I own a 2023 Hybrid Limited Sonata in portofino gray. I love the car, everyone calls it a spaceship, and absolutely everything about owning the car has been amazing for me these past 5 months. Being in IT, I don't really have a commute. At one point I didn't refill my tank for almost 6 weeks! When I first bought the car a lot of heads turned, the higher trim with all of the chrome is definitely a big difference on the outside. The number of features, including the Heads up Display, make this car the best buy I could find. I personally do not like the look of the Elantra and the lack of features pushed me towards the more costly Sonata.
The Elantra Limited actually looks better. And more value for money compared to the Sonata. The Highway driving assist and stuff are certain things you don't even get on cars from luxury brands at the lower trim levels. The Bose Speakers are better than the on my Audi A3.

Maybe Kia comparisons and even kia vs hyundai comparisons. 1 thing I will mention is that everyone is here to compare and It is hard to compare scene to scene or remember stats of the previous car you just went over, so I think it would be important to show stats for both cars at the same time and maybe highlighting which car you are talking about in that moment. Thank you for the review. I'm working on getting an Elantra Hybrid Limited later this year. I was originally going for the Corolla Hybrid in 2022. With the changes they made to the Corolla Hybrid in 2023, I would only get the XLE version which is only about $1400 less than the Elantra HEV Limited. So I started looking at the Elantra HEV Limited more closely and feel that it's a better bang for your buck than the Corolla with a few things the Corolla doesn't have available with about the same MPG. That finish on the Elantra HEV Limited's front grill is labeled as "black chrome" by Hyundai. I had kind of hoped you would also show the hands free trunk open option on these cars. You just have to have the key fob in your pocket, stand behind the car for 3 seconds and it will open automatically. Another nice little touch on the Elantra is the ambient lighting strip in the cabin that you can change the color of in the settings. They have a full color spectrum available on that strip. It's not much, but it's a nice little touch to make it feel a little more luxurious.

Beautiful cars. I just had to replace the engine in my 2013 Limited Hybrid Sonata, they had the car for 2 weeks and provided me a loaner. I'm not sure I would buy another Hyundai as the engine issue has been going on for a long time and it seems like Hyundai is focused more on looks and not on having a reliable engine that won't seize on the freeway with no warning.

No one at the Hyundai service center seemed surprised, my 2013 Sonata Limited Hybrid had 62k miles at the time the engine failed on the 405 freeway in Southern Cali.
Im just under 6 feet 2 inches. There is more room in the sonata for sure. I think it come down to what you want for your money. I think you would be fine in both cars.
Do your research on the room on the inside of the Elantra vs the Sonata. Not actually but a couple inches difference. You have more room in the bk seat in the Elantra than the sonata but more leg room in the front of the sonata. However the console in the Sonata makes its very uncomfortable for a bigger man in the sonata! That’s why we passed on the sonata because my bf was cramped due to how wide the console is on the sonata. Not comfortable for a man’s manhood if you know what I mean because you have to keep your legs close together! Elantra all the way for the money. You don’t get that much more for the sonata. We have the blue limited 2023 and love it.
Question, I sat in an Elantra and the seats were too low for me. Do the Sonata seats sit up higher? I'm 65 with back issues and this is a determining factor. Love your video. Thanks.
Overall the sonata will be a more comfortable ride. I can’t fully stipulate if height of seats were the same but I will say that feel on sonata is more comfortable.
I am also sailing in the same boat - have back issues. Need to check Sonata considering its hybrid else will have to settle down for a mid sized SUV or CUV (Kia Niro) hybrid.
I was thinking about trading in my Altima for a sonata limited as I like front passenger power seat but I think I have no choice but to do Elantra, since I think sonata is out of the my budget.
These cars are very nice design wise. For a limited, the Elantra needs vents and charging ports in the back. I wonder why they decided to not make the Apple Car Play and Android Auto wireless for the 12 inch?? Also, in older models of the sonata, the limited used to have heated seats and sun shades in the back and I wish they would bring that back but I'm guessing with all the updated tech, they are cutting cost.
I read the bigger screen doesn't have the wifi support which it needs for wireless info via maps. Some people get a wifi dongle and then it works wirelessly, but double check if usb c needed for that which this doesn't have

The Elantra has a longer life than the Sonata. Most of the Sonata cars have a 2.4 engine that suffers from oil burning problems. The 2.0 engine of the Elantra is better.
They are way too small for one and also not so reliable like engines made by chevy or Toyota. Now I do understand that now Hyundai is made by dodge but even then it's like owning a dollar store vehicle. And this is coming from an elantra owner
"Honday" drives me crazy lol Hyundai is pronounced like "Sunday", just with an H ... people lose credibility when they don't even pronounce the brand right. That being said.....I will be getting the Honday Sonata for surreee 😂
