This is the most comprehensive video Ive found! I love that you go over everything from camera settings, framing shots, how to move your hands, and editing.
I often forget that you’re a Final Cut editor. It’s amazing though, because even though I’m an Adobe editor, I still process everything you say. The editing suite doesn’t matter at all. One of these days, I may give it a try. Anyway, THANK YOU kindly for all of these helpful tips. ✌️ from NJ, USA
Needed this! Beautiful natural palette to work with. I live near Detroit and despise winter. We get mild ones and cold blustery ones as well, but all-in-all WINTER SUCKS living towards either pole. My opinion....
Just started using my Gorpo8 with media mod. The ONE thing I dislike is the amount of lighting needed to make it look good in my little kitchen where I film
Doesn‘t matter which camera PL got in his hand - he‘ll always forge something epic and cinematic 😎 Would be a nice challenge video though e.g. 99€ point and shoot 😁
Thank you for the wonderful explanation, camera angles, and video. I am a visual learner, so being able to see how to, where to, before and after, etc is fantastic! Well done! Take care.
Hey Peter, another great video! Can you or someone who has been following longer answer the following: when vlogging, do you use a more basic preset, or are you shooting in s-log still and color grading. Again this is for vlogging, not product shoots or epic b roll. Thanks for all that you do!!!
Thanks! I'm usually shooting in S Log 2 with my "regular settings" no matter if i'm vlogging or not. I've tried a couple of different things but it just looks wors when i use something else. I guess i'm too used to the Picture Profile ^^
Brooooo once again LIT video. I admire your contents my guy. Thanks for this by the way because I just recently got my hands on the Hero 8 Black. These tips I'll definitely add to my videos. Keep these contents coming. You're one of my top favorite TH-camrs!!!!
Hey thanks for the tips! I think the hypersmooth on the GoPro 8 is totally next level.. so good! Just started uploading my own stuff, not really focused on content just yet but more enjoying capturing footage with the GoPro and Mavic Mini. Keep up the good work!
Tip for getting the GoPro low is to shoot it upside down and rotate in post. That way the shorter side of the body is towards the ground getting the lens lower. Not much difference, but it helps!
Bra tips och fin foto-plats! Använt GoPros i många år nu, väldigt flexibla och praktiska...bra "arbetshästar"! Tack för tipsen och videon. Tumme upp från Göteborg!
Hi Peter, it's difficult for you to know it, but I don't understand English 100%, however I like your videos anda I enjoy them, i learn a lot from you. I see you from Barranquilla-Colombia, i'm a young Venezuelan photographer part of the diaspora of my country. Keep making videos, many successes, i hope to meet you one day.
Hey Peter! I thought that was a giant spider on the wall when you walked through the door, but it was your drone! Sucks about the GoPro screen! But... now I need to give manual a try with my GoPro's. All great tips! Sayin' hey.... Greg
Hello Peter, do you want to put the manual settings in the description for a while? especially this one of how you have set the white balance, I can then set this setting as a personal preset! thanks for the good explanation how to make better movies through the camera movements ;-)
It would’ve been cool if while making this great video you showed the footage from the shots along side the footage of you doing the shot. You were talking about all this great stuff but then you didn’t show the footage from the actual shot. You should a couple of the clips when you did your color grading. Anyway loved your video I appreciate it. Just some suggestions to make your already great contact Ryder. Thank you
Thanks for the great advice (as always). I would love a video on getting the most out of our GoPro 360 camera. That thing is awful when it comes to quality Haha
i noticed in alot more recent movies they started using cinematic go pro shots in avatar 2 there was one scene during the water fight and they had a mini little go pro shot
Great video with some amazing tips! Thank you! I recently made some videos from a trip I took to Death Valley and I primarily used my GoPro Hero 7. I tried to make it as cinematic as I could, but I would appreciate any tips you might have. Keep up the great work - looking forward to the next video!!
Peter, as a suggestion. I think it would be beneficial if you could show the way how to shoot like a pro with mid range or perhaps little old flagship smartphones. That could be a tough challenge and at the same time, inspiring others to start with whatever they got and improve along the way. 😉🤘👍👍
I see that Swedish forests are very similar to Polish ones. Watching your movie I feel at home. The difference is that mass felling of trees has recently been carried out in Poland (You can see in my latest video) Thank you for the beautiful shots.👍
Peter! You have an amazing character. I always get in a better mood when I watch your videos, and get super inspired to make content. So to that I tip my hat and say thank you.
This is the most comprehensive video Ive found! I love that you go over everything from camera settings, framing shots, how to move your hands, and editing.
Simply describing how everybody with only a gopro could make a fantastic videos to youtube in 2020. Thank you Peter!
Where is the final footage? 😕
Some of it is at the start

Agreed, would have been better - short explanation > resulting footage, next. Good video though !
You're one of my favorite sailing channels

I like how you do less talking and mentioning the obvious stuff and do more demonstrations. Will definitely be learning from your tricks
Needed this! Beautiful natural palette to work with. I live near Detroit and despise winter. We get mild ones and cold blustery ones as well, but all-in-all WINTER SUCKS living towards either pole. My opinion....
I was anticipating that you would show the final version of the pics after post processing
Just started using my Gorpo8 with media mod. The ONE thing I dislike is the amount of lighting needed to make it look good in my little kitchen where I film
I just knew peter was going to grab coffee ☕️ when he came in his studio.
Doesn‘t matter which camera PL got in his hand - he‘ll always forge something epic and cinematic 😎
Would be a nice challenge video though e.g. 99€ point and shoot 😁
Is there a final footage of the vidoe? You should put together a video on how you did the editing in your final cut and share with us.

Just starting my channel and found your tips quite helpful. All I have is a GoPro so I need to make it work :)
That panning/rotating move can make the shot look even more interesting in handheld shots! 👌
Oh totally, it's a great way to make shots more dynamic!
Render setting please help🙏🏽
I still remember when you dropped the Hero 8 one meter from the ground and that screen still reminds me of it
Love the explanation of the colour grading :)

You mentioned shooting in wide as opposed to linear. How do you deal with the fish eye warp of the image in wide mode?
Great information and tips. Thx for sharing. Would love to see footage from examples.
