how could they - but a nice overall representation from subtle and sweet to powerful and commanding. GREAT organ. I always wonder though WHY they opted for 9,999 pipes and not just ONE more tiny pipe for a full 10K? Seems like someone's joke. Still one of my faves.
    Personally yours is a favorite channel indeed. Keep up the great work on these and I'm sure the masses will keep watching - including me. Oh and another my favorite pieces (thank you) - the St. Saens - I long to learn that piece someday. Sigh. Cheers mates.

Perhaps what drives him is the fact that he really enjoys challenges. Congratulations to the two challenging organ musicians and wonderful images/sounds.🙌👍🥰

I heard Jonathan being interviewed on Radio 3 and really enjoyed his Prom début. I do hope to hear/see you live one day! My favourite bit of the video? The Organs in the Munich Cathedral are the Opus Magnum of the late bavarian organ builder Georg Jann, who died in 2019. He and the former Cathedral organist Prof. Franz Lehrndorfer (+2013) developed the Concept for the four new organs in the Cathedral and then convinced the cathedral chapter to commission the new building of the Cathedral organs in 1994. Although Georg Jann represented more traditionel neo-baroque sound concepts, he also took French and English Elements into account early on. This gives the large organ a richness of Sound and Power….

    • @epincion
      @epincion 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for this information. The organs certainly sound magnificent and the acoustic in the cathedral is amazing although at times I imagine it must be hard for the organist to take account of.

      @@epincion The Reverb of 11-12 seconds is for a „empty“ Cathedral. The reverb of the late gothic Cathedral with Full congregation is down to 5-7 seconds. Would be cool to hear you play the Kleis organ in Himmerod Monastery. 9 seconds of reverb.
    Oh btw, your channel is really great.

    Would you do a animation piano and organ concert for note dame cathedral in Paris because the first organ was destroyed by fire in 2019

      The organ in Notre Dame Paris survived the fire only with some smoke damage.
