Thank you , this was very useful. I'm trying to decide between Google and Microsoft. Does Google business email also need the same setup steps? I'm leaning toward Microsoft though because we all use office software.
Hi, I'm curious to ask if you add more users, will the Microsoft add extra charge on your monthly payment? In your demostration only show one user, how about more?
Yes you are charge for each user. In Microsoft you can choose the license per user though. So if the person needs an email address you will have to pay for that person. However a shared mailbox is an additional email that is included in the cost but you do not have a way to let that person sign in and use their email unless you purchase another license. In short yes you pay per user.
Nice video. After setting up my custom domain with primary email, if I add other users emails, will I still go to Advance DNS (txt records etc) for all the new users added?
Once you have the dns settings you shouldn’t need to add anything else when you add users. After the domain is pointed with max records all email searches there and mail gets delivered accordingly for the domain.
Very important question, do we have to pay additional fee's for new users as in emails for my employee's ? i want to create a custom business emails and make emails for my employee's? what is the process and what are the fee's we have to pay ? please guide me through it
Yes you have to pay for every user. With Microsoft though you can choose a different license per user. Typically I would buy Microsoft 365 basic for $6 per month per user. Then Microsoft 365 standard for 12.50 per month for users that need a Microsoft suit license. You can buy them in the Microsoft store and assign them to each user. If you use groups or shared mailboxes those are free. I have a video about that here: th-cam.com/video/HoWkp28fypU/w-d-xo.html
Hi, Great video. 1 question tho...Do I need to create the email inside my hosting platform aswell? or do I just simply create it inside outlook like shown in the video? Thanks for your help
You would create it like the video. Your hosting platform would most likely be only for your website. Just make sure you add all the DNS entries for your domain. If you want your email to show up on your website then you just put it on the page and people can click on it or copy and paste it into a new email. hope that helps! Don't forget to subscribe :)
You should be able to access outlook almost instantly. If your updating dns records they say 24-48 hours but if it isn’t working in 2-3 hours I would check the records again.
You can create the account just don’t connect the domain. This is helpful when you want to use that email to purchase just the business apps. You confirm your domain but do not change the mx records. That way you can log in with your domain but not receive email there. Hope that helps.
It can take up to 24 hours for this to work, but if it takes more then 2 hours something is wrong. If you are putting in a new entry it is quicker then updating. You should be able to put in the txt record and the information given. I think in our example it is Godaddy, but make sure you have the domain information in correctly and you are putting in a txt record with the proper start field. If you email us your domain at support@nexttechconsultants.com I may be able to look at it really quick for you and see if it is showing up.
Great content. I set up the emails successfully. But my only challenge is that external domains like gmail, yahoo and other emails can't send emails to the office 365 email account i created. Ive been troubleshooting for a while and i couldn't fix it
This seems like an issue with mx records. If you use the mxtoolbox it will pull up your records. Do you see something similar to [yourdomain].mail.protection.outlook.com ? mxtoolbox.com/ If you don't have that then the external emails will not send to your business account. Hope that helps!
It’s a hard balance to make the video short and also get the content in. Thanks for watching. Hope you can find a video that helps at the right pace. Feel free to pause when needed :)
Thank you SO much!!! I could not have done this without you - way over my head :)
Happy to help! Glad you were able to figure it out!

Very similar setup steps for Google and Microsoft.
@@NextTechNT Thank you, I subscribed to Microsoft and it works just fine.

Very helpful - thanks!!
So glad it helped. Thanks for letting me know.
How long will it take once you have completed everything in the end to be able to use Outlook? I'm getting Error 500 once I try to access Outlook

great vid, super helpful!!
thank you so much! Happy it helped. I love hearing from people when the videos help them in some way.
Hi, how about if I already have a business email setup through my domain provider and I just want to create an office365 account for it?
You can create the account just don’t connect the domain. This is helpful when you want to use that email to purchase just the business apps.
You confirm your domain but do not change the mx records. That way you can log in with your domain but not receive email there.

Hello.
I don't know if I completed my setup. It was alot. How do I check to see if the setup is complete?
If you can send and recommence emails from it the. You know it works.

@@NextTechNT Thank you so much, you are right. The issue has been fixed. It was the Mx records that was pointing to something else.
