Utterly wonderful gentlemen! Full of humour and talent. Amazing sights at every place. Hard to pick a favourite. Well done to those repairing the Cavaillé-Coll in Luçon Cathedral. I feared we would see but not hear this masterpiece but were were not disappointed. As an amateur historian I had read of the peasant revolt setting up a 'free state' in Münster and its sad grisly aftermath. Cannot wait for the upload of Ad Nos it will have been special in that resonant space. I hope Jonathan bought the sparkly multicoloured organ shoes!
Thank you Gents for the personal memories you have awakened with you organr "travel" videos. Being a retired organist (85) I have wonderful memories of playing the great organs of Europe over 50 years. The most interesting on this video was the 3 decker in France with the "extended" stops providing what looked like a much larger organ, at first glance. The acoustic of the church was , of course, the "tour de force"! Sorry about Nantes Cathedral Organ repair, the 32 foot pedal Bombard was the first in Europe and is still......quite a force to be reckoned with. regards Chris. Australia..
You guys have The Best TH-cam channel!! Pleasure to watch. I loved all of the cathedrals so I can’t choose a favorite. The nightingale was phenomenal 😊Amazing talent Tom and Scott! Simply amazing!!
I still love watching you guys do these video tours - so to speak - of places where you're doing concerts. It's my trip-tik around the European countryside from my easy chair and behind the computer monitor. You guys do more walking than anybody I know. Good thing you're both reasonably young and energetic. Really enjoy watching and then whenever you post the concert videos, I get to see the whole concert in various places. And these videos are just great fun with Jonathan's occasional verbal input but Tom's wry sense of humor. Keep up the great work gentlemen. Cheers mates.
It takes a lot of breath to climb that many stairs. Imagine climbing with that heavy bell to the top of the cathedral. The landscapes are beautiful and so are the churches and their pipe organs. These are heritage sites that must be preserved very well. You adapt and move very easily from one place to another, which is good. It is not a task for everyone, in fact, for very few. Congratulations! Very beautiful videos and photos. We await videos of the songs played. 🔔🎶🎹🐦😊💯🙌👋🙋♀
Absolutely delightful to watch you too! Getting better and better, if that's really possible. My grandfather (who I did not know) was an organist in Germany and all my life I have loved organ music. Always looking forward to a new video. You make it fun and interesting and very informative. Thank you for all your hard work and sleepless nights! that go bringing some joy and beauty to this world. God bless, Barbara
Great video, Tom and Jonathan! I enjoyed your travel vlog especially at the start of the video when you revealed the small wine containment cabinet by the organ. I also thought the church that had the fire lookout, and the cages was very interesting. Wishing you both happy travels...Will Ortiz
Thanks for uploading the wonderful vlog! I’m thrilled to be able to travel the world with you both. The view from the spire of St. Lamberti Church is just breathtaking! It’s amazing to listen to Jonathan playing the organ while imagining the stories behind the place’s history. Of course, I love the organ, but I’m also a big fan of Jonathan’s piano playing. The "Vocalise" piece makes me want to cry along with Tom. Also, Tom’s "Nightingale" performance is so charming; it makes the audience look for the nightingale within the church. En fait, vous parlez très bien français!!
I really liked everything! It was quite a trip! I really liked the Melusine tower, which reminded me of Rapunzel's tower from a fairy tale! Beautiful Churches and incredible organs! The concerts must have been wonderful! Thank you both for this beautiful video! ❤❤
Thank you for sharing your latest vlog with us. As usual there is never a dull moment!! I have to admit to being very fond of the St Lamberti "floating" organ. I love the Arioso video you uploaded 5 years ago from there, that piece is definitely one of my favourites & I have watched that video soooo many times. Glad to see that the cages are currently unoccupied! Did you make your escape before they could incarcerate you?!! Thank you both once again for all your excellent videos. xx
Hallo!! Thank you for this amazing tour!! You got the key for sharing this wonderful moments with us!!! ITS LOVELEY ❤❤B B. With Love from the Netherlands.
So much history! Fav stop: bells. The cat is looking for the birds. 😺 Amazing organs, esp C-C & the one with only 18 stops.💥 Thanks for sharing your adventures. As an aficionado of stairs, I'm overwhelmed by the diversity of the stairways you've climbed & am currently breathing into a paper bag. 😬😉 And thanks for your great senses of humor!😂😂🌺🍦🎹🎶
Thank you both for another wonderful vlog, i loved the consols on both the German organs, mostly black keys. Are there many organs like that? It seems quite unusual. I went to Germany several years ago to a place called Rudesheim which is on the Rhine and went on a boat trip it is beautiful in that part of the world. I hope Jonathan was happy with his new shoes, very shiny. Tom you must be a pidgeon whisperer as you always seem to attract them 😂😂 love you both ❤❤❤❤
That quirky 18 stop organ blew me away. Much bigger sound than I would have thought possible. "Chevere!" as we say here in Ecuador. Great and entertaining tour as usual.
Indeed it shows that thinking outside the box by a organ builder can produce wonderful results. That organ has the capabilities of a much bigger and much more expensive organ but as Tom points out to make full use of those capabilities does require a skilled organist like Jonathan.
@@epincion I'm astounded by how quickly Jonathon masters all these different instruments. His mind and discipline are clearly off the charts! And wonderful Tom entertains us along the journey.
Great video, thanks for sharing. Incredible itinerary. I was just at the console of Bergerac Cathedral this week, the 1865 Merklin. Hope to see you both again in Ludlow before long

Looking at your schedule for the rest of the year, it doesn't appear you have much opportunity to fit in a 'break' at all !(Very relieved to see you were not stranded in a 'foreign land' during the I T outage, and that you made good use of the extra time there.)

Ah organ shoes, my husband bought them also but never uses them. He always plays on his socks. But if he plays in the church he uses his normal shoes. So, but in your case i get it, nice shiny shoes.
Great whistle stop tour and beautiful pictures, thank you. I recognised the lemon yellow church towards the end as the Neanderkirche in Düsseldorf. I also tried twice to get in when I was in the city briefly five years ago for a conference, and it was shut then too. Joachim Neander was the author in his short life of many hymns including “Praise ye the Lord the Almighty the king of creation”. Some time following 1942 RAF damage, the old part of Düsseldorf was rebuilt, but as a copy or pastiche of the old - an attractive thing to do in my view but a crime disdained by British architects, where our historic cities similarly suffered considerable damage, firstly by the Luftwaffe in the 1940s, and subsequently by 1960s architects.
Why was rebuilding in the old style ‘a crime?’ It was what the residents wanted. You may be aware that the rebuilding of the historic center of Leipzig including the famous Mother Church was only started after the reunification of East and West Germany and the German architects of that huge project did exactly the same.
@@epincion You’d have to ask RIBA. I’ve visited Leipzig as well - a beautiful and thriving city. My London choir sang morning service at the Thomaskirche.
