Paula who did a t slot cross slide on one of the machinists forums did this. She put a wick down the hole. I used a cigarette butt on my cross drive nut, with a little cavity above it under the screw for oil.
Nice modification, we used to use grubscrews as orifices for hydraulic systems, used to place several on a plate and heat up to dull red. Thanks for sharing
I have the same grub screw with angled loose piece of steel to pull the compound down; on my Wabeco2400. However i've seen you pull back the screws and be able to remove the compound, however on mine those taper pins stay in the compound spigot groove. How come yours pull with? I use a magnet to pull them back after completely moving the grub screw ....
Maintenance.... the key to long life of the machinery.

Hi my lathe is over 50 years old and the location pins are loose and move back when I lift the top slde
What happend to your DRO ? maybe a review after X years use ?
