    A lot of people say they dont like the styling of this car that the geometric shapes are not good....
    I will have to disagree with this... im older and grew up in a time where you could tell the make model and year of a car from a mile away then in the 90s car manufacturers started making all cars with smooth rounded looks and every car looked the same. I for one love that you know it is a Hyundai elantra the second you see it....good job Hyundai

      I can see that. I actually like the updated version of their styling language where they’ve better integrated some of the harsh forms so they look more cohesive.

    I’m considering the 2024 Elantra Hybrid Limited. The only thing that makes me scratch my head is that the Hybrid Limited doesn’t get the 360 camera and blind spot cameras, but the gas Limited does. Why, Hyundai, why?! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

    The one thing that I don't like about my 2024 Elantra Hybrid Limited is the unavailability of a compact spare tire. It comes with a tire mobility kit, but to my knowledge after inquiries to my dealer a compact spare is not available. Otherwise, I love the car.

      If the Mazda 3 had a trim like this with the hybrid efficiency of the Elantra or Corolla, it would be a very complete lineup (and a no brainier in terms of perceived luxury). Because Mazda is pretty close with Toyota, they need to leverage some hybrid tech for their volume sellers asap.

  • @charlesworton4020
    @charlesworton4020 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The Hybrid option has quicker performance off the line due to the torquey electric motor, improved handling due to the independent rear suspension, and improved power handling due to the dual clutch transmission. It will save its owner $50 per month or more, compared to a non Hybrid Elantra; and if that savings is applied to the purchase price, it lets you easily buy the highest level of trim. You get all the luxury and tech, with the fuel savings paying for it. I bought one 6 months ago, and I love it!

      @@jeannielynna Hi - I'm in Canada, and we use liters per hundred kilometers. In the summer, I'm typically getting 4.3 liters per hundred kilometers; in the winter, it's more like 6 liters per hundred kilometers. That works out to 55 miles per US gallon (summer) and 40 miles per gallon (winter). That's true whether I'm on 40 mph roads or 60 mph freeways, Virtually all my driving is in the city. We tend not to have stop and go rush hour traffic, so that probably helps my ratings. Hope that helps - Charlie

    It's too bad folks in America couldn't get the manual transmission in the base model. Those of us in Canada could get that in 2021 and '22. For me, the 6 speed manual just makes driving this car so much fun. I look forward to driving my elantra every time I get into it. I like the look of the car, and love the interior design. Everyone seems to be impressed by how roomy the trunk is.
    Although I will say, even with winter tires on snow covered roads, you are very aware of just how light weight this car is VS a pickup truck. It almost feels like a gust of wind could throw you off the highway.

    I've owned this thing since late December 2022, so it's a 2023 year. Almost 20k miles on it, I'm in total agreement with this video. The way the car shifts just sucks. I have plenty of experience driving a manual vehicle and I think I have a good idea as to why (or at least the main issue): The computer isn't predicting user input. If the computer were to properly predict user input, it could be ready to shift smoothly in most situations. But that's not possible, the car would become a $100,000 car if it could do that. It's fine the way it is though. If you need some extra bit of certainty for specific manuevers in traffic, switch into manual mode and control the shifting yourself. Also a side note: This car is not meant for driving in snow or areas with uneven terrain, however, it works out fine because it's a hybrid. If the engine stalls due to the bad shifting, the vehicle remains online and you maintain control due to the electric motors. Obviously, don't purposefully take it out into these conditions if you can help it (the car may hurt itself more than you think), but you should know that it can handle itself and it's a reliable car for that matter. Also, yes you can drive it through high water. It's by no means a truck, but I've driven it straight through a flooded low bridge (it wasn't super high but high enough to be a concern) and the car ended up perfectly fine just like any other gas vehicle. This wasn't a great decision on my part in hindsight because now there's visible orange rust behind my wheels.

      Hard to say since we only get to keep the cars for a week. I'd check some forums to see if anyone is reporting known or common issues with the powertrain, which would be a red flag this early in the model trim. For what it's worth, the Honda Civic is in our opinion the best all around car in the class. I have the Type R showing up in the driveway tomorrow, actually.

      10 years warranty on transmission and engine and 10 years or unlimited warranty on battery depend on your area. I don't think Honda can match with that. I was debating toyota corolla hybrid vs 2023 elantra hybrid. I end up choosing elantra hybrid because of warranty. There is chance you may get lemon car in toyota as well even tho you have better resale value on toyota. I don't want to have a lemon car, so 10 yrs warranty is very important.

    I doubt that hybrid is a smart buy, because it may not save money. The reason is the additional cost of buying a hybrid and the battery replacement makes the gas saving not very outstanding. For example the overal fuel economy of a gas and a bybrid vehicle is 6.7l/100km and 4.7l/100km repectively, so the difference is only 2L/100km or saving $3/100km. To buy a hybride elantra in Canada, you need to pay 2500+hst more than a gas one, which would be $2825. $2825/$3/100km=94,166.67km, which means you need to drive 94,166.67km to make the saving on gas equal to the additionl payment of $2825 for getting the hybride one. In other words, for every additional km beyond 94,166.67km, you just start to saving money. However, do not forget the battery do have a life of use, which is approximately 160,000km/100,000 miles. So (160,000km-94,166.67km)*$3/100km= $1,975, this amount is what you would save eventually for your first battery life cycle without caculating the time value or interests cost of the additional $2825. And if keep this car long term, you have to pay for the replacement of the battery which would be at least another $3000 or even much more, and if the replacement cost beyond $2825+$1975=$4800, you would actually lose money for purchasing the bybrid one. How do you guys think?

    • @jax1079
      @jax1079  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think it depends on how you’re using it. Also, batteries on hybrids rarely get replaced. At worst, they reduce gas mileage versus original

    • @KenDel905
      @KenDel905 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Honestly same. This video was 60% talking about the car 40% about them. The video lacked consistency and a fluid narrative. It went from likes and dislikes, to a review of the car, to some likes and dislikes again and overall it just felt so sporadic. A lot of this content could’ve been cut to save on time. “Boring”🥱 as the video titled and described as a list of likes and dislikes for the car, that should’ve been the main and sole focus of the video. The side remarks and banter between the two was exhausting within minutes.
      That being said, the camera quality (minus the flare at the end) was superb. B roll was very well done as well as colour grading. I can tell they have quite an interest in videography and I appreciate that.
      As far as the car itself goes, they’re showing the limited model which is the higher trim. The blue model is base for the hybrid which does cut some features and comforts, but also cuts the price to be even more affordable. I’ve seen them as low as $23k new in the US, a much more accurate representation of affordable for this car. The plastic area to the left of the steering wheel is an oddity that most people are unfamiliar with. Only the sport trim “N-Line” utilizes this area. In the non sport trims, this space is wasted, but not any more than other cars that don’t use the space. Some owners have installed phone mounts or other items to the area to try and give it some functionality. In regard to the plastic handle in the centre console adjacent to the passenger seat… I’m at a loss I’m not sure what that is for either. It can serve as another handle but I think it’s just an aesthetic piece. The notes and comments about the driving barely described the transmission dislikes. “The brake and accelerator felt touchy” “well that’s transmission” doesn’t feel smooth. Explain how, why? What did you do to cause the issue? Was it often? Did it make any noise? This would’ve been an important item to go into detail for but all they did was discuss the Ed Sheeran concert.
      Overall I agree with the original commenter, this was indeed stressful to listen to. No one forced me to stay and watch which is my own fault, but man was this so frustrating.
